I was excited for Infected Mushroom but realized I forgot about their unfortunately very clear geopolitics
Yeah… it was awesome to support Saint Levant last year and was super surprised to see the made in Palestine merch. You won’t catch me at any Israeli sets even if IM have some good tracks.
So can fit 4, maybe 5 if someone wants the floor/sleeping bag
But if I get a big group of 6-8, likely need a villa.
Where you staying?
Same AirBnB we booked this year, just me and my partner in a really nice ADU with a pool and all and really chill owners. We rebooked literally right as we left W2 this year lol
Nice, well enjoy
Maybe one day I can do an airbnb
I still do want to camp eventually, but I bet the odds get slimmer and slimmer as I get into my 30s soon
For me Friday is insanely stacked Saturday is solid Sunday is probably the least interesting day I've ever seen on a Coachella poster, by a mile
I personally don't love any of the headliners but objectively, the 4 headliners are way stronger from a popularity standpoint than last year's. Gaga, Travis, Post are all more popular than 2024's and Green Day is probably bigger than No Doubt but without the reunion affect.
They hit it out of the park again with unique or unexpected bookings. The hiphop and r&b is lacking overall but there's some sharp enough names on the hiphop side to make it passable. Not so much the r&b.
Not excited for Gaga myself but Missy b2b Gaga is amazing on paper. Can't wait to see Missy's stage because her tour was fantastic this year.
Getting Charli as a sub is a big deal as well.
I'm not sure where Travis fits because bumping any of these subs to 3rd on their day wouldn't be fair imo. My initial thought is he goes on after Green Day, but knocking Charli down to 3rd isn't much of a difference from her 2023 set

Friday Missy Elliot, the Marías, The Prodigy, Parcels, FKA twigs, Mustard, The Go-Go’s, Djo, Thee Sacred Souls, Miike Snow, Three 6 Mafia, Eyedress, Tincker, HiTech
Saturday Charli, Misfits, Clairo, T-Pain, Japanese Breakfast, Beth Gibbons, Darkside, Gustavo Dudamel, Viagra Boys, Blonde Redhead, Glass Beams, Bob Vylan,
Sunday Kraftwerk, Polo & Pan, Basement Jaxx, Arca, Circle Jerks, Amyl and the Sniffers, Boris Brejcha, Snow Strippers, Fcukers, The Beaches,
And I have no clue who half the artists on this lineup are. I really wanted a good reason to go back to this thing with how expensive it is now. This lineup does it for me.
El Malilla is helping lead the way for reggaetón Mexa. Bellakath kickstarted the movement but El Malilla might be the bigger name now and I'm happy to see him here.
While not reggaetón but we still got Ivan Cornejo, Junior H, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Los Mirlos and Judeline. Still feels a bit short for this year though. No J-pop either.
EDIT: Forgot Anitta but kinda wish they'd go with someone new there.
I am more shocked to not see Rauw Alejandro or Feid

Yup, and seems surprisingly light on latin music in general.

R&B and Latin music are both super light. International music in general seems lighter than past years, but I wonder if they did research and found all those international acts they booked in 2024 didn’t give them the returns they expected.

Wisp <3 <3 <3! I hope Kumo 99 has a Mandy Indiana moment. One of my favorite discoveries from the live stream last year
also it's deeply unfortunate we've reclaimed trance and eurodance in the last 1-2 years and yet no one wants to truly reclaim the deeply embarrassing shit. I am in desperate need of someone in the Boiler Room to play Aqua deep cuts.
I have a 4 and a 2 year old, I have been running through peak Eurodance cheese for years now.
I think the days of a quick sellout are over (for now anyway) but given that 2023 was one of the best selling years ever and 2024 was a flop, this is really 2023 vibes but with way more universally popular headliners. Travis + Yeat by itself is going to get almost every 20-30 year old guy who passed on last year back. Travis is still fucking enormous and Yeat as a third liner is fucking wild, he's a sub at Rolling Loud alongside Lil Baby and Don Toliver. Gaga, enormous. Green Day, like No Doubt, is another classic California band that will get Gen Xers in LA and Sf to step up and buy. Post Malone, pretending this isn't happening. Charli isn't a headliner but probably headliner level crowd.
Bad Bunny was huge but BLACKPINK and Frank were more niche. Charli will draw better than BLACKPINK and Frank. Getting her as a sub is just amazing value for sales, this was the smartest booking Coachella could do with a sub spot.
When it comes to rap, Metro was Metro but coming off They Not Like Us and the Pop Out, I know damn well Mustard is gunning for that spot, and then GloRilla and Yeat are way more fucking popular and hot right now than Boogie, Kid Laroi, and Suicide Boys, and Megan has that crossover appeal that none of them had either.
Keinemuzik is a force of nature at this point and their fans will travel to be part of the next big livestream. Then you have them hitting the exact flavor of electronic popping off right now and getting all the relevant names, whether it be Sara, Sammy, C&S, Mau P.
Then all the crazy rare shit which Portola is proving can move tickets as long as its bundled together.
I am struggling to see why this won't sell well if 2023 did.
Also given that the rest of the headliners and subs look like first choices, was Megan --> Post originally supposed to be Rufus (tour dates point to Coach falling through) --> Fred?
Has any done Outstanding in the Field and was it worth it?
Is there any flexibility to move once settimes hit?
Yes, we did it in 2016 or 17. It's pretty cool, I was actually disappointed with the food but it was a great experience. I recall missing someone I really wanted to see because it was kinda time consuming at like 5pm. I did sit somewhat across from Jaden Smith which was interesting. You get VIP for the day, so that's a nice perk that'd be around 200$ itself.

Never done OITF because of the prime time commitment, but be on the lookout closer to for some of the other special dining options if you are looking to splurge. We did a two-hour omakase in this hidden sushi pop up bar Sunday '23 in the afternoon when there wasn't really anybody we wanted to see. It was an incredible experience, really intimate (no more than 12-14 people), and the other people eating there were so fucking cool to talk to (and way out of my league lmao) - a bunch of members of Blink 182's team and then the Hinterland fest founders. They served you cocktails in this wild pop-up zen garden that you walked through to get to the restaurant which felt like an actual high-end sushi restaurant with a wrap-around abr, all of this hidden in the main stage GA beer garden. They didn't have anything like that last year because I don't think VIP type tickets sold well enough, but the timing of these things works way better than OITF and the experiences are cooler imo. Plus it was all you can drink sake and so I was in an incredible headspace for 2manydjs right after lmao.
My last early morning thought is that if Coachella has been a preview of the Portola top lines, it feels like Portola is now an audition for Coachella for the bottom lines. Sammy Virji, Chase & Status, Sara Landry, Interplanetary Criminal, AG Cook, Horsegiirl, Tinlicker, Bohmer, and Glass Beams were like the most hyped performances post festival that way overdrew their stages, the only one missing from that group that I can remember is Joy Orbison.
Also re: Portola, Snow Strippers was the worst fucking live act I've maybe seen ever but I also feel like their fans wouldn't care.
I'm going w1 this year because I want to spend Easter with my kids, but I definitely prefer W2 simply for the fact that watching the livestream of shows I don't plan on seeing gives me a wider sense of what Coachella is like that year but also that + the reviews from W1 can put shows on your radar that you weren't planning on seeing. Jon Batiste I had zero interest in but after the livestream, we had to go and it was one of my favorite Coachella sets ever.
The grass has been way better fyi. W2 2023 was ridiculous, without exaggeration Friday and Saturday felt like W1 grass, I don't know how they did it. Last year wasn't as good as that but way better than the W2 grass pre-Covid.
