can anyone recommend a good battery powered fan? I'm looking at this O2 brand of battery powered fan, has anyone got one of these before? $30 seems reasonable. Any suggestions?

I have two of these (1 5 inches 1 8 inches) they are amazing! Wal mart has them, I paid $15 for the 8 inch one!
Just bought all my gear for today, and I'm so excited I'm going to tell you all!
8 bottles of gatorade 16 Chocolate Fudge Poptarts 14 Chips Gripz 6 Cosmo Brownies Gold Bond Sunscreen Bugspray Rinsefree shampoo Biowipes 2 packets of Trailmix A gallon of water (for drunk wake ups) 20 peanut butter cliff bars A can of originial Pringles 2 2L camelbaks (just the bags, they fit very nicely in my regular backpack, so I should only have to fill up once a day if that)
whats the best way to get directions for bonnaroo if im coming from NE? is there an address i could use on google maps or w/e
I usually use 600 New Bushy Branch Rd. when planning directions. (I usually do the 16 hour drive from Toronto, Ontario) Honestly, once you get off the highway in Manchester, TN there are a lot of signs that will direct you to the right place. (If you're looking to plan an "epic road trip" on the way, I HIGHLY suggest using roadtrippers.com

I did not realize until this very moment in time that parts of Canada are closer to 'Roo than is Massachusetts.

Yeah, Coming from Miami it's a 13 hour drive. I didn't know Toronto was only about 180 miles further from Manchester than SoFla is.

Time for the yearly bump. Will see if I can read thru and think of anything else, I learned so much from going to Burning Man. Will be heading to Glastonbury again this year though.

Binder clips are the only thing that's coming to mind. They can hold down a table cloth, keep the sun out by clipping a sheet up, lock a zipper in place. Great lists though, very helpful, even to a vet.
What he said--you can never have too many. Every year I come up with new uses for them and never seem to have enough! Time for my yearly trip to Harbor Freight...

I'm officially packed. This is the lightest I've traveled yet. I got everything in a suitcase and a duffel. Hope I don't miss that sleeping bag too much. I've got my tent, cot, two battery powered fans, a bottle for water, a rain suit (just in case), sunscreen, soap and shampoo in 3 oz bottles, toothbrush and paste, zip lock bags, charger, earplugs, and four days worth of tees, shorts, undies and socks. I'm ready to do this thing.

I don't think I could live at Roo with so little.
I used to bring a truckload of stuff and barely used any of it. I'm flying in this year, so I can't bring my EZ Up or a chair. The canopy will be the only thing I miss. I'm still not brave enough to try the chicojuarz method and just show up with a backpack. I used to make two or three trips from BFE with my utility cart just to get all my stuff to TO. It is such a relief just getting dropped off by the shuttle and just walking in with the bare essentials.

Well my fit is fit full. And we use everything but I'm fancy.

Same. I roll in with a canopy, tent, cot, a comfy hammock, and more. The hammock stand is massive and very heavy, but the second you slip into the hammock, you know it was worth it
Once the sun comes up, I transition into the hammock. The breeze feels wonderfully cool on your back in the hammock.

I updated the list with a big section on the importance of hearing protection up front.
I want people to realize how important it is and what can happen if something goes wrong with your hearing. I figure this thread is the most visible place for me to speak about it and it is something that should be addressed head on. I am now in festival retirement and if we don't have any options to fix hearing issues in the future I may never be able to go to a festival again. that's where I am now at least. It was a good run.

Thanks for sharing your story. I've worn ear plugs (foam or etymotic hifi) to every show I've gone to as an adult and only went to a couple of shows as a young lad. I also made sure to protect my younger kids (7, 9) ears when I took them to Pilgramage Festvisl in Franklin,TN to see Cake last summer.
It blows my mind as to the reckless abandon show/festival goers have towards their hearing.personally I've found the -12db ish units seemingly sufficient with the exception of "on the fence" for bassnectar and recently Seven Lions in a small venue.

Yearly Bump for the newbies. May review to see if any new ideas come to mind. Still mostly retired from festivals, but I think the line-ups were more to my taste 10 years ago. My tinnitus hasn't had any major issues since 2016, but still is annoying. High quality earplugs are the only way I can manage to be around loud volumes.
