i know a lot of people are still banking on dua, but from what i heard, a tour was supposed to be announced already but they are reworking venues as the new album didnt do nearly as well as planned.
feels like the likelihood of dua is getting smaller and smaller, and gaga would be the perfect act to go in place of her.
Watched a bit of Chromatica on HBO and came out of it with a “the thing with Gaga is that she had a taste issue.” I like a lot of her catalog but I’m not sure why you would open with Bad Romance in what is ostensibly a coffin restricting her ability to move, and to come out as an alien (?) during her very emotional A Star Is Born songs?

my guess was the first 3 songs wouldve been clunkier in the "chromatica" section of the tour. the first 3 songs are listed as a prelude.
but to be fair, the chromatica tour seemed a bit off compared to her previous tours. this one was fun, but seems like others had much more thought into them. still i think she'd put on a great show if shes actually given the time to plan for a full set rather than be the replacement headliner

The tour got postponed 3 times. Set list changed and production was minimal so they could get on the road fast whenever they got the green light (final version of the tour is called “museum of brutality” - split into 4 acts) . At some points here were rumors she was doing a secret chromatica set for Coachella 2020 and that also was obviously scrapped.

Caribou Fall tour - given his relationship with Goldenvoice, would say highly likely. Yune Pinku is opening and I could see her landing in Sonora next year as well. She is great live.
That new Eminem single was ASS. Hope he's not being considered.
"My transgender cat's Siamese, identifies as black, but acts Chinese"
What are we doing here?
Haven’t listened yet but god what terrible cover art lmao. Doubt he’s being considered, was that a rumor? I just listened to a few of his older songs at the gym the other day and thought to myself that I would love to see him pop out like he did during the Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg year, but I’d get bored during a full set if he played anything later than like 2010.
Eminem is never headlining coachella again lol, wouldnt even include him in this discussion. i honestly think we may not get a rap headliner next year unless like Kendrick Lamar or Jay Z drops

I very much hope this is the case. Would love one of these two but cannot think of another realistic rap headliner that I’d enjoy.
Considering this festival booked No Doubt as a headliner and gave "Sublime" a prominent slot this year I don't think Eminem would be out of the question if they are trying to go further down the nostalgia track.

And it’s not like he didn’t headline on a decade worth of trash output last time he played

while that is a good point, the discourse surround LGBTQ+ rights has taken far more of a forefront in 2024 versus 2018 and i dont see them wanting to attract the negative press of having a rapper that still has transphobic bars in his new music

If he hadn’t already headlined I’d almost think he was likely, but given he’s already headlined I think there’s a zero percent chance he’s back. Maybe less than zero.
We should probably spend 20 pages debating the idea though.
What does everyone think of The Marias’ new album?
It's fine. I enjoyed the first half more than the second half. There's definitely standout tracks, but it's probably my least favorite of their projects on first listen. Who knows how I'll feel on 2nd, 3rd listen or even a couple months from now. A lot of Cinema tracks had to grow on me too. Still would love to have them back and on the second line
