without fail, about every 4 years or so i decide to give good old nair a try again. haha, it never works out too well, but i just can't resist the temptation. i think its about that time. i don't know... maybe i'll go the 'veet' route. anybody with experience? does nair still smell as bad as it used to? about about those "bladeless razor" things?
ladies, I can't recommend waxing enough! I am a stylist and get to wax my own legs and it rocks soooo hard. you just need a couple weeks growth and when you get it done it lasts about a month. you don't get sharp stubble, cos instead of chopped off hairs growing in, they're brand new ones. I love to wax poetic.. I mean, my legs...

Ahh! Every time I try Nair, it makes me want to claw my skin off. Apparently I'm allergic to it. Plus, no matter how hard they try, it still stinks. Veet is okay, but I couldn't get it to make my legs completely smooth, and it doesn't exactly smell like a flower either. I'm not brave enough to wax, so it's probably going to be shaving for me.
oooooh yeaaaah... their early work is severely underrated, imo.
yeah... that nair never really got rid of everything on my legs, but i am AFRAID to wax, and i figured that maybe nair/veet would give me a few days more to not shave(???). i think i'll try out the veet. nair's commercials are obnoxious.
i'm so excited... this weekend there is a really good sale at this very groovy boutique across the street from my work. i'm going to have to check it out... i'm in the market for skirts/dresses/hat.

You go girl! But OMG isn't that painful?
was only painful one time because i thought i'd save some time/money and get it done at a NAIL salon... she used the wrong kind of wax (roll on) and it hurt horribly and took about 4 times as long... oof
otherwise no, not really not saying you can't feel anything, but it's really not as bad as you would think! just make sure you go to a place that specializes in waxing/body treatments, not nails
i cut my bangs myself and they turned out disastrous. i'm usually alright at it... but i accidentally cut too much, and now i have some seriously bulky bangs. what to do!

I too am scared of the wax. I'm a shaver, but I hear the laser thing works great. Maybe one day...
I thought this would be the best place for this question. You ladies are full of great info. I have wavy/ curly hair that is totally unruly in the Bonnaroo environment. I usually use a silicone based "serum" for curls that works great, but I can't find it anymore!!!!!!! I have bought about 10 different things and I hate them all. They leave my hair crunchy, hard, sticky or weighed down. I want soft, smooth curls. Anyone have any suggestions?
Ya know what? I always say leave it to the expert. I walk into my girlfriends styling salon which is the most HIGH end one in my city, I tell her what I want, she says to me "No" "Ive got a better product for your hair Tracy!" And then I give in and buy whatever she sells me. I love her shop because its a styling salon but its an one of the malls so you can walk right in and buy products. I just bought the new Volumizing foam and hairspray and DAMN! That put me in the poorhouse for sure! 45.00
Damn!
Hey girl, unless a stylist can help you out here, I suggest walking into a salon and asking them. MY GAWD though I wish I had curls!!

I have used Frizz Ease by John Frieda and right now am using anti-frizz serum by Citre Shine. It is a bit cheaper then the John Frieda and I am finding that it works very well - use on damp hair and then there is an anti-frizz spray that you can use for touch ups during the day

Thanks so much for the response. I just can't deal with shelling out more than $10 for whatever I get. I really liked the Pantene Curl Serum stuff (clear, pump thingy) and I think it is fairly new to the market, but I got it at Target once (along with 5 other things) and now they don't have it.
hey girls, I used the Citre Shine for years and swore by it, not I use Biosilk Silk therapy. It is the BEST! not as heavy or sticky as the others. very hard to use too much of this product. cost a bit more, but well worth it. Target has it. Good luck!

I loved Citre Shine when I used it, Biosilk is great too but it's really strong-smelling, and a little bit more expensive. Honestly though, at Roo I would just put it up in a ponytail...nobody's going to care if your hair is frizzy or not anyway!
Also, another update from the bargain shopper I went to our Victoria's Secret Pink store (I dont know if you have one near you, but I'm sure you can get their stuff online) and their bikini separates are $15, so I got my bikini for $30! They're cute and they have boy-cut bottoms if you're a little more modest like I am!

a couple of weeks ago i decided to cut my bangs and got carried away..i've been clipping it to the side with a hair clip thing.
Yep, finally saw it, just posted to it... Thanks for starting it, we get off on WAY too many tangents around here!! LOL! And I am one of the worst offenders....
