i found this website for plus sizes. i've never heard of it before but there are some adorable tops and ultra cute dresses. not all are functional for roo but cute none the less.
i'm right there with ya and i live by torrid when i first found the store in high school i seriously almost cried because i was finally out of moomoo's and big tacky floral prints. the 90's had no concept of plus-sized teens.
my friend swears by the shampoo Mane n' Tail, I believe? It was originally developed for horses, and my friend said it works wonders bc it makes your hair super healthy, and that helps increase faster growing.
i was gonna say..sounds like something that would be used on a horse...

Ladies, remember to bring razors to Roo even if you don't plan on shaving your legs. I just remembered my bad chaffing spot was my armpits. Four days of growth plus tons of arm movement while walking the farm created a painful rash. So, lesson learned = shave the pits.

i'm about growing my hair out too for roo, and just in general.
I have tons of layers, so my hair definitely does the "hanson"esque flip style, as mentioned above.
But I WILL be strong! I think I will start taking those vitamins and such. Also, my friend swears by the shampoo Mane n' Tail, I believe? It was originally developed for horses, and my friend said it works wonders bc it makes your hair super healthy, and that helps increase faster growing.
I think I'm gonna get a bottle of it!
I wanna be the pretty girl with long, beautiful brown hair!
strength in numbers. just come here when you think you might cave and cut it and will sing along to "Mmmbop" together
For what it's worth, the chick in Hanson is HOTTT!!!!

Ooooh!
Everyone should get a bottle of St. Ives Apricot scrub. They sell little bottles in the travel section at Target if you won't use the big bottle. This stuff was great. You're only supposed to use it a few times a week but I used it everyday at Roo. I didn't just use it on my face, I used it on my whole body as well. The fact that it's coarse made it feel like it was scrubbing all the dirt off. Felt great. They sell some for sensitive skin as well, not nearly as harsh. I had everyone using this stuff by the middle of the weekend.
My big tip for growing out your hair is to get regular trims. I didn't and ended up with several inches of split ends and that just sucks. Plus, your hairdresser can work with your hair to help give it a real shape during the growing-out time so you don't get frustrated and chop it all off again.
But you know, there is a bonus for having short hair at 'roo - it's easier to wash in the troughs. My long hair would drag all the way to the bottom and that was annoying.

i don't think i've had a haircut in about a year. i have thick hair, too, so i don't know how i've gotten it to grow so fast. when its wet its down to right above my booty.

wow - that's impressive! I got mine down to a few inches below my shoulders and have now given up.
I agree with the regular trims - I have gone from really short (think old school Pat Benetar or the chick from Roxette) to long, then got the "Kelly Taylor" in college which was practically shaved in back (remember her short blonde 'do on 90210?) and grew that out too.
Regular trims kept me from taking a pair of clippers to my head at 3am or living in baseball caps and bandannas.
I also swore by those accordion headbands - would hold back the weird straggly pieces and give me body. Then use something like a styling paste to add texture and it can look funky, instead of a weird growing-out mess. www.scunci.com/product_detail.aspx?gid=7&pid=10&lp=21

Haha long hair dragging in the bottom of the troughs is NOT cool. Same thing happened to me last year. I have NO idea what I'm doing with my hair now...I'd kinda like to grow it out, but it's only just past my shoulders and I'm already getting tempted to cut it. I thought about going super short for Bonnaroo to make it easier to wash and so it wouldn't get tangled, but maybe I should let it go and rock some long hippie hair.

my hair will be up the whole time. i have way too much of it to be comfortable wearing it down. not to mention i don't think the chi is necessary at Roo

I shaved! But then, I had shower access. The boyfriend appreciates it. Just as much as I appreciate his not exfoliating 3 skin layers on my face, with his!
I use an epilator, down there. NOT for everyone. Hurts like a mother, until you get used to it. And the hair grows in softer, like waxing. I leave just enough on top to look sort of natural. Like a sort of close cropped triangular patch where the Brazilian part would be. I will say that, if you plan to keep it all that way, it's one of the cheapest routes to go.
OK ladies. Update. So last week I told you about how I hurt my foot really bad (dislocated something). Well, I went back to my chiropracter today, and it's not healing on its own. So now I have to go to a foot specialist, and they could recomend anything from orthopedics to surgery! I am sufficiently freaked (and still in my crocs)
I think sassbox means she's lucky because she is not very hairy. I'm jealous... I am super duper hairy, like mega, though I manage it pretty well. Last Roo I didn't shave and I mean, I was cool with rockin' the stubble, but it wasn't that attractive or comfortable. Waxing actually sounds like a good idea... I've waxed my legs with cold wax strips and its actually not that bad. I popped a couple Advil before and I went into "waxing mode"... sort of like war mode! But as far as the bikini line goes, I'm sure that is way more painful! I kept shorts on rather than bearing my bathing suit bottoms last year to hide the bikini line "issue" haha!
