I could see them being end of second line but they're nowhere near the Justice level billing
I am not a huge Empire of the Sun fan compared to Gesaffelstein and Justice and I would argue they are more a bit more popular. I know less “hardcore music fans” that are much more familiar with EotS
Also curious to hear people’s thoughts on Skrillex coming back alone next year. Maybe a bigger push for dubstep with Nero + Skream & Benga? I’ve been enjoying his latest 2 releases - TAKA has been playing in my head. (Though both are nowhere close to dubstep lol)
Knowing "Walking on a Dream" but not having name recognition for Gesaffelstein or Justice doesn't mean that people are "much more familiar" with EotS. It just means that they had a very popular song 15 years ago.
If anyone wants to feel really old, there was as much time between Surfer Rosa and Pixies' 2004 Coachella reunion and the XX (self-titled) and Coachella 2025.
Returning to the Desert needs to be...Empire of the Sun..all 3 times I have seen that Coachella (11, 14, & 17) have been all been amazing. Highlights of each year!!!
Idk I just see them being billed like Justice, Chem Bros, or Gesa. Returning to the Desert seems to be reserved for a co-headliner when the headliner that day wants to be a diva and not share the top line.
So we have had..Featuring Sunday Service on Easter....Returning to The Desert: Calvin Harris....And...No Doubt. Maybe next year is..The Final Performances of Childish Gambino. Could happen, but then he would miss out on the rest of festival season. But just a thought really.

SHM also got "Returning to the Desert" before Kanye dropped out
I'm still somewhat annoyed that they didn't put "Welcoming to the Desert" instead of "And.." for ND

I also forgot "Featuring" 88rising's Double Happiness on Saturday...RIP 2020. Also my intention was for the "final" line up poster....barring anyone dropping from the lineup

Anyone see the size of Chappell Roan’s crowd at Boston Calling? She seems to be really blowing up right now.
She has been on that path since she started her run with Olivia back in Feb. she gained 15 mil spotify listeners since then. Last year her tours were way sold out already but the album hadnt come out til the fall so nobody was noticing. I hope she doesnt make the mistake of doing too much right now. Yeah, everyone can see she will go onto bigger and better things but it doesnt have to be some Sam Smith shit where you started in tiny clubs and get to arenas in the same album cycle and you cant go back.

i know a lot of people are still banking on dua, but from what i heard, a tour was supposed to be announced already but they are reworking venues as the new album didnt do nearly as well as planned.
feels like the likelihood of dua is getting smaller and smaller, and gaga would be the perfect act to go in place of her.
