Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Sure- a group near us came and parked a massive RV/bus and their pickup and then proceeded to take the pickup all over the place out of Roo. Personally I'd rather stay "in character" in Roo, but they offered to get stuff for us while they were out- it was awesome.
And to answer the question, there was an area roughly the size of half a football field with NO ONE in it where you could play Frisbee, run around drunk or just pass out and tan.

A game of VIP kickball would be most excellent.
We're going VIP this year. My old (27-year-old) bones can't handle GA anymore. My friend is coming for the first time, and at almost 40 years of age, he said he would only go if we went VIP, which is fine by me.
oh my goodness it will be nice to have some open space when walking back to my tent in vip... rather than what I did last year... tripping over guy lines and falling flat on my face numerous times as I tried to find my way home in tent only (at least I only do that in the dark though.)
Hi, my husband and I are thinking of going to Bonnaroo this year, and taking the VIP option. We are Aussies who will be in the States for a conference in St Louis the week after Bonnaroo, so we figured we would take the opportunity to visit "Mecca". We have our own great festivals here on the East Coast of Australia (we are from Brisbane), but nothing the size of Bonnaroo.
So we are convinced that VIP is the way to go (partly thanks to this thread) - because we want to see as many bands as possible, and like the idea of clean loos and showers.
So here are a couple of questions: How quickly do VIP passes sell out? Do we need to keep our eye out for the on sale date and purchase that day? Also, how much room do you get for parking, pitching a tent etc. We would probably hire a large SUV through Hertz, and pitch a tent next to it. That way we could sleep in the back of the SUV if it it rains heavily. Is a large SUV like a Ford Expedition still with the car rather than RV category?
Sorry to bombard you with such trivial questions - but being first timers, and from overseas, it's a little daunting. Cheers, whiskeygirl

My gf and I are currently in the process of selling our house (in Knoxville) and are probably using the proceeds to go VIP this year. This will be our first year going this route. It does seem that the VIP tix sell-out rather quickly, so I would try to snag them pretty soon (after release, of course). From everything that i've heard, VIPs do get more than enough room for an Expedition (or anything you don't have to tow, for that matter) and considering that it rains almost every year, that's probably the way to go. I think you'll really dig it regardless, and I hope to see you there. Peace and karma just for making the trip!
Hey, thanks for the karma and advice. We are really looking forward to Bonnaroo if we can make it happen with our schedule etc. Last year's lineup was excellent - would love to have been there. The past 3-4 months have been brilliant here for bands (have seen Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon, The Mountain Goats, Okerville River, Joanna Newsom and Neko Case in Brisbane so far - missed Modest Mouse and Band of Horses, unfortunately; but still have Wilco and Calexico coming up!) So a trip to Bonnaroo would top off an excellent year for us! I know you guys probably get a lot of these acts on a regular basis - but it can be a long time between drinks down here sometimes! Well, after a rather profitable day at the poker table yesterday, I have all my VIP money set aside. Now is when I'm starting to get really excited, knowing that I have the money and that the announcement is soon on the way. Huzzah!
can friends from GA come and hang out at our VIP campsite? maybe pass out too?
nope, that's the only real drawback for me actually. your friends can't get into VIP to visit you without a VIP wristband. you can however, do the opposite and pass out at their camp site all you like! (and if they are in tent-only it's definitely not a long walk)

I think if we put our heads together and try real hard, we could find a way.
If your in VIP Tara, then we need to make that our mission to try and sneak a GA into VIP. As bad as I hate to, I will reluctantly volunteer to be the test subject!! ;D
For those who have been VIP in the past, are there any vegetarian options with the free food? Did you try them and were they tasty? I'm in for the showers alone, but not a meat eater so would need to plan for that. Being that close it would be easy to cook. Last year's walk from BBFE was brutal.

haha ok, i accept this mission ;D actually i already have some ideas, but it may not be safe to reveal them in public, as the powers that be could be lurking

I remember cooked veggies at every meal. The majority of meals had salad and bread. Sometimes there was rice or pasta (with beef tips, but they were separated). There were granola bars and cookies. That's all I can think of right now.
