Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Looking at the map again with a former VIP'er -- we agree. Last year VIP A & B was the RV section, and I think that's the same this year. Given that, I want to hit the lower-left corner of VIP B so we're central, hopefully visible to the Corncat Camp but not near one of those annoying giant lights.
I'm shooting for somewhere between the hospitality tent and the pod, for my tent.
What is this pod, of which you speak? I see it on the map, but had never heard it mentioned, before.
Looks like Tent-only GA got royally screwed (I bet it's because it wasn't so full in previous years, and the *brilliant* planners decided that it wouldn't be a big deal to reclaim some of that space).
Perhaps they need to check out Inforoo more often. Either that, or perhaps one of our Manchester peeps could act as a consultant for them....
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

I'll put some info on the top of the Camp Info flyer box, so everyone who isn't online will look for us in the E lot. I'm about to sign off, I might be able to check Inforoo one more time before I leave. If not, safe travels and I'll see you at the farm or HIE. ;D

Wow. VIP was chaos this year. I'm happy I got to meet the people I did, and maybe next year will be a little more organized. Thanks for the good times, see you next year.
I think the word "clusterfvck" came to mind Thursday morning.
Glad I met idioteque and paranoidbot on Thursday, and met a low-post-count lurker parked very nearby who saw the t-shirt and said hey and hung out a bit.
I think the "Convince me to go VIP" will be completely revamped and remodeled for next year, but I still say it's loads better than BFE.

Yeah, hopefully the current "Convince me to go VIP" thread dies and we can start a new one with Superfly's new changes to VIP so as not to mislead anyone. I'm still in shock how different 2006's VIP was from 2007's. "Clusterfvck" is right.

And how did I miss you completely this year?
We (Happybunny, her man, me and my brother) saw you during the VIP party, but you were soon gone. I walked past your RV tons, but you were never there. Oh, but I did think of your darling daughter during "So Lonely".

Gotcha. I did finally meet HappyBunny (with man in tow) during Kings of Leon. I think the only reason I met anyone was because of my hat.
Musically, above expectations. VIP camping scene, below expectations. Woulda liked to have met more people from here (met one really nice couple from Toronto for 5 minutes), gone to some shows together and maybe participated in some campsite jams. None of that happened.
First Bonnaroo. VIP was much less then expected. A ten minute walk to bathrooms and showers. The food was adequate, but unorganized which resulted in long lines, especially around 12 PM making the 1:00 start times a challenge at best. The 'directional parking attendants' parked us too close together, which didn't allow enough space for our tarp/shade cover. It seems this particular part of VIP, outer most area, was an 'afterthought in planning' as the grass hadn't been mowed (Did anyone else hear that annoying woman yelling, "get off the road, on the grass!" over and over, jeez, chill will ya'!). All that being said, this was an incredible experience due to the music and people. I'll (we'll) be back!

I'm from Toronto - by chance did we meet? I had a few ramdom conversations with ppl in the VIP tent, but bot clue if they post on here or not.
My take on the negative comments is sure there were a couple negative aspects, but totally worth the extra few hundred bucks (I'll be sure to take an RV next time though).
One thing that was really frustrating is sometimes we were allowed to cut through the What stage area to go to Centeroo, and other times we weren't. It's really annoying not knowing exactly when we can and can't go that way. Also, during KOL they let the Centeroo crowd through the gates first. The girls by the VIP tent wouldn't let us go through, so a couple of us said fuck it and went through, so we can get a good spot
All and all I had an amazing time. The music, the people (my neighbours rocked) and not being checked coming from VIP was great! ;D

Hey, kertbert, are you Chris from Calgary? If so, we (jimmy & kelly) remember talking to you for a while at our campsite about Toronto, good beer, etc. We like to think we're a nice couple, we talked to you for about five minutes, but we're not from Toronto.
Leafsfan: we didn't meet, but I was looking for you. I think Jimmy and Kelly thought I might be you when I first met them since I was wearing a Leafs hat and approached them mentioning something about a corncat. (did that catch on? I didn't hear it once). My neighbours were real nice too and I had good time chatting with a number of people throughout the festival. I just didn't tap into the group thang is all. And I still think VIP is the way to go given the abuse and discomfort the GA's seemed to get. They could organize a bit better on all fronts though. Bottom line is that I had high expectations for the music and they were surpassed.
Jimmy and Kelly: Oh crap. I'm just selectively remembering the last thing I saw before introducing myself to you was a vehicle with an Ontario licence plate adjacent to your campsite. Yep I'm Kris. And yes, you are a nice couple, or perhaps you have a 5 minute nice person facade to mask your evil intentions... ;D Friday was a tough schedule for you guys. Did you make it to everything you wanted to? Saturday was a blitz for us. Had to miss some good stuff but the stuff I saw amazed me.
yeah so i didnt met anyone from the board. my tent was in front of the bathrooms/showers/mist tent. i had a good time but i wasnt that impressed with vip paying 400 dollars more and all.

No worries, dude. Yeah, Friday was fun, definitely jam packed... After Tool, Kelly had to crash, but I headed into Centeroo to grab a Sweetwater Blue and a soft pretzel (had the munchies for some mysterious reason), and chilled at the back of Superjam... Just awesome.
We never met our neighbor with the Ontario plates... Not even sure we laid eyes on them, but met plenty of other cool people. Definitely lots of fun and we're already planning for next year.
Compared to 2006 I think the VIP was a little better. The food was MUCH better than last year, the hospitality tent was alot bigger and the lines for food ran alot smoother, and the additional drink tent was a good idea, i also liked the area they setup for us in front of the what stage bleachers.
Our neighbors on one side of us were loud and obnoxious girls from 'KUNTucky' which was maybe the only downside.
Next year I'd like to see more showers and/or less VIPs and bigger bleachers for the which stage.

agreed on all fronts. especially the food, expanded hospitality, and that expanded area in front of the bleachers. They also added more Bathrooms and Showers than last year. I was in almost exactly the same spot as last year and there were bathrooms much closer to me this year. Last year I had to walk clear across the field to get to them. This year, in literally the same spot as I was last year, they were right next to me.
VIP is worth it for 2 reasons in my mind. 1. Proximity and 2. Space. The Proximity to Centeroo and the What Stage is the only aspect of VIP that is even CLOSE to being worth the ticket price. Having a guaranteed spot that close before you arrive is and should be the only thing worth the price tag. The size of the space they give you is phenomenal. The campsites are at least 4 to 5 times the size of the spaces in GA where it is packed in. We actually had more sapce than we knew what to do with. The VIP campground is spacious, quiet and clean. It is also close and crimefree. It is a breeze through security into the stages, and allows for a comfortable, carefree Bonnaroo experience, that puts the music first and the hassle and bigness of Bonnaroo second. A great GA experience is dependent on MANY MANY factors that are out of your control, whereas VIP allows you more control over these factors.
My experience in VIP this year was equal to and slightly better than last year (close bathrooms/showers!!), and I will be returning in 2008. My travelling companions, the lucky bastards, actually won the silent auction for the VIP tickets for 08. I'm so jealous. We are talking TOUR BUS for next year. I'm pumped. Bring on Roger Waters.
