i just bought a pair of tan crocs. i've heard too many people say exactly the phrase that they "never take them off" and I haven't heard anyone who owned a pair say something bad.
I put mine on a half hour ago and haven't taken them off yet
they are all pretty much weightless. they are incredibly lite. i like the normal ones you see all the times. the clog ones. they have the strap if you need it, and they have holes that drain water and mud.
I just got my crocs.....i swore i never would, but i broke down and figured it would benefit my tootsies greatly ;D They're actually pretty cute....i got the little mary janes.....in brown and i had to get a size 5....whoa! (cinderella anyone)...hahaha ;D
chacos. they are expensive but great. jsut make sure you bring a pair of sneakers as well. it feels nice to put on your sneakers when your feet are all tired and it gets surprisingly cold at night so it also helps keep he feet warm. i did that last year and never got blisters.

I love my crocs! I wear them all year! My gf bought them for me before Roo last year. I hated them! I wore them for a week or so, just to make her happy. I fell in love with them! They're light-weight! They're durable! and..... They're comfortable as a motherf*cker!
(and they rinse totally clean in seconds!)

Ok, so I'm interested in the taking the Croc challenge. I thought they would be great for Roo, too, because of the ease of cleaning...and how else will I ever get to wear purple shoes?
I read some people recommend the goldbond...do your feet slide around in the shoes and that's why they need powder?
I tried a pair on at a local outdoor shop, and the ones I tried on had raised areas on the inside bottom that hurt my feet...do you feel these the entire time you're wearing them? I can't imagine they would be comfortable with those things sticking up into my feet. Does anyone know about this?

I guess the raised areas are to massage your feet or something. I am wearing crocs as I type, and I forgot about the bumps in the shoes until I read that post, so I guess I am saying that crocs are all good, and the bumps are inconsequential.

I have had my black Mary Jane Crocs for a week now and I am officially a huge fan and Crocs super nerd. I have told everyone how wonderful they are....ad nauseum, I'm sure.
I haven't taken them off except to sleep and bathe, and I am even considering getting in the shower with them 'cause they are covered in dusty yellow pine pollen (just like everything in eastern SC at this time of year).
I have been rinsing them off (on my feet of course), whenever I do a little work out in the yard. The first time I rinsed off, the soles of the shoes stuck tight to the sidewalk and steps, but my foot inside slipped all over the place. Then I remembered I had put lotion all over my feet that morning. Mistake. Without lotion, my feet held steady in the shoes when wet.
The little bumps haven't bothered me because I know that with each step my tootsies are getting a free massage! IF they had, I might have worn some socks in the beginning. I can forsee a time when I will wear socks to keep my feet warm, but it is in the mid 80's almost every day here now so I don't have a problem keeping my feet warm now.
They have lots of different styles on the Croc site. And, plenty of kudos from happy Croc wearers. One guy had run 3 marathons in the same pair of blue crocs!! Amazing. One of the first "testimonials" that I saw was from a satisfied Croc wearer who had just seen them for the first time at a music festival in TN called Bonnaroo! She promptly went home and bought a pair. That sold me, so I went out that day and found "my" Crocs.
I have walked a few miles in them now and I haven't had any breaking in blisters. It is almost like going barefoot at the beach in the sand by the water. There is no breaking in because they aren't supposed to touch your foot at the toe or in the back or on the sides either. They are very loose, but stay on beautifully as you walk.
They were originally developed as boat shoes, but they absolutely took off and now they are for everyone. The styles they are developing show that. The non slip feature makes them perfect for jobs of all sorts that formerly required spending hours in uncomfortable non slip shoes. They make Rx ones for diabetics and others with foot problems....I could go on and on so I had better stop and leave you with the link for the Croc site so I can go take a shower in my shoes!

Wow, lauraroo...some karma for being so thorough!!
And, thanks to you, too, spookymonster and augustwest!
I guess I'll take the plunge and get some. I swore I'd never get them, but oh well. I'd rather have comfy feet that can be cleaned easily...plus have the first pair of purple shoes in my life! WE ALL WIN! Haha!
I'm a Birkenstock man but I picked up Crocs for when the weather gets a little wet at festivals. They are great for wearing everywhere, as everyone has said, but if your one of the people who can't see themselves wearing them then just get them for the rainy weather. I really didn't wear them at all at All Good (weather was perfect) but then I went to moe.down and it was a muddy mess. Crocs were definitely the best thing to have when things got sloppy. I didn't have to worry about tip-toeing around mud and everything. Just walked right through it and then rinsed off afterwards.
Just a short update, I promise. The shower with Crocs was delightful. No slip sliding away at all, even when the soap and shampoo came down and covered my feet. Also, due to my slow drain, there was about 2 inches of water and soap after a while and still no slip sliding. They are almost dry even on the inside and it has only been 15 min. since my shower. Just in case any of you want a minute by minute update of my no life. lol
My sister bought some Crocs about 6 months ago and I thought they were the ugliest shoes I had ever seen (sometimes, I don't get out much, hehe) and I swore I would never, ever wear them. They weren't even that comfortable 'cause hers were too large for me. I saw a sporting goods store sign that read "new spring Crocs styles and colors just in". I went in and saw the Mary Jane's and fell in love as soon as I put them on my feet. Then I talked another lady into trying them on and she bought some too. And then guess what? As soon as my sis' saw my cool Mary Jane's we had to tromp all over town to find some for her.
Now I think even the bigest chunkiest ones are so cool. Especially on the men who have the kahunas to wear them. ;D
I just bought meself a pair of brown mary janes....so cute I'm wondering where I can find a Camo pair for my man....I've seen them around......I must get them!

I was thinking of the Mary Jane's because a lady I work with here is wearing them today and I think they're cuter than the regular ones. (And, her name is actually Mary Jane! haha!) I'm thinking brown so I can wear them with everything I have.
Does anyone know if these run smaller than the beach ones? I tried on the beach kind and I was a 6 in those (7.5 normal shoes). Are they wide like the regular ones (cause I have some wide feet and have trouble finding shoes that allow room)?
Also, can you flip up the strap if you want to go strapless?
The straps can be flipped up for around the house or camp when you want a slip in. But they are not designed to work that way and they look funny. They are slimmer than the beach crocs. They fit your foot a little closer. But even so, you are supposed to have room inside the shoe so that your toes are about 1/4" to1/2" from the front of the shoe. They say that you should have 1/4" to 1/2" in the back too, but my heel fits comfortably in the heel place. The back strap has plenty of room to stick my finger in, though, which is what they recommend. I wear an 8 in the Crocs and most other shoes I wear 8.5. Be sure you don't get them too tight or they won't be as comfy. I couldn't fit comfortably in the Beach model because instead of whole sizes, it comes in S,M. L, XL. One was a little too small and one was a little too large. The Caymen is just like the Beach, however, and it comes in whole sizes. I have a wide foot and the MJ's just barely touch the sides of my feet.
Be sure you walk around in different sizes and styles so you can feel the difference. You will know which size is right for you. My daughter needed a size 12 so we had to order hers off the internet 'cause she HAD to have the red ones! Don't mess around and get the wrong size just to get the right color. I know... They are not but a couple of dollars more for shipping to order them. When you are at the store walking around you are there to find your correct size, you can buy later. We got Katie's from eBay.
