the fruit only needs to be iced if it is already cut up - in it's own natural packaging - no ice necessary - we bring fruit cups - just our preference - they are very easy - throw 'em in the cooler - easy to grab for the walk

Last year we brought 2 coolers, one for water and food, and one for beer.
We used dry ice on the bottom, frozen water bottles and smooshed in perishables on top. Everything stayed cold the entire weekend, and even had some water still frozen by Sunday.
We did pack a bbq, but it was insane to use. I'm good with fire, but even I was nervous with the wind and dry conditions. But I cooked up some chicken kabobs and they were delish!
But the best things we brought were a giant container of pasta salad, nuts, Kashi TLC bars, Gatorade (a must!), and beer. I fed many hungry people over the weekend, who were grateful for cool, nurishing salad and hyrdration.
We'll skip the bbq this time, realizing how much delicious food can be found on the cheap. We had the HUGE gryos for $5, Breakfast burritos for $4, and of course, the infamous Garlic Grilled cheese for a BUCK. We didn't spend much money on Shakedown, but glass alley was full of local vendors who had some great grub.
With less food, that will allow more room for beer!

Fo sho. I am going to bring mostly non cookable food. I know someone in the group will have a grill so maybe an I ll bring some pre-made stuff that I can just heat up on the grill.
