Kamala is too busy being proud of her neocon endorsements to take the right lessons from any of this. Of course she probably wouldn't be getting those endorsements if someone like Cheney thought she'd do anything differently. If a regional war is avoided it seems it will have nothing to do with US diplomacy.

For 51 weeks, Israel has slaughtered tens of thousands in Gaza w/ indiscriminate airstrikes. How many of those led the news? Unspeakable, nonstop Israeli violence is totally normalized in our political and media discourse. The bombing of Palestinian and Lebanese bodies by nuclear-armed, superpower-backed, colonial apartheid state is considered normal and not newsworthy. Yet, any armed action taken against Israel--regardless of its damage, lethality or effectiveness--is deemed a wild abrogation of the natural order, a breaking news event that demands attention & airtime.

Yeah so it's been a week since any posts in this thread. Congrats to the mods for cowardly (and succesfully) silo-ing the most important issue of our time to its own thread and the politics thread being about basically nothing but hand-wringing during a presidential election.
The Biden administration taking a massive shit on international as well as US law regarding humanitarian aid, starting conflicts with multiple Arab countries, including Iran, who aren't majority Arab but will kick our ass even harder than Iraq or Afghanistan did, and then likely handing the keys over to Trump in January is a worst-case scenario to me. But I guess I'm being a doomer about it. I just want the violence to stop on both sides. Thoughts and prayers. And so on.

You're absolutely right Pablo, its baffling to see the ass kissing and cognitive dissonance towards the biden administration and kamala. kamala also again just kicked out someone out of one of her speaking events for just asking her about the genocide but of course no one fucking talks about it. I understand that queer people and reproductive rights are at a very high risk right now but pretending we will be totally okay if kamala wins while ignoring a genocide is just ignorant. we lost roe v wade with a dem as a sitting president and he refuses to sign any executive orders to actually fucking help people. when will people understand that neither of these fucking people are on our side?? I do not want trump to win, i think he's incredibly dangerous and represents something even worse but I hate the fact that so many "blue maga" types are just completely ignoring the atrocities committed by the current administration.

I stand by what I said. I don't care how hard it was. Telling people basically don't talk about this in the politics thread was chickenshit, and I felt that way at the time, but for the sake of your feelings in particular I let it go.
