Hot Hot Heat have just broken up again, so if anyone was sad they weren't on this year's lineup, that could explain it. Said they had some shows planned but had to scrap them just before the new year.
Got tier 1. I have way more friends going this year than last year (Gossip reunion is a big deal in my personal circle), so I bought with them instead of waiting for Stubhub again.

Thats the reunion I had mentioned. It had also potentially delayed the rollout back in December cause they had some drama right before so they just hoped it would work itself out before lineup drop this month.

Yikes, the schedules were pretty friendly to me in previous years but this is a mess for me. Only 35 mins for Gossip and against Warpaint is a bummer! Unfortunate placement for BSS also. Gets a lot easier for me in the evening, but in future years, I'd be in favor of booking 2 or 3 fewer acts just to get some longer sets in.
FYI Warpaint said on their socials they will be playing Exquisite Corpse all the way through at JLH and on this tour. Not sure if might change your mind.

well, that complicates things.. to be honest, warpaint sorta works better for scheduling so I'll have to think this over. Thanks for the heads up

Finally bought passes for this thing. Prices didn't seem to drop as much as I expected by now but I decided to pull the trigger on a pair that were at least below tier 3 pricing after fees. Ultimately it didn't matter because I had like $600 in stubhub credits after that settlement so they ended up being free.
Warpaint and CSS at the same time? Half hour sets? It's like they deliberately make the acts I want to see the most conflict every year out of spite. $200+ for bad scheduling and uninteresting headliners? Maybe if the StubHub prices went down to a reasonable level, but this ain't worth all that money and the trek to Pasadena.

From the cruel world thread: i think they finally figured out parking. Having VIP and GA use completely different entrance and exit routes made getting in and out a breeze even after the headliners finished. I couldn't believe we just drove right out of the lot without any lines.
Coming into town for this for the first time. Pumped!
Anything noteworthy I should know ahead of time? Gonna leave extra time for getting in as I heard that’s a hassle.
as long as you get in before 3 parking isn't too bad. if you'd prefer not to deal with parking, the free shuttle is the way to go (but I think parking in the parson's lot is $15). expect a bit of a walk to to entrance though.

Last year was probably an exception to the rule with long entry - not only was it the first festival of the year at Brookside (this year, Cruel World was first again), but The Hives were a last-minute 12pm addition, which encouraged a lot more people to show up early than normal. I expect this year's entry to go smoother.
I'm seeing stuff all over to upgrade (emails, in the AXS ticket ap, IG, etc.). Wonder how this is selling. Might have just kind of run out the string on this idea, but I am excited for the day on Saturday and going to take it pretty casual.

they had the same offers for cruel world and it was as packed as always so I wouldn't look into it too much.

Theres still about 2 more years of non repeat bookings left on the list of acts from the time frame. Theyre good

All you have to do is ask
~7k GA remaining ~300 GA 4-pack remaining ~2k VIP remaining ~50 Clubhouse remaining
So around 10k passes remaining. But this doesn't necessarily tell exactly how well it sold - there could have been 15k passes last week and they comped 5k to friends/family.
Had a great day and saw great sets, but I still think both The Postal Service + DCFC were snoozefests. Phoenix, CSS, Broken Social Scene were my favorites. I hope they finally book Vampire Weekend for this next year.
Broken Social Scene was my #1 Phoenix, Alvvways, Miike Snow were great Tegan & Sara was unexpectedly good Passion Pit was really fun Only act that didn't quite do it for me was Phantogram - I just don't like most of their newer stuff
Also it felt like this was more packed than last year.
Yea, it did feel quite crowded towards the later part of the day. I was surprised by how large the turnout was. Hope it met GV's expectations so they can keep this thing going.
