Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I have been lurking this thread for packing advice, and again this is coming across as creepy, but I was so excited to see people who live near me that I had to jump in. I live in Owensboro and don't know anyone locally who is going. It really is a small world.
Hope to see y'all at brunch.
Haha, well I started the creepiness so no worries! I always get excited when I see that people near me love the same things, it's hard to find around here... We will be at the brunch so we'll see you there!
Might be a creepy questions, but are you from Evansville, IN? I never see people on inforoo from here...just surprised me to see that city name.
Ha I'm from e'ville! Funny, wonder if I've ever met u?
Maybe, but probably not since I'm not from here originally. I do work at the hospital here though...so people recognize me from there. My boyfriend is from here originally, so it seems like he knows everyone. Will you be at the brunch? We'll see you there if so!

Hmm maybe I'm doing it wrong/laundry soap isn't strong enough/too much spray on sunscreen... all my roo clothes have this certain roo smell/waxy feel that develops and hasn't washed out. #washedout
I usually get all the roo out of my clothes, but there was one shirt I threw away because I wore it during Clean Vibes. Cleaning roo for 10 hours was never washed out of that shirt. So it was regulated to roo wear solely.
Ladies, how do you feel about maxi skirts/dresses on the farm? are they too hot or just right? I'm not only scared about my legs being suffocated but the bottom getting absolutely filthy
Last year I wore mostly high-lo skirts and this style I don't know the proper name for...they are long in the front and back but not so long they touch the ground and go up a little on the sides and have a slit on both sides??? Does anyone know what this is called?
Anyway I feel like those were a happy median with the benefits of a maxi skirt but didn't get dirty from touching the ground and let a little more breeze in. I can post pics of what I mean if you're interested.

Holy wow ladies I have been neglecting you all for far too long! I am in my annual "what was I thinking not making plans for Roo before now" panic and trying to get somewhat caught up with Inforoo and feeling very out of the loop....figured I'd start by coming to say hi to you girls! Unfortunately I have nothing to actually add to the conversation...oh well, I am banking on your forgiveness.
So this decorating glasses thing is getting frustrating. Every time I find a cheap pair of sunnies I end up falling in love with them as is and I don't want to altar them. I now have 6 pairs of cheap $5 sunglasses and I wear them each on the daily. They've replaced my regular Coach sunnies I usually wear. I need to start looking at ugly glasses with a good shape on purpose so I stop keeping them all!!! I'll have to hit up Walmart. Any other suggestions on where I can find a variety?

Found a deal that might interest some of you - four pack of smock top dresses for $14.99. I'm sure they're super cheap quality-wise, but hey, sometimes that's the best thing for Roo!
Also - MonieMonster, for cheap sunnies - have you tried dollar stores? Or Five Below or places like that. I bet you could find some cheap and ugly sunglasses there!

Maybe next cheap pair you find get two?! just an idea that way you get to keep one plain to wear normally and one decorated.
The same company has other colors/patterns of the same dress if you check their listings. I got four and this is DEFINITELY my new summer uniform. I was very skeptical about the one size fits all thing, but its actually true... I'm a 42-44C and size 14/16 and they fit great, but the top snaps back really small so I think it'd fit a petite person too, its sort of amazing. They are also plenty long (right below the knee on me and I'm 5'10") which is nice (for me... shorter ladies may need to hem). The top is very supportive, I don't wear the neck strap. Only potential downside, the material is a bit of a rougher cotton cloth, but not unlike other India print dresses/kaftans I've had....and they soften up considerably after a wash. It didn't bother me at all but its definitely not a super soft cotton. Enjoy!
I finally broke down & bought an Alki'i dress (after years of debating it) and I love it! The colors of the one I got (see below) are gorgeous. I'm really thinking about getting another one or two for Roo.

I'm on the search for a headband that has a uv/blacklight lights on it. Has anyone seen this anywhere? Or know how I can make one? I can't seem to find just a short, battery powered, uv light strip.

Just wrap EL wire a few times and attache to anything?

I agree with Bonzai...you should make one! I've had good results making head wreaths using these fairy lights from Adafruit. The wire is bendable between the lights, which makes it easy to mold to whatever you want. The batteries are extra, but they last FOREVER.

Thats a great idea!
I haven't found UV light ones but I did find battery powered mini lights at target... They had 4-5 diff rent colours/styles. I bought them for another project but I think I will end up with them on me some way or another:)

Do they have UV light EL wire? Hmmmm Time for a Google search!

No, I don't think that exists. I suppose I was just assuming that you were using that as a general term. It didn't occur to me that you specifically needed UV

You would need to take the positive and negative of the 2 strips and place them accordingly in the snap connector, then that connector (5mm DC jack) would plug into the battery pack.
If you wore a backpack/bra, you could position the battery pack on your back and have the small black wire running to your headband.
I know this is a project, but I saw your post, and thought "that's something I'd build", so I thought I'd chime in. Also... they do make dimmers for these. If you decided to use these kind of UV LED lights, they are INCREDIBLY bright, and are very low power consumption, thus a dimmer might prove useful...
Be sure that any cheap sunglasses actually have UV protection! it is generally illegal to sell non-UV protected sunglasses in the US but sometimes cheaper pairs made in China and purchased at the dollar store aren't, which is obviously super dangerous because they make your pupils bigger because they are dark, but don't actually protect your eye from the sun coming in.

I second the fairy lights. I have around 15 sets of those lights. They're amazing and hold up really well. But for a headband el wire might be a bit easier.

Good point shelley! I got the shutter shade things with no lens (so no UV protection) but they're for evening time. Dollar Tree does have some really cute sunnies with UV protection though. I saw some in neons and pastels the other day in my local store.
