I had a good time yesterday. We missed Freedia but got there in time for Idles. They were alright. I didn’t like all of it but show was best at the end. Jamie was great. He did a nice bounce interlude early in the show. He did drop some other random shit that probably made it a more unique set. LCD sounded great. I’m not a super big fan but I have to give them credit. Sound was great, and I thought the playing was really good too. Maybe 3-4,000? Food options were good. Drinks were outrageous. 16 for a 12 oz can of Dos Equis? You could buy a 12 pack for that. Double drinks were $30. It’s whatever but I’ll be back today.

Wish I could say? We are on a thunderstorm delay so they haven’t opened. We are pregaming at the crib watching San Francisco show from I guess last week of boygenius. Damn it’s so good. Just me and my daughter so it’s estrogen party because if you have only one daughter who has two older brothers, you become the tag team partner which is the great daddy equalizer shit. Gonna wear my pink Chon tour shirt from 2018.
Lot of fun yesterday. So damn hot for Idles. Sunset for end of Jamie and into LCD was fantastic.
Not great at guessing numbers but that sold better than I expected. Hitting the road, few hours of work this week, and then will turn back around for the main course this weekend.

Thought Idles was phenomenal and everything I wanted, but was crazy hot and dusty (condensed the SK effect into one set, was sneezing out black snot all night). Big props to the kid who followed me into the pit for his first time and afterward said it was some of the most fun he's ever had. I had no expectations for Jamie XX and thoroughly enjoyed the set, was a nice vibe shift after the intensity of Idles, would see again. LCD sounded phenomenal and the sunset set was a great way to close out the day. Would have loved to see Big Freedia, but getting a little longer Idles set was a nice consolation.
Overall, I liked this smaller festival format, but as many have said the concessions prices were insane ($30 for a burger and fries, c'mon man) and the merch offerings were really pretty sparse. The longer sets were really fun and it was pretty easy to find shade. Definitely worth the price of admission.
She had maybe a 7 or 8 piece band who were all pretty competent. It sounded very good live. A bonus was my two teenage nieces were there and I got to hang with them. They are both budding musicians.
