Yeah, it's not so clear what the end goal is here..
I dont disagree with this, however I def think both groups have the same ultimate goal, complete ownership of this land without either arabs or jews in play at all. the obvi difference is that israel has both the means to do it, and also has what ppl think is way less of a true claim to the land.

this is an oversimplification though... i dont think the majority of Palestinians used to feel like they needed "no jews in play at all" re: living on their land, in Palestine. but now? yeah i dont blame them if thats how they fucking feel about the people genociding them as we speak...
Israel has long possessed a colonizer approach to Palestine that has not been true in reverse. Israel is the one who made Gaza into an open-air prison. Israel is the one who has had control over when Palestinians are allowed to leave the country, if at all. So if Palestinians at this point are like "yeah we dont want them on our land ever again or control over us anymore, period" -- do you really blame them??
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Hamas hiding in a hospital doesn’t justify bombing it and killing a bunch of innocent people in my personal opinion. Debating whether they’re there or not is beside the point.

get out of here with that logic and empathetic reasoning

In the past, Hamas has offered to make a deal to accept the 1967 borders BUT without recognizing Israel. I think things are too far gone at this point for that to be a likely term any time soon. The issue with any of this is neither side trusts each other for obvious reasons but also a deep-seeded paranoia that the other side doesn't mean what they say and they believe what you just said is the end goal. After all Hamas grew to power because they rejected the outcome of the Oslo Accords and the PLO basically fumbling all negotiations and getting shit in return.
I don't know how in the fuck we get over the hump and get to a place where there's some form of trust. But removing the leadership of both sides seems like a good first step.
Edited to clarify that the offer wasn't made in the current climate.
I do think those parts of the open air prison comments on israel's side and not palestine's are potentially highly correlated to arms/GDP/etc. if you gave Palestine the iron dome, as much western money and weapons they could ever ask for and gave Israel poverty Im not so sure they would have acted differently. obvi we will never know

Did anyone in this thread make an argument in opposition to this?
yes I am talking about now not 5 years ago on either side for sure. and the blame part I def see what u are saying
the historical context matters though.
this obviously isnt a perfect analogy -- but if a woman and man were in court for divorce and it was known that she had suffered years of abuse at the hands of her husband, including being limited in where and when she could go places and what sorts of resources she could bring into the house or bring out of it, wouldn't it be pretty reasonable for her to request more from the divorce settlement and it not just be 50/50? lets say they had joint bank accounts so it wasn't that either of them had a more blatantly definitive claim to the money/investments but does the abuse and control that he had over her for years not feel relevant for who deserves more payment/claim?

Important to remember is that jews, christians and muslims lived together rather peacefully before Israel got.. founded. I don't think Palestinians want 'complete ownership', they just don't want to get eradicated from their lands with brute force as is what's been happening for decades now on the Westbank.

precisely, and that was what i was trying to hit on in my imperfect analogy.
the abuse and control Palestinians have experienced at the hands of Israel lonnnnnnnnng before October 7th should absolutely be relevant in the conversation, and absolutely are relevant to why their goal of "complete ownership of the land" is so much more just and deserved than Israel's at this point.
like, god forbid they've reached a place of wanting the land to themselves exclusively and without being under Israeli control after the decades of trauma and tragedy they've endured.

u do understand that the time in history u are referring to is when the holocaust occurred right

I do in fact know when the holocaust happend, I'm refering to 18th, 19th century before the first zionists migrated en masse to Palestine.
Genocide Jim and Pale Hose sure like to provide the post-1948 history. It’s those scruffy details from 1914-1948 that seem to get lost in the process…
I wonder why.
E.g., 1918 Census: 700k Arabs, 56k Jews.
do u think it should go back to the way it was in 1918?
I believe I’d like to see a pro-Israeli person actually provide an decently accurate picture of the history in Palestine from say 1910-1949. Sure seems like a lot of information always gets scrubbed out of the “history”…
Haven’t trusted CNN at all really ever since their despicable coverage of Bernie during both 2016 & 2020 primaries but lol at them just showing this video of the IDF soldier making up lies about what the words say in Arabic without any correction in translation from the reporting.
Do they forget that around 1.5 million Americans speak Arabic and are going to be able to spot these lies immediately just as the woman in the tiktok did?

im more so asking do u think the land should have 90% arabs and 10% jews
the reason I am asking questions and I suppose being labeled as pro-israel is simply contemplating what u all would like to occur then working backwards to figure out what it would actually take to get there

with all due respect what on earth does the 1700s have to do with today.
That people from different religions can live and coexist together in harmony without a colonizer pressing one group against another, weither it be a Western colonizer or a zionist.
