Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm trying to figure out what kinds of good, non-perishable food to bring to Roo. Since I'm on a tight budget, I'll have to bring everything I want to eat.
So far, I'm thinkin': Pop Tarts or power bars for breakfast Tortillas with cheese whiz and hard salami for lunch Oranges and trail mix for snacking in Centeroo
Anybody have any neat foods or recipes they'd like to share?
And if you have a cooler, every year I make this mix of different kinds of rice and beans, throw in some tomatoes and seasonings... That stuff is awesome. Protein, carbs, can eat it cold (with corn chips is great)... There's rarely a night when either I or my husband didn't find ourselves gobbling it down.
It's a paraphrase of the Ben Franklin quote, "“Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.”
That's always been one of my favorites... and I found out a couple months ago that I'm his great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter! (yeah, I know eight greats is a stretch, but it's my only claim to fame)

Thanks for this thread. I am in VIP so the food is supplied, but only from 12-9, so i'm needing ideas as well. I want to cook breakfast in the mornings on my camping stove and wondered what would be a good treat. Was also thinking of ramen noodles for late night...

My great-grandfather was a horse thief in PR. It doesn't mean much here in the states, but it's worth a few free meals in Old San Juan...

I know 'Roo isn't the time to diet, but I live on those SlimFast Optima bars. . they're something like 200 calories, and they fill you up for at least 4 hours. I'm planning on bringing a bunch with me. That and string cheese. . mmm . . .string cheese. . .

I agree but the ones I like have chocolate flavored stuff and it will melt
I'm coming with a couple of friends, and one has declared food her responsibility, but I'm planning to take the following as extras
-Clif bars: these things are lifesavers when you need nutrition but it's too hot to have an appetite. -fresh bread: this man /can/ live by bread alone :-) I make a loaf with a high-protein flour -trail mix: cheerios, cashews, raisins, and chocolate chips -granola: the breakfast of hippy champions -gatorade powder: i can't stand gatorade (don't tell anyone, I go to UF!), but i sweat enough that electrolyte depletion is a problem. if you just wet your mouth, eat a spoonful of powder, then drink a water bottle, you can avoid most of the flavor -coffee: i'm an addict. i'm bringing a pour-over brewer (basically just sits on a cup and holds a filter, you pour the water through yourself) and a stove-top espresso maker (for cuban coffee--my roommate's cuban, his mom got be going on this stuff) -flask o' armagnac: a man's gotta have some good liquor, in addition to the stuff in plastic (and espresso+brandy==nirvana. add roo==orgasm)

armagnac! Nummy! It was a Brit that first enlightened me on armagnac in Belgium....I didn't know the diff between cognac, brandy all the same to me, then he got me hooked on the stuff! Do they like teach this stuff in school there?? LOL!
In the Detroit area (I don't know about anywhere else), Kroger's just had this sale on Power Bars for $1 a bar. Unbelievable. Like the idea about the pre-cut veggies and eggs for breakfast. I will also be taking the Quaker oatmeal bars and beef jerky. Thanks for all the ideas fellow Roo-mates!! ;D Can't wait. Someone might have to join me for breakfast though... I hate eating alone.

As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
