Oh, no! oleander, I just went to the Crocs site and they don't have the MJ's in purple. How about Lavender? They have some cool colors, though, but ack... no purple.

I don't know about this debate guys. I'm a die-hard fan of Dr. Martin and have had my Jerusalem Cruisers for 11 years...that's right...11 years. I wear them every summer and sported them at Roo in '04 & '06. Granted they are a bit on the heavy side, they don't slip on anything and are made just short of being welded together.
To tell the truth, I've been a closet Croc admirer from what I hear about their comfort for a while but like others have said, I just can't see myself wearing them because they look goofy to me. But then again, I don't buy clothes but maybe once a decade because I think everything looks goofy on me. Hell, what's $40?? I can spend that at a bar in half an hour without blinking an eye and still have nothing to show for it...so I guess I'm gonna come out of the closet(on the Crocs you sicko) and actually buy a pair and if I don't like them I can always give them to someone.
i got my crocs about a few weeks ago and i could probably count on one hand the days that i havent worn them. they are soooo comfortable and are good on all kinds of surfaces. i walked my dog through some rough hills and my crocs didnt give me any problems. i wear them barefoot mostly, they are so easy. slip on and go and they feel great. felt good when i got them and even better after they got broken in, the look grows on you and really becomes non relavent after a while bc you get used to it and they feel so good.
btw i got the "beach" version. i liked them better than the "caymans" and "athens" personally.

Good luck on your new choice!
Man, lauraroo...you are just too much!
The lady I work with who was wearing the mary janes said they rub her toes too much and she likes the beach ones better. I may just go with the originals...but I've decided against purple...better stick with ones that will look better with outfits in the future.
If they rub her toes too much, she prolly got the wrong size, just wait and go to a store that has a bunch of different styles and sizes and try them all on. My MJ'sdon't rub when I walk, and when I am sitting still my toes don't touch anything but the footbed of the shoe, and I have a wide foot.

Personally, I wear my chacos the whole weekend. But by Sunday my feet get really dry from the nylon straps, so I change to something else. But usually I suck it up.
Just got back from buying my first pair of crocs today...can't wait to try them out at 'Roo! If you hate the look of the regular crocs gals, and want a little height (like me, I'm short!) great news...croc sandals with a wedge heel! Too cute, I got the bronze/brown combo so the mud won't show so bad. Sooooo comfy, doesn't feel like you are wearing a heel at all. Love them!!

I went ahead and bought some brown crocs yesterday. I took that plunge and went against my hatred of these shoes...now the only thing I have to say is, "What other color do I want?" Bonnaroo...here I come!
Edit: I even talked my boyfriend into getting a pair...he's in love with them, too!
What about the Prima crocs? I'm one of those people who is against the regular crocss aesthetically but I'm looking for comfort. Would the Primas be good for 'Roo or should I just suck it up and get the Mary Janes/regular crocs?
Yes, the primas are another stylish choice in the crocs line. They look a little closed in and not as airy for a summer festival. Plus, if you start slip sliding in the mud there are no straps to help keep your shoes on. I gotta vote for the Mary Jane's. I do like the primas and I will probably get some of those for my "dress up" crocs!
I thought the crocs were the ugliest shoes I had ever seen until I actually went to the store and tried on a few pairs. Now I see them in a whole new light. I love my MJ's and I think they are cute as can be. I never whouul have thought that I would feel this way before I tried them on tho'.

That's funny, I now have work crocs, festival crocs, and dress up crocs. A year ago I was in the "they are so ugly, but maybe they could be good for roo and only roo" crowd. 3 days at Bonnaroo with no blisters made me a convert, even my Birkenstocks give me blisters sometimes.

I know what you mean, man. I live in my DM's with four pairs on the go right now (1460's and 1461's) but I currently have a foot injury (plantar fasciitis) and the podiatrist told me to pick up some Crocs instead of walking around barefoot at home. I'm now a convert and will certainly have them at Roo (though my blue 1460's will also be there for a day or two). Just like wearing marshmallows on your feet (with great arch support which is what I need).

I have the "beach" variety and I love them! I wore them all weekend last year, came home, rinsed them off and have worn them almost everyday since. They are great shoes.

Any the beach ones are good in the mud/rain at Roo? How are they with keeping your feet dry, or do your feet get wet, but they're still comfortable?

Your feet will get wet but, that's going to happen regardless(rain, sweat, shakedown's mysterious puddles). They're well-ventilated and non-absorbant, so they dry-out pretty quickly. They're lightweight, durable as hell and very comfortable, so they're ideal in my opinion. And, when you're done, they rinse completely clean in a matter of seconds. I never thought that I would but, I LOVE them! They are the PERFECT Bonnaroo shoe!

Although crocs are the shiz....I will be wearing my Chacos and another pair of sandals that I just bought from Surplus Supply on closeout. Plus, I work in healthcare and wear them alot. They are made out of the most amazinly comfortable and lightweight materials. They also make my feet sweat, even w/ out socks. So, I'll probably reserve them for the rainy weather and keep my toes open in the good....
They seem to have the same footbed. Best thing to do is find a store that has them and try a few pairs on in different styles and sizes==They are supposed to fit with plenty of space all around.
We're having a cold snap here and I'm wearing socks with my crocs for the first time. Still the most comfy shoe I have ever had on my tootsies.

Socs and Crocs...socs and crocs. Yes, today I'm sportin' the socs and crocs as well. I love these friggin' shoes! I'm gonna buy another pair. I love how I can just wash and dry them in a matter of seconds and be done with it.
I am lucky to have a store nearby that has all types of these shoes...that way I can try them on and if they don't have the color I want I just go online and get them. But I definitely agree with trying them on first. I didn't really like the Athens...my feet are wide with short toes (I guess)...and the Athens seemed to have too much room at the top...I guess that's where normal toes go...
