Jem was my favorite growing up, I'm just a couple years younger than you but I think we are too young to be worrying about trying to look too young at Roo of all places. I actually go back and forth with this actually, the act/dress my age crap. But I've decided for Roo I'm just going to do whatever I want.

I went to Earthbound Trading Company this past weekend. I got my sun umbrella for Roo there last year, and I knew I needed to check it out again for this year's music fest season. I got a beautiful dress (with pockets!!!) there for $35 along with some cheap jewelry! They had a ton of stuff that was Roo-worthy...really any festival-worthy! I was in hippie heaven! I highly recommend checking it out! They're usually located in malls, but you can always Google them to see if there's one near you.

Granted, its on sale. Its from Athleta, a sister shop to Gap. BUUUTT, it is on sale from $70 to $29.99. STEAL! I wasn't quite sure how the sizes ran, though, so I bought an XS and a S. Its free returns, so I figured, why not?! I'll just return the size that doesn't work. And the bright green would be a great summer color.
Best part? Its made from the same material as suim suits, so when I'm sweating like a beast at Bonnaroo, it'll wick that shit right up.
I want to buy dresses! But Im gonna wait. I may be tiny by the time I need to wear them ;D

Just made my first and possibly last purchase from F21 (I'm old and fat ). Found a cute crossbody bag for $22. Big enough to carry my kindle when I'm using it in real life and small enough to stay out of the way on the farm, I hope

Thank you for posting this!! I have been trawling Old Navy constantly but didn't even think to look at Athleta. I wish they had free returns, but free exchanges are better than nothing if the stuff doesn't fit! I'm looking at a couple dresses and a tankini top, hmmmmmmm....
Speaking of swim stuff, I was in Walmart today and noticed they have their swim/summer styles out—lots of breezy and light tops, coverups, and I even found some bikini/tankini tops with a regular bra style (not halter, hooray!). I'm gonna go back and check out Target too after payday!
^^^THIS. I got a GREAT reversible smocktop sundress at wal-mart last year. It was in the OPI stuff, purple w white dots on one side, and tie-dye on the other. It was PERFECT under my RooTu. I wore it at Sasquatch too! I think it was $8. Perfect for fests = cheap, cute, and if it gets ruined, im only out $8. ;D Wal-mart is perfect for that kind of stuff.

I have an Earthbound in my local mall, and I love it! I recently went there looking for a sarong, unfortunately they no longer had the ones that I had had in mind. I got a cute wrap skirt instead, but hopefully they'll have their sarongs back in stock as summer approaches.

Did you get laser hair removal? I've been thinking about it but I don't know anyone who has had it done and their results.
Well, Well, Well - YES, I have, m'ladies of the GFT, Yes I have.
It's glorious. Im addicted. I dont have any tattoos, but I hear that once you get one, you can't stop... this is the same. It all started with the *ahem*... well, lets just say, I could walk out of this house in a bikini right now, with no preparation. ;D The underarms and lower legs are in process. Y'all, for realz. I know that BOYS read this thread, so I dont want to be too detailed. But what used to be an almost daily process, has now become once every 2 weeks? maybe? if any? It's fairly new, so Im not sure if Im just still in the 20+year habit by going through the motions every now and then.
"But Mayo, how on God's green Earth do you afford all of this?" you may be saying. Groupon, Half-off Depot, Living Social, Crowdsavings, Deal Chicken, Plum District. Sign up for any of these and you will see the coups for removal come through all the time. I'm a fan of Half-Off Depot, because the deals dont expire after 24-48 hours. And I've done the research - for example - to get your underarms (a small area) done for 6 sessions (general amount needed to effectively KILL most folicles) it's anywhere from $1,200 to $1,700. PSSH. For a small area from a coupon site - $99. YES. Only catch is that ALL of the coupons have this caveat: For new patients only. SO you just beat that by going to a new salon/office/medical practice for every "area." Then some of them offer you cheap deals for being a new customer when you come in. So I got a $99 area for my underarms, and they offered me lower legs (a medium area) for $350. Lower legs only - usually go for $4K. FOURTHOUSANDDOLLARSOHMYGOD. Truthfully, even the $350 for the legs is something I'd normally never do, but I've been saving and its a rainy rainy day.
Last word is this - you can NOT do laser removal when you are tanning, or getting any sun at all. The way that the laser works, it will burn the POOP out of you. So if you were to get a coup, make sure it lasts for a year, because all places will say that once you start getting into the sun, you have to put it off until sun season is over. And most areas require 6 weeks between sessions. Example - I'll get 2 leg sessions in before I have to stop. Just because I started in March instead of January/December.
But yeah. It's glorious. I want to get about oh-i-dont-know, all of my body from my eyebrows down done. Okay, maybe not that much, but it's the best. BEST.
