I don't know about her bikini line, but my grandmother had no body hair to speak of. She'd only have to pluck maybe one hair out of her legs once a year. Yet had plenty of hair on her head, eyebrows and all the other hair you actually want.
I got some of her hair genes - the hair on my arms is sparse and light, but everywhere else needs to be shaved daily.
Poor alieblue - she got our dad's Eastern European hair genes.

oh man, I'm jealous...I am a hairy hairy chica. The other girl in my group last year is the opposite - by the end of the weekend I think she had about seven hairs on her legs. I was so jealous! Last year I know I gave my legs a quick swipe with the razor at one point...can't remember if I did my pits. And I don't think I did my bikini line although if I didn't I'm surprised at myself for being cool with that.
My mother has no hair on her arms, legs or under her arms...and when I say no hair, I mean none...not even fuzz. She has the same full head of hair that I do, though.

i hate working all day and then getting on the boards three pages later anywhoo... mane and tail? great great stuff! the plus size websites are awesome. i think i have plus size sites down to a science for the fact that i really do love my body and i love finding great fashions for it and i also think i came to the conclusion because i am a very fast hair grower, that is everywhere but my head, that i am just going to bring my venus breeze (the razor with the shower gel around it) and just use that every morning instead of being a mamoth on sunday like last year. i have really learned to love mine. even though the refills are a bajillion dollars...

I loved those venus razors, but refills are RIDICULOUS! Waaay too much. I want an electric shaver.. I think remington makes a girly one with flowers and such on it, lol.

wait...are you guys sisters!? if so, that's awesome!
and just weighing in on the hair thing.......i am RIDICULOUSLY hairy!! so hairy that i can't even shave down there, i have to have it waxed. if i shave, it grows back within hours and hurts like a bitch! i am also really prone to ingrown hairs, so waxing is the only way to go for me. i really wish i could afford laser hair removal...that would be a dream come true! last year i got my normal bikini wax and did my pits also, so i didn't have to worry about them all weekend, but i showered every day and once (fri/sat i think) i ran the razor over my legs while i was in the shower. and sorry if there are any guys in here!
for you girls trying wax for the first time, you should definitely take an advil/aleve before you go, then when you get there, ask the wax technician to put light pressure on your skin with the palm of her hand after she pulls the wax off. for some reason, that really really helps. my waxer started doing that a little while ago, and it was a godsend. also, aloe with cortizone helps relieve the pain a bit immediately after the waxing. afterwards, use something that helps exfoliate the skin to prevent ingrown hairs. i use an aveda product called "bumpRX" i think. hope this helps for you first timers!!

OK ladies. Update. So last week I told you about how I hurt my foot really bad (dislocated something). Well, I went back to my chiropracter today, and it's not healing on its own. So now I have to go to a foot specialist, and they could recomend anything from orthopedics to surgery! I am sufficiently freaked (and still in my crocs)
oh no!! i hope it's just orthopedics! that is just awful. i hope you are ok in time for 'roo! lets look on the bright side, though...if not, you may be able to get an access pass from the situation but honestly, i hope you get better before june. definitely keep us posted!!
The only time I got a bikini wax was before my wedding/honeymoon. It didn't hurt too much, but that stuff grew back to the point that I got waxed on Wednesday and had to shave on Monday! WTF!
Now I remember bringing a razor last year to Bonnaroo... I think I either dry shaved or used lotion. Think I took a cheap disposable so i could toss later, or else a refill for my Venus.
I was a lifeguard for like 5 years; I have shaving down to a science and it doesn't bother me too much.
Clairity, hope that the specialist doesn't recommend anything painful or expensive. Wow. Good luck with that.
Alieblue, mine grows back within a week of epilating, too. Which is why I wouldn't bother paying someone to wax me. Too expensive for not enough benefit. The epilator cost only around $50, years back. I read a lot of reviews on Amazon and just picked the one people seemed to like most, back then. Probably, there are better ones out there, now. But that sucker paid for itself in no time. Same ingrown hair issue as waxing. But at least the cost is controlled.

Oooh, you're making me consider getting one...
Just know that it's going to be every bit as painful as waxing, to begin with. Plus, it's not as fast a removal as wax. The pulling out part is definitely as fast, but since it's about the size of a razor, you end up not being able to remove from as large a territory, all at once. So, think continuous removal over smaller areas, at any period of time. Like running an electric razor over your body, but ripping the hair out, instead of trimming it. Over time, it grows back more sparsely. And the hairs which do grow back tend to pull out way more easily and less painfully. But at least it's one price outlay and you're done.
my friend has that target bag with the trees! It's really cute! I want one
as for body hair, im one of the lucky ones as well... For some reason I don't grow underarm hair. I shave my pits like once every 5 months or so just to get rid of the one or two hairs, but that's it. I dont know anyone else like that... people get very jealous. lol
I'll shave my pits everyday, but everything else can wait till Mon. I don't shave my legs that often anyway-usual only once or twice a week in the summer. My hair is blonde so really can't see it. And I figure if anyone is going to be touching my legs, it should be someone that likes me enough not to care if there's a little hair there

That is me exactly - I will shave before I leave and maybe a swipe at the pits once or twice - but I am not concerned with my legs -

plus sized - love tank tops - have to wear a bra - three kids later - it is a must - I don't car about bra strap showing - love the camisole type of tops
here is the issue I have - why are they all made of spandex type material lately - has anyoen found any that are not "stretch" fit and why would anyone that is plus sized want anything that was "stretch" fit????

i'm a little confused as to what you are considering a "tank top". to me a tank top is a cotton shirt similar to a man's undershirt. a camisole is something completely different, usually made out of the stretchy fabric you are referring to.
having said that, i think old navy usually has a pretty good selection of both once their summer collection gets to stores. and they generally have larger sizes as well(i'm a plus size with DD's).
first off, whoever thought of putting a shelf bra in one is a flippin' GENIUS! second, I've seen some with a shelf bra and made out a really light jersey, I like mine because it doesn't fit like a tank top it's sorta full in the bottom so it has some swing to it.
