LOL - don't get me wrong - I can girly with the best of them - just have gotten to an age where I just don't care most of the time - as long as there are clothes covering my ass and my hair and teeth are brushed - I am good.
I had a nice surprise of my new things I had ordered in my mailbox last night. A couple pretty skirts and tops. It made it one step closer to being real. Although I have to say that as a mom..I am getting a little nervous about leaving my kids. Yes they will be with my parents...but I just hate the thought of them needing me and me not being there. I also told my husband I did not like the fact we were traveling together for such a distance. We need to be like the president and vice president...travel in separate cars/planes etc. etc.

Don't worry, they will be fine.
Prolly be a little pissed at you when you get back, but that doesn't last long.
Go to Roo. Do not worry. Have a good time. The kids are with your folks!

My kids don't get pissed when they go to grammy's house they get spoiled rotten
I cannot wait to leave my kids for 5 days - peace at last - I get to be Meg instead of Mommy for 5 whole days - 2 will be with my parents and the 2 year old will be with Boz's mom. Not sure if I am looking forward to Bonnaroo or looking forward to the break from the kids
This will be our third roo and I always panic about leaving the kids. I think the same thing about my hubby and me driving that far together. We have a blast on the drive though. Its the most alone time we get all year!
Oh and on to the fashiony stuff... I can't decide which color mary jane crocs to get. I am torn between brown, cotton candy(light pink) and celery. I better decide soon though cause they are almost out of them around here.
OMG Ladies, Do you all have little children? I'm 38 years young, my oldest is almost 18, (Girl) She was actually my twins girl until my twin passed away...... Then there is the boy who is almost 16 within a few months..... then another girl who is almost 13 and the well deserved and waited for little one who is 4 years old...... We tried and tried and tried for him until he actually came just a few years ago......
I don't worry about them when I'm gone, I am worried when I have to come home! heheheheh ;D
But I do sympathize with all you women who worry and miss the kids when out of town. The first time we left the little one home, and went to the Caribbean, I was good for the first 4 days then I cried because I missed him so much, for the last 3 days.....
Go and have fun, relax because your children are in great hands, and PARTY ONE!!
Yes I'm a mommy. Oldest is 11, the little one is 4. I'm lucky if the house is standing at the end of the day.
I feel perfectly fine about leaving them with Grandma. That's what grandmas are there for. but I will admit after about 4 days I start to miss them.... a little.
Well my "babies" are 10(boy) and 7(girl). I really miss them when we go but we deserve a little time away. They are in good hands with my mom so that helps ease the worries. I am glad to see other roo moms!
I have 3 girls - 14 (almost - will be on Saturday) and 9 from previous marriage and a 2 year old from current marriage (what can I say - he had no kids of his own and wanted one - I am a sucker) oh and I am 38 years old (I can't say young because I feel every one of my 38 years in my bones)
ok, i just got a new razor (venus - breeze) which is awsome and perfect for roo. it has these gel things on either sides of the razor that give you just the right amount of lather, all you need is some water and you're good to go. the razor itself is pretty easy to clean (no clogging) and it gives you a really smooth shave. just thought i would spread the word.

I'm 40 with a 15 year old daughter and we are going to Roo together for the 2nd time this year. I have rarely left her home when I go to concerts or festivals (mostly because of lack of people to leave her with), and now she is a teenager nothng has changed But we have a blast together and I really enjoy seeing how she reacts to people in such a different environment - it's fun to watch them grow into adults
My 3 oldest ar so dispappointed that they aren't going to Roo. Yes I too miss them after a few days of being away, then a few hours after arriving and they are all still fighting, I wish I were back on vacation. I love being 38 years old! I know what I want, I'm firm when I talk, and I've grown up so much yet still have spirit to know that I'm not dead! I see some people my age who look soooo old, or act like they have one foot in the grave.
Thanks ladies..as usual I feel so much better after reading all your upbeat posts. My little one will be 4 in october and she is a real pistol..so I do need a break from the rough time we have been having. My son will be 9 in October and he is the little man in the family. I know they will love being at my parents...and heck...they will probably be glad to get rid of us for a few days.
Back to fashion...I HATE to wear sneakers...I actually do not enjoy wearing enclosed shoes of any kind. I think my toes are claustrophobic By husband is going to nag me about wearing them with all the walking...but my crocs are soooo comfortable...any advice from the pros????
^^^from what I hear crocs will be good. I plan on switching shoes for night time. It tends to revitalize my feet. I wouldn't stress over closed toed shoes I've never had a problem getting my toes smushed.
I know what you mean about a 4 year old pistol. My little boy is a mess, cute but a mess.
I'm bringing my brand new crocs but they gave me a blister the other day when wearing them for the first time. Glad I started wearing them before I go all that way. I'll also be bringing my Asics Gels which are a GREAT running shoe. I know it isn't stylish but hey! Comfort before looking good
I just got in my inforoo tank and wanted everyone to know this little detail on the material...... As you all knew my top was Too big, I went with the next size up because they said it fits smallish, well I should not have done that but I did. I stuck it into the washer on warm like I would anything else and it shrunk nicely! for those of you whose tops fit perfect, don't put them in warm water ok! Just a little FYI!!

Keens, birks and fake crocs for me - found the fakes at Payless - they look like tye-dye; also will bring some rain boots just in case (the kind farmers wear).

You guys make me feel like a baby! However, I hope I am still as cool as you guys when I'm 38!
The days are getting closer! Apparently Target has some really cute sundresses now, so if you're still looking for some, definitely go check them out! My roommate bought 2 and they're adorable! Once I get my scholarship money I'm definitely going to get some!
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
I just wanted to drop in and say hello, cause I haven't been around here for a few days... I'm back at my mom's house, and pretty sick. The meds aren't working and my ultrasound is this weekend. They don't know whats going on... All I know is they better have it figured out by Roo.
Anywho, onto girly things... I got my henna today, and they messed up the shipment! Sent me hairdye instead of a tattoo cone. So, I'm trying to get in touch with them to get it taken care of.
My mom wore my crocs today while working outside, she may have been converted! She actually liked how they felt, said she cant justify $30 on ugly shoes, though
