Yearly Bump for the newbies. May review to see if any new ideas come to mind. Still mostly retired from festivals, but I think the line-ups were more to my taste 10 years ago. My tinnitus hasn't had any major issues since 2016, but still is annoying. High quality earplugs are the only way I can manage to be around loud volumes.
I'll jump in on that too, just to emphasize the importance of ear plugs. I started wearing them at concerts and whatnot a few years ago, and I always at least bring them now. If it "feels" loud, I use them, but if I'm not up close at an outdoor venue they tend to stay in my pocket. Should have started using them a long time ago, and though my hearing is still pretty normal, I do struggle a bit to converse in noisy situations. I'd like to keep enjoying the music until I'm really old!
Decent ones don't kill the music, even cheap Etymotics work fairly well, and there's a thread here somewhere that is helpful for anyone who wants something more comfortable or that sounds even better. I guess in some cases insurance will even cover visits to an audiologist or whatever for custom fitted ones. Whether you get the foam jobs at the dollar store, spend $15 on basic hi-fi ones, or can drop $300 on pro musician gear, it's worth the hassle if you want to be near the front or if you go to clubs shows.
I'm so excited to return to the farm! I went to Bonnaroo three years in a row (2010, 2011, 2012). I've already started my supply list and the original post in this thread was very helpful. Combined with my own experiences I've got just one thing to add/suggest...
Switch out your Gatorade supply for Pedialyte powder packets. It will save you a ton of space, and is a way better source of electrolytes, and even zinc for your immune system, without as much sugar as a sports drink.

Bumped. I made a few changes, but this still covers most everything. Still no changes for me, I am basically festival retired from tinnitus hence the strong emphasis on hearing protection up front.
