just couldn't hold out huh??? wimp.... btw, im pretty sure i read something in my Runner's World mag this month about how great running is for you, but im too lazy to get up and find the quote right now....don't worry its coming tho. wanna compare biceps at roo this year??? lol!
I have horrible bicep genetics, lets compare backs!

I started going to a boxing gym over a month ago. Best workout possible. My strength and stamina have already increased exponentially, and I expect to be able to dance more feverishly than ever this Bonnaroo. I'd definitely suggest it if you're serious about getting in shape, and it's not like you need to compete (although it's a fun option).
Definitely, I train a few different martial arts a few times a week but stick fighting and kick boxing are what really get me in shape (though they are just as bad, if not worse, than running for joints. Oh well I'm young for now).
Oh and I'm sure the 12oz. curls help to even me out
I think any kind of activity that at some points requires you to use your full physical potential should be sufficient for walkin and dancin in the TN sun; because we can all agree that Bonnaroo will take you to all your limits.
my gf and i are going to start getting up at 6 am everyday for an hour of cardio starting monday. then im going to work out at night after work - weights and more cardio.
it will be interesting how long this new plan lasts and, assuming it does, how much of me i can lose...

I started the gym thing 2 months ago in preperation for Roo. Its not going as good as I expested but its better than nothing. Im lucky enough to be in S.Fl where it never gets cold (unless u go to Langerado on a whim, on the coldest day of the year with nothing, Like we did.) I get to hit the beach on the weekend so I dont burn at Roo.

Be mindful of over training. If you haven't been working our regularly for a while you're better off with one good workout/day involving weights three days/week and always varying the speed/intensity of the cardio. Harder doesn't equal smarter. If you have to split your workout time make one cardio workout high intensity and one low intensity.

I've been doing a version of HIIT on the elliptical every other day for about the past month and a half and on Saturday I run 2-3 miles.
I don't know how long I want to keep up this pace, but I am getting in really great shape (have lost several pounds). Last year, I did something similar and actually ran a 5k race the weekend before the 'roo. It was so nice to be in an environment where walking and dancing and such are pretty well manditory and easily being able to hold up all weekend with no problems.
I need to remind my first-time-Bonnaroo friend who is coming with me this year to at least walk a couple of miles every other day leading up to this so he can keep up.
I mean, if you think about it, I walked 18 miles just going back and forth from my camp to the Centeroo alone, not counting all of the other meandering you do while at the venue...it really pays to at least get used to walking, figure out whether your shoes are broken in enough, and just get set so you can enjoy yourself.

^^^^^^^^^Ive actually been wondering how much walking was actually done last year at Roo. We were pretty far in BFE and I can remember it waslike a 30-45min walk to centeroo. So when you say 18 miles is this pretty acurate, assuming u were in BFE as well.
For those who take supplements... what have you been taking (besides vitamins)? I've been switching off between these:
I used to take just whey protein, and I probably should now too. My schedule now kinda leaves me under three meals a day. I don't wanna be losing weight before 'Roo, especially if it's muscle mass. But that's all I've really taken. I debated taking weight gainers once, but opted out.

Its actually usually cheaper and better to just make your own weight gainer in a blender. I do this on my off days.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

i know, this is going from working out for the last 7 years anywhere from 3 - 5 times a week already to basically doubling it. if anything, its really just adding a lot more cardio....which i need to do anyway. but i agree with your point if i had gone from couch surfing to this

Well, the reason I stopped thinking about the weight gainers was because I changed my workouts considerably. So my workouts went down from at least 6000 yards a day with high intensity sets to 2000-3000 yard workouts focused not so much on improving times, but staying in shape. I figured that I would gain weight since I wasn't swimming as much.
Wrong. It's been almost two years since I stopped swimming and I've gained maybe five pounds. I watch what I eat, but I don't eat anywhere near as healthy as I should. Granted I'm no where near as (I hate to say it) chiseled as I was, but I'm still really skinny.

I've started running a few miles at dawn to supplement my boxing training. As far as a diet goes, I'm a vegetarian and mix it up with different protein shakes and bars... I usually go for what's on sale, but I really like Cliff Builder's bars.
yeah, cliff builders are pretty fantastic. been my breakfast staple for like, 2 years now.
im sure youve had them, but detour bars are pretty awesome too. but both of these have a fair amount of carbs - if that's a concern for you. i love the cookies and cream one, but no one ever has them. and the new almond ones are good. i just picked up a rack of detour bars at bj's yesterday. i should just go to the stupid nutrition store to see what's new / hot and delicious.
Cliff bars were the backstage staple at Lollapalooza. They def gave me some key energy!
Speaking of workouts, I'm going for my marathon session tonight. Prob a good 3-4 hours. Half of the time will be intense workouts, and the rest will be relaxation in the hot tub/sauna/steam room... and finishing off in my club's cafe for some great, healthy eats.
