me and tara wearing our big hats! i'll probably be bringing a new (and possibly even floppier) one this year, the cowboy hat doesn't really take the abuse very well (note the misshapenness)

OMG I want to hang with you guys - you look like you are having the best time
Yeah we should get a spot and time and get all the gals from Girly Fashion thread to meet! Wouldn't that be kewl!
I will be the gal with the straw cowboy hat. My friend will have her Tilley hat and the guys, ummm hubby has a straw cowboy hat but its not as funky as mine. I'm still thining I should hot glue some gems on the front. Maybe a Canadian Flag. Thats something on the "If I get time" list. I just started my quilt for bonnaroo. Its the scene that boonnaroo has done for the main page, the green rolling hills and what looks like a white tent, and rays coming off the top. All the pieces are cut and on the cloth now all I have to do is secure them down, do some borders etc and voila, the quilt will be done. I made a quilt (Big patchwork quilt) for Ottawa Bluesfest last year and you wouldn't believe the comments from people! I'll post a picture when its done.
Yeah I think I've seen the Bedazzler on informercials I believe. God, I have to get off this site and finish that quilt. Will check in later!
I've never been to the States before!
What is general Tennessee weather around that time of year? Do I need hoodies etc for the nighttime? And my god I keep hearing about Bonnaroo Torrential downpours! Is the rain that nasty? Here in Ontario Canada, that time of year is beautiful!

but then again if you are used to canadian weather it will likely seem hot all the time... I dunno bout tennessee but here in GA it gets down in the 70's at night in the summer but the humidity never lets up And you don't mess with southern rain showers... it only takes about 2 minutes to get soaked to the bone and umbrellas dont do any good. Having to go inbetween lecture halls on campus is a nightmare and puddles start to form under the desks of those who have had to brave the weather in class

I just got a really cute plaid floppy hat from JCrew. It was on sale for 9 dollars and it shields my whole face from the sun. Actually, if you go to jcrew.com right now, they have some cute hats very much on sale. IMO these hats are made pretty well and will last you a long time.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

so..... I dont really intend on bringing a whole lot of stuff into centeroo... just the essentials, sun screen, lip balm, power bars, water, wallet, ... um yeah anything else So can anyone recomend a good backpack small easy to carry, doesnt cut into your shoulders, preferably isn't too gawd awfully unsightly
^^Get a camelbak with pockets! The small ones have room for the essentials, I'd reccomend buying it from a brick and mortar store though so you can try it on and check the pockets out for yourself. I bought a MULE camelbak and its lasted 2 festies thus far and been awesome, holds 3 bottles of water too
I dont take a backpack myself, but I can tell you what I do use, if you want.
I take my big over the shoulder bag that I bought in costa rica, and put it around my waist, and then knot the straap so it fits. If you have hips, this works great. My bag is about a foot square, but you can go bigger or smaller if you want, and it holds just the right amount of stuff. Also, no backpack tan lines, and no sore shoulders!

OOOh good idea... I'll have to try that out when i get home, I've got a few at home but I dunno if the around the waist thing will work I'll have to tempt it I also just bought a big jug (It was a buck I couldn't pass it up) with a handle and caribeaner and sports top, but I know it says no opened bottles allowed in centeroo, does this count for things like this or could i just stick it in my bag and be done... and also what do they do about cammel backs?
sorry so many inquiries, I'm sure these questions have answers somewhere
^Depends on which line you get into. You can bring one in but the rules say its gotta be empty. At other fests with a similar rule we usually fill ours with ice and have 2 sealed bottles with us to pour in when we get inside.
Some lines wont care if yours is already filled though
Edit: I'd think theyd let you carry that jug in empty but if its BIG its gonna be a pain to carry around

Lets see here... The water bottle, they will let you bring in, and it really depends on who is checking you. Some of the people will let you take it in full, some will make you dump it out. There is free water inside for a refill if you need it, though.
Camelbaks are the same way, you may or may not get it in full, but either way, you will get it in. Remember, the faster lines are going faster for a reason, pick those.

^ ha good point... I planned on brining it in either with ice in it or empty since there is water readily available. ... and its not too big... I think its a 1.5 liter jug with a really stable handle on it so it shouldn't bee too much to lug that and I'll likely be drinking it so fast that it will never seem full/heavy
Hi. I'm late to the party. Wish I'd been earlier; I might have bought larger Crocs. I usually wear a 7.5 or 8, but when I tried on a small, it seemed to fit well, so I bought it. (Impulse purchase at Whole Foods.) Then I read here that they're supposed to be loose. Oh, well; I'm gonna bring several pairs of shoes, because I find that switching off really rejuvenates the feet. I have some excellent Tevas and just scads of boat shoes (I live on the water, and I've been collecting them as a sort of affectation since I moved here).
I've been buying 'Roo clothes at Goodwill. It's where I get most of my clothes anyway. I found a reversible sundress, several tanks, a couple of pairs of capri pants, some oddball oversized T-shirts for sleeping, and I don't know what else.
I've got an Inforoo shirt coming. I wanted a tank but chickened out at the last minute and got a yellow T. Most of my other tops are sleeveless or have very short sleeves.
I love dresses and skirts--hate shorts--but I'm another Rubenesque broad, so I'm a tad worried about chafing. Sounds like the guys swear by Gold Bond.
I can do Old Navy plus sizes for pants and skirts, but I can't ever get anything to fit right up top. A pity; they've got some nice-looking sundresses for sale right now.
Hats. I have about three. I found a really wide straw hat at a thrift shop for 99 cents. I need to rig it up with a strap, though, so it doesn't blow off my head. I have this groovy hat that twists down into a little case the size of a portable CD player--I think I got it at Target, but it's been several years.
I just picked up some Physicians Formula powder that's SPF20. I'll try it out. I'm not much for makeup normally, but I burn like a mofo, so I need something to protect my face anyway.
I keep saying I'm gonna sew some sundresses, but I don't know if I'll have time! 'Roo is sneaking up on me....
OK, that's probably more than anyone needs to know! It's just very pleasant to read all this girly chatter.
yeah i've been kind of stressing about the backpack situation, especially because i hate carrying things. i'm like 4. i guess it all depends on where we will be camping and such...
