Vote for your LEAST FAVORITE fast casual restaurant.
A fast casual restaurant, found primarily in the United States and Canada, does not offer full table service, but advertises higher quality food than fast food restaurants, with fewer frozen or processed ingredients. It is an intermediate concept between fast food and casual dining.

I’m going Kenny Rogers Roasters here simply because it no longer exists in the U.S., and given the opportunity to travel to Asia, it is the last place I would eat there.

Sorry not sorry. Probably my favorite episode of Seinfeld if I had to rank em.
Quiznos is definitely fast food in the same vein as Subway but I definitely fuck with it so it stays for now.
yeah there is some crossover between fast food and fast casual. culver's has a drive through for example.
while i agree quiznos is at subway level or maybe slightly above i was curious where it would land here. i haven't eaten quiznos in ages.
I dont know the general popular consensus of Quiznos but I know they have one in the Seoul Incheon airport and I get it everytime I'm waiting for my flight. Also this gem of a classic 90s commercial.
Torchy’s Tacos are pretty dang good if you get them in the plains/Rocky mountain parts of the US. Loved it the first time I had them in Oklahoma City. They’ve since opened locations in Charlottesville and Richmond here in VA and both are aggressively mid, totally underwhelming for the price point. I won’t vote for them yet but I won’t let them get too far either
I voted for Sbarro because it's bad. But then I saw Captain D's was back on some shit. The worst.
I don't know a bunch of these, so I'll have to look at menus as the survivor moves on. I have eaten at Panda Express (bad), Sbarro (bad), Captain D's (bad), Shake Shack (f'd up my order, so bad), Firehouse (eh), Quizno's (not too good), Zaxby's (okay), Culver's (okay), Torchy's (good but probably overrated), Atlanta Bread Company (decent, ate there a few times in Mobile, AL), Moe's (eh), Blaze (decent), Chipotle (eh), McCallister's (not very good) and 5 Guys (usually pretty good).
I don't know why some of these places still exist except Americans love them some mediocre food.

I feel like now that Captain Ds is in its right league I got to say you cant go wrong with greasy fried fish and malt vinegar with a hush puppy or two.

You can go very wrong with minimum wage workers cooking your seafood.

I pray I never become a foodie.
haha
Everything in life is what you make it. Only the filthy rich can have the best of everything. But putting in even a tiny bit of effort in whatever it is that you are doing (vacation, eating, drinking, listening to music, etc.) can certainly improve what could otherwise be mundane or routine aspects of life. It's the whole living to eat vs. eating to live conundrum. Americans in general, being the crass consumers of fast/cheap/convenient shit that they are, often miss out on better aspects of life for the sake of convenience and immediacy whereas Europeans take a generally better approach to things.

Minimum wage workers are probably cooking your seafood a lot of places.

IMO Shake Shack is fine but overrated. Better than most on this list but it's still just a hamburger and a cup of melted ice cream that leaves you feeling like absolute shit afterwards.

Maybe. I don’t eat it very often. I save it for when we’re on the coast. Maybe those people are being paid as poorly idk.
Aren't you only like a couple hundred miles from the coast already? I figured any South Carolinian worth their salt (that also eats seafood) would do some low country boils from time to time. Now I'm feeling like trying to see if there are any good seafood places in Greenville - there appear to be some pretty okay places.
