a belt. Similar to what Eugene Hutz wears almost always on stage. The ones I have found look like a lot of fun for accessorizing, I just wish I knew what the real word for them was, cuz I'm pretty sure "Bellydancing belt" that I used on ebay isn't what they're actually called.
I'm gonna stop at World Market (Cost Plus) tonight and see if they have em.

This past 'Roo my selection of clothes worked great:
I brought - a bunch of colorful layering tank tops that i could mix and match - a simple black lightweight dress (made of viscose/rayon) which i could layer the tanks over - a light-weight cotton plaid halter dress - a full length cotton blue dress (ended up using hair ties to make it shorter. - 2 Bathing suits - no bras only bathing suit tops, which actually held my chap-stick quite well! - 1 pair semi- heavy weight pj pants for night - 1 cozy hoody - 1 pair of jeans - 1 short denim skirt - 1 short sleeve shirt - Several pairs of flip flops
The dresses were all about knee-length or shorter so that they were cool but i could still sit and get up with ease, with out exposing everything!
I think the dresses were key - they worked great, comfortable and cute, most for under $20
I brought other things but didn't use them
Next year I'll also probably add some scarves/bandannas which serve as fashion pieces and/or server a purpose (dust protection, belt, over your hair)
I would love to dress in these fashions or something similar, but I think I would be too hot www.gypsycircus.ca/index.html
one of my shoulders got burned pretty bad on Saturday. Not wanting to do more damage, I put on extra sunscreen on Sunday and carried a sarong with me.
I wish I'd thought of carrying the sarong earlier. I could sit on it. use it to cover my mouth in the dust bombs, and it was light enough that I could wear it like a shawl and not be too hot. And as I am averse to getting in the fountain, I would get it wet in the fountain and then wear it on my shoulders. It was like instant air-conditioning. So nice. So bring a nice thin cotton sarong with you to Centeroo.

yeah, i got burned bad in 2006 on the first day...i was wearing sunscreen but we made a trip down to shakedown and i think that's what got me. I had to by one of the smaller light-weight blankets they were selling in Centeroo.
This year we brought something like 65spf sunscreen - it worked AMAZINGLY. I only really needed it for my arms and shoulders, but neither my boy or I got burnt. We used 45spf for the rest. It was so nice not to worry about re-applying all the time
Yeah, i used 50 and 30 the whole time and only got a touch of burn on one part of my neck. The spray stuff is awesome because I didn't have to rub it in and could reach my back and neck.
I had a thing my mom got me in Africa - sorta like a sarong but a bit heavier. Brought as something to sit on, but was a great sun shade too. I had a gauzy wrap of sorts i used in my hair and wet to keep cool, but it bled blue all over me Next time I will test the colorfastness of the sarong or shawl!
I got burned last year - so this year made sure I spayed down very well in the morning and then periodically during the day - came home with no burn at all this year

the scarves are great. you can often find them for a dollar or so at the thrift store. they can also be tied onto your shade tent for additional shade or privacy. you can also tie up things in them and use them as carryalls - you can tie them so that you have handles.
I was at target about a week ago and they have some really cute skirts in a few colors - about knee length - with little cargo pockets on the side. heads up you can stock up now on the cheap. Target had some really nice sundresses and stuff too.
I didn't buy the coin scarf - but i definitely will before the next bonnaroo or gogol bordello show. If gogol plays bonnaroo again, I'm so dressing up.
