Hi! Late to the party, but a Bonnaroo virgin doing car/tent camping. Thanks a TON to everyone who has been answering questions. Sat down and read the whole thread, today. Think I have it almost all covered, thanks to your replies, but for one question:
I know there is a gasoline station near the exit from the interstate (and I do plan to take my last opportunity before going in, to fill up), but is getting gas an issue on Sunday night? Just asking in case for some reason it takes much longer to get in and I burn more than I expect, getting to my place in VIP. Thanks in advance!

No, the drive won't use up any gas (it's maybe a mile or so), but I like to fill up in case I need to start the car a lot during the weekend. Better safe than sorry, but a half tank should be fine, too.
Regarding the super sekrit VIP entrance: I understand that the VIP parking lots are off limits to GA, but the secret entrance just leads to the common access roads, right? If someone from GA tried to get in, would they let them (and then direct them to the GA parking lots) or would they turn them away entirely?
Like others said, GAs will be turned away. At HIE they will put a VIP sticker on your car so you will be easily identifed as belonging there.
I'm curious too. For at least one day I plan to camp by the main stage all day, and basically don't wanna bring too much. So if I walk over with a few cans in a groshery bag (or paper bag) will they look?
I was only searched (backpack) on the first day when using the VIP exit over by the arch. After that, no one even looked at us except to make sure we had a proper wristband.

Good to know, thanks.
Actually I likely won't drink during the day. I'll likely save my energy and drink during the late night.
(not sure I'll be able to take over enough beer for 4 hours though ;D)
I'm heading out tomorrow after work...hard to believe seems like i was just buying my tickets last week. That was a quick 90+days! We will be arriving at the H.I. sometime before check in on Thursday. We are doing a dry run on Wed. just to know where we are going with the big ass RV! I look forward to meeting everyone on here. You all have been a huge help to this Roobie! Everyone be safe, don't speed and party like rock stars!
All right, I got tons of goodies for Camp Inforoo tent.........Lots of snacks, candy, gum, ligters, blunt wraps, energy drinks, and some other goodies..........All free from work, I gather like squirrels gather nuts, the week prior to Roo. I cannot wait to meet everyone here and hang out. We will be at HIE around 2 or so, I know it is too early to check in, but will probably go to Wallmart until check in........Confirmed the room at the HIE today, just like to be safe......
The showers are very small, like three feet by three feet with a shower curtain. There was a hook, so be sure to take a separate bag to put your dirty clothes in and hang them from the hook, because there's no place to put them otherwise.
So what you are going to do is bring your clean clothes in a bag to hang while showering so it stays drys, but you'll want to bring a totally separate bag to throw your dirty clothes in so that you aren't limited to just the one bag with the clean clothes - you don't want to throw the dirties on top of the clean ones. Wear your flip-flops in the shower, you know, to keep the cooties away. And the ledge in the shower unit itself is super, super small, so only bring in what you really need. I think I brought either a shampoo or a conditioner that was full-size, so I had to set it on the floor of the shower, otherwise, travel-size stuff works best.

They said that Garnier was sponsoring the showers, this year. So, until it runs out, I'm presuming there might be shampoo and conditioner dispensers in there. Naturally, bring your own, too. But it may not be an issue, immediately.

Hey all,
I'm not so sure my cell will work in the US, so I might be OUT for the VIP Inforoo meetup. Although if you see a silver Civic with an Ontario plate feel free to come by and say hi - we don't bite.
Yep that's the back of our heads! (bonnie & daniel) You'll see us somewhere in VIP. We won't be in my Volvo this time, expect an older blazer with maroon and gray coloring. Along with the small tent we had last year we also picked up one of these:

Howdy everyone:
Been running around like a loon trying to get everything prepared this last day or so, but wanted to stop and leave one last message. Looking forward to meeting everyone from Inforoo if our paths cross. Like leaffan, also will have Ontario plates, red sunfire, if we're lounging around, all you inforoo'ers are more then welcome to drop by for a cold Canadian pint!
I always wore my bathing suit, flip flops, and a towel to the showers. You could either keep your bathing suit on, or take it off. I also only brought a small shampoo and a bar of soap (Basis, which is also good for your face) As for conditioner, I brought the "spray on and leave-in" kind and combed it out back at my tent.
^^^ Are you lobster man or the other guy? Lobster guy looks happy, but that things gotta be hot. I could not imagine that during Jazz fest.
I think that the speculation might be Old Crow Medicine Show or potentially Rodrigo y Gabriela, but they are playing later on in Thursday so that might not be true. Maybe we will get one of the jazz tent guys. It should be fun. I will unfortunately be leaving around 9 to see Sam Roberts, but I should have had plenty of free beer by then.

Howdy Ya'll!
This will be my last post before we leave TOMORROW! We'll be rockin' my bright blue Element, Edna Rose with the Okie plate. If ya see us, stop by and say hi!
OCMS would be great but with so many awesome acts that I'm going to miss it would be a shame for me since they're currently in a conflict free zone on my schedule Saturday morning.
I'd love to see someone I'm not gonna get a chance to see later.
My back-up tent is actually slightly bigger than that (14' x 12') but it looks very similiar. I am going solo so I don't need that much room but I will bring it in case something happens to my other tent (8' x 10') or if someone needs it or if we want to use it in some form as the base for VIP Inforoo camp.

Looks like VIP grew a bit! What I'm not sure about is where they're doing the RV's in VIP. Last year it was literally one side (the lefthand side) of VIP. This year I'm sensing that it's possibly that whole VIP A & B and far left corner. If that's so, we need to be careful that the RV'ers aren't too sequestered from the rest of the Inforoo campers (if we can). I'd suggest, IF it's an RV area, that we snag VIP A or B near the showers with RV's and VIP Campers in Inforoo get in E near the showers and Pod too. Just an idea- may not hold water if the VIP RV's turn out to be the same as last year.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
I'm shooting for somewhere between the hospitality tent and the pod, for my tent.
But that is a totally unrealistic ambition.
I guess we'll find out when we pull in.
I also imagined VIP RV would be the top most section, along the fence.
We'll see how the direction folks are with "could I possibly park somewhere else?"
This is the kind of crap that makes me nervous. yeesh. I guess we'll all find out in about 24 hours.
From the looks of it, there may be more bathrooms than last year in VIP.
Anywho, time for my last 1/2 day at work! See you all soon!
Last year when we got in there were NO direction people. Literally we rolled in and stopped someone to ask-- "where do we go?" they looked at our RV and said deadpan, "one of the big spaces." Harhar. But 50% of VIP acreage was allocated to RV's. Along the fence wouldn't be bad (would really suck with those giant lights) but makes for tight corners for turning-- VIP RV section often includes giant tour buses for artist's families. Last year our dinky RV was in front of a giant tour bus that used to be Trisha Yearwood's.
