Do they have any special arrangements for ice in VIP?
It's never been a problem for me in GA in the past with a good cooler, but if they offered it up free in there, or at least had it readily for sale, I'd feel much better.

andrea said last year they had people coming around selling ice directly to their campsite, i believe. it's the life, for sure

Didn't read all the pages, so sorry if this has been asked, but...
Other than the stands on the sides of the Main Stage and the Second Stage, is there a closer VIP area for these stages? Seats are nice, but I like to get close if possible, and I would assume VIP should be able to get the closest seats.
Aslo, in the tents, is that little elevated area near the soundboard the VIP seating?

Yes, the first day the waitstaff from the VIP hospitality tent drove up and down the "streets" on golf carts selling ice. After the first day, it was sold in the hospitality tent. I'm not sure what the price was, though, because we never bought any.
I just read all 9 pages of this thread... and I would like to thank you all for convincing me that VIP is for me! I would love to see some more photos if anyone has them.
Yea, I think me and my crew already had out minds made up. We are going VIP also. Hopefully be close to the tent only, coolest spot at the ROO, Inforoo camp section.

I'm so glad you asked for more photos. I took over 400, so here are some more related to VIP ...
This is The Rebirth Brass Band during the VIP party Thursday night - we were able to get as close as we wanted. There was also a comedian, but my pictures of him didn't turn out well.
- another pic of the backyard. See the girl on the left in the khaki shorts & white top? That's one of the waitstaff. The guys in the yellow shirts in the center of the pic are security. They checked wristbands, but not much else.
- on the horizon you can see tent-only.
- neighbors.
- here are some of our other neighbors visiting our shade tent. In the back, beyond my Jetta, you can see the bathrooms (black trailer).
- entrance to the VIP hospitality tent. See that big air-conditioner?
- our camp. In 2005 when we went GA, we couldn't even open up the doors on my Jetta halfway. As you can see, there's a big difference in VIP.
- this is what the main stage is like before the gates open.
- heading toward the "secret place" where we picked up our VIP information.

One other thing I noticed that was different in VIP compared to GA is that people in VIP knew how to set up their camps like pros. For some reason people in GA think their guy-lines need to shoot out from their tent four feet at the base - it was trecherous walking in GA at night.

so true! maneuvering through tent only, even with a flash light, was a little scary. especially in various states of inebriation!

Was always a good way to meet new people and make new friends.

this thread, hands down, has convinced me to go vip in 07. i honestly wasn't even thinking about it before reading this - i think you had me at ac bathroom.
Knoxville and I Had discussed after last year after talking with ohter inforooers that we in VIP, but I think that this thread seals the deal. I think we may even be able to bring more to experience a little of what it is to go to the Roo

if me and my group of friends go vip this year, how do we get our vip camping spots next to each other? do we arrive in convoy like for general camping?
You can do convoy, but as long as you're getting there within a few hours of VIP opening (they start giving out bracelets at 9am Thurs) than you really won't have a problem. In fact, you can even move around a lot once you're there. If you can find some InforooVIP'ers with RV's, you can make your own little camping world.
what do u mean if you move around alot? like once they park you, you can move your car and spot around?
yeah, they're not packed in like sardines in vip, so you can actually move your car and re-locate if you want. if you look at the aerial map you can see how much room/empty space they had.
I'm gonna pipe in here -- did GA once, but never again. "Moving Around" -- we had six guys & three cars, shuttling back and forth within VIP -- to the AC bathroom, the mess tent, "off the reservation" to the Waffle House for breakfast: we even took our lone newbie down Bushy Branch at midday -- much to his horror (and VIP relief).
