Another desperate, horror-filled update from DWB. It just gets worse every day and I can't say I've seen anything to indicate this will improve. As with the Iraq war I fear there's nothing that'll change the course. Mass protest, popular opinion, it doesn't matter. The war machine marches on with the bipartisan support of our government. They can't even seem to muster up a "humanitarian pause." Now we see a maternity ward bombed, babies dying without incubators, a quadriplegic shot by a sniper, people killed as they exit the hospital, doctors and their families exterminated from purposeful air strikes, refugees bombed outside the hospital, ambulances blown to pieces, etc. And that's just the stuff around hospitals. It's insane.
At this point in time if you're still defending Israel's actions you're so lost as a human nothing will change your mind. Religion is a hell of a drug, etc. Despite the few awful folks in this thread it's nice to know most recognize this for the anti-human horror it is. For as silly as social media can be it's been a great force for educating people and dispelling the propaganda. Sure there's some bullshit on there but it's done a lot more than you'd ever get from the news. Maybe that'll have an actual effect in some future war or movement.
It's encouraging to witness how thoroughly Israel's propaganda has failed on most outside of the zealots. When this is over, after countless more have been mulched into meat, it'll be interesting to see if they ever reflect on the human misery they excused and explained away. I hope so but doubt it.

ya for sure I think that there should be a ceasefire tomorrow then ideally everything calms down and goes back to the way it was

I believe I’d like to see a pro-Israeli person actually provide an decently accurate picture of the history in Palestine from say 1910-1949. Sure seems like a lot of information always gets scrubbed out of the “history”…

But every proposed split in land between Palestinians and Jews would require Palestinians getting smaller and smaller pieces of the land they’ve been inhabiting for hundreds of years.
This is literally like the US government saying to the native Americans we will let you keep most of your land, then just some of it, then really none of it, all while we are going to continue to kick you off it and put more of “OUR” people on the land.

The status quo lead us to this moment. It almost certainly will again. At some point it will go regional.
So the question becomes do you want ethnic cleansing of a population that's suffered decades of oppression or should concessions be made to work towards a true Palestinian state. A one state solution could work too but that seems the most unlikely of the three.
It seems pretty obvious Israel's position is genocide and/or ethnic cleanings. These are things that also bring us closer to a possible WW3 scenario. I'm not saying I have the answer but going back to the way things were doesn't make anyone safer.

I posted it because of the back and forth nature of the convos we’ve had in here, it made me think of it a bit. Guess I should’ve wrote “disclaimer: I am not posting this because I think this video is factual perfection” but I thought that could’ve been presumed?
ETA: I'm not surprised Pale Horse has taken issue of posting what is so clearly a dramatized version of real lines of convos that are happening, but I figured most anyone else would know I was not posting it with the insinuation of "this is exactly what people are saying, this is a script from a real conversation in fact." The point of the video is to point out how absurd it is that pro Isreal people think IDF can and IS only targeting Hamas and will magically be able to not harm any of the hostages as they bomb building after building (well, and also that they think IDF gives a shit about the hostages' lives being sustained, to begin with...)

there are so many amazing American Jews who are speaking out in protest of the genocide whilst also lifting up the need for hostages' safe return and peace to the region as a whole.
but this march? the chant was "no ceasefire." literally, hundreds of voices chanting NO CEASEFIRE which more or less translates to "we love genocide."
calling the march simply a "gathering in solidarity" is not quite the full story at all, is it?

It’s because they lied about the amount of people there lol. There were only ~32,000 people there if you look in the comments. Not 290,000…
Side note: As people have said on Twitter in response to some NY gatherings, probably not a good sign when you’re at a rally/protest and everyone there is old and white.

I absolutely hate the state Israel. One of the most cruel and evil governments in the world. I have no inherent hatred towards Jewish people, only those who go out of their way to support the inhumane treatment of Palestinians through doing stuff like gathering and marching.
