wow NFF didnt book a hyped folk-adjacent tour no way i cant believe it wow that never happens
Ima count this one as a win, dog.
yeah i didn't want them either, but it's just so funny how the cycle is like "oh, folk-related band [releases big album, announces big tour, etc], surely they'll be at Newport" and then...not
Adrianne Lenker is Subbing for Hozier and Noah will be at home
im not as optimistic as you.
(also Adrianne Lenker feels like a Quad act or Harbor closer)
I would love Adrianne Lenker earlier in the day at the Quad. Her solo music is lower intensity and feels like it should be earlier in the day. Would love her as a 3rd act at the quad.

I have a hard time picturing Newport scheduling her that early. I think that was the Big Thief slot in 2017, and they have both blown up a lot since then. Different festivals, but Big Ears has her as their headliner on Thursday above Charles Lloyd and Kurt Vile. She’s playing some pretty good sized venues on her tour too. I think she’d be closer to Quad/Harbor closer.
wouldn't be surprised if Iron & Wine turn up - new album announced along with a tour that leaves them wide open around NFF
Fiona Apple is on the new album. I know it’s wishful thinking every year but a gal can dream. If that happens, Noah Kahan and Hozier could both headline for all I care lol.
Afghan Whigs are touring that ends in mid July. Could they be a Dino Jr. type bill? I’m not too familiar.
Tyler Childers too, any thoughts on him earning a headlining spot?
feel like its pretty safe to pencil Tyler Childers in; dates work, he did an aftershow last year, etc. Could be a headliner but they had some bigger subs last year, so if they stick with that trend I could see him subbing as well.
