Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
^^^ That's what I'm wondering too... Is there a usual place for Camp Inforoo, or does it just kind of happen wherever?
Yeah, we'll have flyers in windshields and at least one flag to look out for, but I wonder about the craziness of people entering and setting up and space filling later Thursday and if we'll actually be able to find or get anywhere near Camp Inforoo... Anyone have any thoughts or reassurances for this roobie?

Have only posted once before (earlier today) and wanted to say see you in the VIP area!! Is there a general meeting place for listers in the VIP?? see you opn thursday! bob
Look for the flag and look for flyers, you'll see I think we're everywhere
<----First time poster and soon to be Roo first timer. Of course, I am completely pumped about the entire experience coming in a few days!
I'm coming with one other friend, so it's nice to know there will be a forum for meeting and watching shows with other folks. Since we're all VIPs at least we have something in common, right?
^^ thank goodness you're not a duke fan! We're really looking forward to hanging out with everyone too. Fourth time Roo'er, first time VIP'er! Last year we had unfriendly neighbors; hoping to meet lots of great folks this time around!
Hi everyone I asked this on the "convince me..." thread but it got lost down the page.
Regarding the VIP directions provided, is anyone planning to modify them a little bit? Specifically, I'm coming down I-24 from the Nashville direction and it seems like getting off at the exit they suggest is too early. Last time I went (GA in '04) we took our own back way and got off at the next exit no problem.
Also, when you get close to the GA entrances is there a separate lane for thru traffic and VIP or anything?

my guess would be that they have us take the early exit to avoid the traffic on the 24. i came in on the shuttle late thursday afternoon last year so i really have no idea how bad the driving conditions actually get

I'm not sure I understand your question, but the intersection of Exit 114 and Route 41 is where the HIE is. We took Exit 114 from I-40E (big "VIP EXIT HERE" signs), took the bridge over I-24, and made a left onto Campground Road. It took at while because traffic was packed tight, but it's right on the exit; not too early, not too late.
VIP has its own entrance through the backroads/neighborhoods. You will not hit any GA traffic between the HIE and the gate.
Oh, this might be helpful to others: At the interstection of Campground Road and Route 41, there's a gas station (just south of HIE). That's where we filled up one last time before camping.
I am SO psyched to meet you all. One thing we hadn't talked about that would be obvious is an Inforoo reunion for the VIP party! We could command a nice lil' dance section for eating, carousing and enjoying an early meet-up!
I think that sounds like a great idea, Skew. Hell, that's how/where I met you last year. I'll wear my Inforoo shirt Thursday night. If others do too, maybe a group will form.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

Hey VIP Inforoosters! ohmygosh, roo is ONE WEEK away. So, I had contacted stairwell with our group's info a while back, but it looks like she's dropped out (sorry stairwell! GL on the move!). Put us (2 cars, 5 'roosters) down under VIP tent camping. We'll be at HIE around 9 a.m., which sounds like a popular time... we'll definitely grab a flyer and see you all there! Our camp will be easily identified by the pirate/latvia flags seen in TickTrix's pic from last year - stop by mornings and we'll twist you up some pancakes. I'll wear my yellow Inforooster shirt from last year on Thu. to facilitate some random encounters. Hooray for Bonnarooooooo!!!

OK thanks but I'll clarify because I don't think the VIP directions are that much of a secret these days anyway. They instruct you to get off I-24 at Exit 97, I'm just talking about waiting to get off I-24 until Exit 105. I don't think the traffic has been backed up on I-24 past Exit 105 since 2002 or maybe 2003.
My question regarding GA traffic was how much I'll battle just trying to get to the HIE from 41 (thru Manchester).
Thanks for the gas station tip, I didn't know that!
I took the route Sunday just to see. Getting off at exit 97 like the instructions say puts you thru a lot of driving thru downtown Manchester. Exit 114 is right by the HIE. I e-mailed Bonnaroo about this and asked if 114 would be shut down and why use exit 97. My reply was to follow the directions. WTF? The locals say they shut some of the exits down.

Yeah I can say from previous years that it's not a good idea to get off I-24 at the closest exits (111 & 114). That's where the traffic jam starts.
Last yr I followed the VIP directions just fine -- you basically run parallel to I-24 and avoid the fest traffic. Came in around 6pm Thurs and really didn't go thru much traffic/many stoplights.

Alright, more pirate flags. Since you will be at the HIE before 10 you can be with the original group that will roll in. The first group can set up base. I will try to be in that first group also and we can have the pirate flags be our marker.
Count two more in that will be at the HIE about 9 on Thursday. No marked shirts to wear, but you should be able to identify us with our "what in the world is going on" deer in the headlights look.
hahaha, i didn't realize until now that the 'Roo takes place in Central Time, so we'll gain an hour on our arrival time. Probably about 11am or so. At least I figured out the time difference now and not after completely missing Clutch!
We'll look for the inforoo shirts, flyers and pirate flags. Be on the lookout for a big bald doofus (me) and a cute little redhead (kellyo).

We bought VIP tickets and a hotel package on the first day they went on sale (which after reading this board is an oxymoron and pretty lame).
We decided that we would use the hotel room as an insurance policy and camp most of the weekend (in case of rain, or wanting to sleep somewhere in the heat of the morning as a recharge).
The problem is we thought there would be a shuttle, which now I understand there isn't unless you bought the Roo complete package.
My question if anyone knows or has done this before:
Is it not worth it to leave the grounds at all or is there the possibility to leave via car/cab easily on early morning Friday, Saturday, Sunday if you are in the VIP campgrounds?
Thanks for any info. And yeah feel like we wasted some cash but trying to make the best of it.
