Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Have you heard of Zenni optical? I buy glasses and sunglasses from there to do "pretty/artsy" things to. You can get them for 10 bucks (with lenses!) and they've worked really well.
This website is awesome. Thanks for sharing. I am so glad I got my prescription last time I was at the eye doctor. This may be a long shot but any chance you know of a similar website for contacts? I need to order some and I don't find 1800contacts to be all that cheap, tbh.
I don't know a cheap place for contacts I used 1800 but they couldn't contact my eye doctor last time for some reason. If someone finds a cheap place, let me know! I was thinking about getting colored prescription contacts but don't want to pay a ton.

I don't know if it's the cheapest.. Contacts are so expensive as it is. But I just ordered one years worth (4 boxes) for $99 including shipping from Lens Discounters. The same order at 1800contacts came out to $199 without rebate and $149 with rebate.
Same issue! It's frustrating to not wear cute/different sunglasses, but I can't imagine wearing contacts, especially at a place as dusty as Bonnaroo.
I'm in the same boat!
I'm always so jealous of people who can buy cheap (relative to prescription) sunglasses and have like multiple different styles to choose from.
Plus having the freedom to just whip them on and off whenever you like.
It's such a hassle dealing with glasses all the time! I have one pair of prescription sunglasses that I bought like three years ago. The prescription is no longer my current prescription and I no longer like the style of them... but can't afford to spend another $300.. so... I guess I'm stuck with what I've got!
I'm actually going to invest in my first pair of prescription sunglasses specifically for 'roo... I'm just so afraid of them getting broken/lost. I don't have the best track record with glasses. Even the ones that sit on my face everyday. I just want to show up with my shades on and be like...
Those frames with the little flowers are amazing!! I need glasses but I'm too poor for Rx sunnies, so I bought Clip-on flip-up lenses to put on my current glasses. They save my life last year and I looked so COOL. Haha, I really did get a ton of compliments. Maybe I could embellish my old man clip ons.
I am so overdue for an optometrist appointment. I have one have broken pair of glasses and two pairs of dailies left (I don't wear corrective wear everyday -even though I should). As I read the last page of this thread, all I can think of is my mom yelling at me, "YOU'RE SQUINTING!" Maye I'll finally go, make sure my script is up-to-date, get one pair of glasses and a box or two of contacts through them and then check out these sites! I don't suppose I would be able to use my HSA debit card on any internet site, though?
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I've gotten a discount for being a new member on my contacts at visiondirect.com too. 25% off your first order. I always try to get the best prices. I've looked into just ordering in person at Costco too, but online is more convenient and cheaper, at least the last time I ordered. May depend on the type you use though.
Other ones I've bookmarked to compare prices: ezcontactsusa.com contactlensking.com coastal.com
(I saved these to compare for Acuvue Oasys)
You can either give them your optometrist info for them to contact or you can just scan your prescription into the system. Hope that be useful to someone.

Are contacts really the way to go though with as dusty as Bonnaroo can get? Also taking into consideration a consistent mild inebriation factor, I imagine taking out the lenses would be a pain.
Wait, would those be glasses to coordinate with RooTus or glasses WEARING RooTus!? I have a vision of lenses with ruffly tulle all around them haha.
That's what I am picturing as well. I wonder how much tulle we could actually get one one? Probably only two inches or so on each side and they'd get in the line of vision. Unless the pieces are pre-tied and glued on??

Or maybe it would be a ruffle at the top like giant eyelashes!

I do it. I'm just REALLY careful when I take them in and out (extra careful to account for possible inebreation), and wash my hands (aka rinse them). Always bring a backup pair and/or glasses just in case.
I don't have glasses, and am blind without my contacts, so I make do.

I was worried about losing or breaking mine a couple years ago, and I even brought a pair of non Rx shades figuring I could just wear them when I was just chilling in centeroo, but I never wore them. Paranoia about losing them is the best way to NOT lose them.. haha. And for real, prescription sunglasses will change your life. I never used to wear sunglasses, and now I can't imagine living without them. They can be expensive, but so worth it IMO.
As for all these awesome DIY shades, I really think I'm going to find some dollar store sunglasses and make a bunch and just bring them for fun. I could just give them to people who are cool.
Also, for those of you who want DIY sunnies and wear prescription glasses, I know that Wal Mart and a lot of drug stores carry cheap-o prescription glasses and sunglasses. It's worth a look as long as your prescription isn't too wonky.
I'm allowed to sleep in my contacts for a week at a time, so that helps me. I just definitely bring glasses, spare contacts, and rewetting drops. I don't usually have issues. sunglasses may be a little help during the day I guess. I'm more worried about my nose/throat in the dust than my eyes (bandanna)

So I just ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses (purple) and a pair of regular glasses (red) from Zenni Optical. I added reflective coat to both because there is a 50% promo code until March 19th.
My total for BOTH pairs with shipping etc. was $31.76!! SO excited because I've never had prescription sunglasses before because they are so expensive.

That sounds like an awesome deal! Thanks for sharing! My friend who's coming with me wears glasses (and I don't think she's thought about the sunglasses dilemma yet) so I'm going to pass this on to her
My problem, complete personal sensory issue, is that I'll wear sunglasses throughout the day and then by night I may or may not be a little bit twisted, so if I take my sunglasses off my soaked brian will tell me that I'm missing something. So I sometimes leave my sunglasses on into the night. And at that point I just tell myself that I look extra cool.
I also have had those few times when I want to take my contacts off and I don't quite get all of the smoke and festival off of my hands with a washing before taking them out....it's a world of pain.

I have really curly, frizzy hair. Anybody else have this problem? My hair is longish.. If I wear it down when it's all frizzy like that, I'm afraid it would feel way too hot. And it poofs up into a cotton ball and not an attractive one. I wish I had hair that looked good all natural like that! Anyway.. what do you do with your hair? I don't wear hats. I have a round head.. round face.. they don't fit right and also they look terrible on me.
Last year I kept it in two braids or a big bun on top of my head.. which worked but still looked pretty terrible. I didn't want to show anybody any Bonnaroo pictures that I was in because I looked horrible. Of course it's Bonnaroo and I don't really care while there.. but it would be nice to look half way decent sometime there!

I also have naturally curly, frizzy hair. I keep my hair in pigtail braids the whole time at Roo and wear a hat or a bandana. I have come to accept that I will never be that girl that looks cute and put-together at Bonnaroo... I also don't even bother showering Everyone is different, but I say just do whatever makes you comfortable.

And JHo always looks cute!! I love the pigtail braids. Be thankful you have awesome hair, and while you may think you look awful, others do not!

My hair has never been "cute" at Roo. My hair has the ability to look ok(ish) in that au natural look... but that means I'd have to shower. HA! Buns, braids... whatever keeps it out of the way! I also do not do hats, but will sometimes do a bandana.
