What makes anyone think there will be a How Long Gone aftershow? Not saying there won't be. But why does anyone think that?
They’ve mentioned it on the HLG podcast twice.
I really hope it’s like them talking for 20 minutes and then it’s just an MJ set. It’s gonna have really bizarre pacing to have like a talk>song>talk>song thing.
As someone who was really hoping for an MJ aftershow I’m a little bummed about what it’s being paired with.
'13 Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam, Boston Calling '14 Mountain Jam, Boston Calling '15 Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam, Gathering of the Vibes, Boston Calling '16 Mountain Jam, Firefly, Newport Folk Fest '17 Mountain Jam, Newport Folk Fest, Boston Calling '18 Mountain Jam, Newport Folk Fest '19 Newport Folk Fest '22 Newport Folk Fest

I usually prefer schedules as early as possible to help with initial research and planning but with the way Newport ends up changing and shifting sets it isn't always worth it haha.
Give me the late nights, please. Need to know what I get to stress over getting tickets to.

Lol not excited about an aggressive round 2. Already got lucky once, I don’t know how much luck I have left.

they told us we could split after shows repeatedly, have emails and then today they're like oh sorry you can't do that. So assume we'll have a pair of something to grab.

ill be honest, with few exceptions, i never saw the appeal of the aftershows. rather than pay more money to see another show from acts i could have just seen at the festival, i'd much rather go like, have a good meal at one of the great restaurants in town or grab oysters and drinks at Benjamin's and then get weird at the arcade or just go back to the house and sit on the deck and relax or whatever.

I used to like the Blues Cafe shows but those became unbearable. Especially as I got a little older.
The Jane Pickens shows are magical to me, though. That venue is great and the shows I've seen have been well worth the money. Have really enjoyed those shows but it does take up the free time for the rest of the night. Basically running from the festival to the aftershow area/venues and then you're there til late night.

Dawes and Friends Saturday night at Jane Pickens about 10 years ago remains one of my top memories. Truly magical.
as someone who usually does 11 am to 4 am in centeroo everyday for 12 Bonnaroos, I like trying to fit as much experience as I can in my limited amount opportunities to vacation. So I’ll be trying to squeeze in as much music as I can. I also enjoy the duality of experience in one day between an open fest experience and an intimate venue experience within hours of each other.
