I just got a pair of Vibram Five Fingers for running, but they will definitely be going to Bonnaroo this year. It takes some getting used to, but they are very comfortable and super grippy.

Nice. I have a pair of the Vibram's as well (the KSOs) and they are pretty comfy. Just be sure to break them in before Roo. They actually give you a pretty decent workout since they force you to use different muscles and stand up properly and you'll be exhausted after 5-6 hours if you haven't totally gotten used to wearing them. Oh and it goes without saying but Gold Bond your feet to avoid blisters (especially at the heel). I love the way they feel on the earth though, like you're walking barefoot.
I broke down and bought some Sanuks today at Mountain High Outfitters. They seemed really, really comfy in the store, so we'll see how they work out for Bonnaroo.
Does anyone know if watershoes are any good in the mud/rain??
Watershoes worked okay for me the first day...until I got a HUGE blister on the bottom of my foot. By the second day I had to switch to my ugly, white, mom tennis shoes (that I brought as back-up). Those worked well, but were not stylish at all.
How do Crocs do in the mud? Last year I saw too many people losing their shoes, especially flip-flops. Plus how's the traction in the mud with Crocs?
I really don't have ANY shoes that I can wear to 'Roo this year. It's a tough decision, because if my feet aren't happy, I'm not happy.
You didn't use any Gold Bond or anything? I hear that's good for prevent blisters.
I'm also contemplating Crocs. I've had issues finding the right size though (I have to go down to a Size 5 it seems to get them fit snug enough. I wear 8.5 sneakers/7.5 in other shoes. 7 didn't fit. "8-9" was definitely too big too). Theyre probably the cheapest of the shoes recommended on here. Sanuk, Teva, Merrell, etc. are all expensive (in my eyes, at least...i know itll last longer/better quality, but i hate spending so much when I'm so tight on money)
Those ones that make you feel like you're barefoot are neat.
I don't know about any of the other brands, but if you just type "buy sanuks" into your google search, you can almost ALWAYS find some on-line retailer having a good sale on them. The selection in style might not always be there, but you can def. find some great deals.

I walked into Dick's Sporting Goods Today and on the table right inside the door was a pair of Tevas in my size. Regular $50 and I got them for $10! Major score. I'm psyched.

You should find a shop and try them on. They're great. I can never go back to sneakers again. I love the way they separate my toes too; my feet feel so free. My toes always crunch up together in sneakers. They're also easy to clean. Oh and as far as wetness goes since your feet go directly in them you never have to deal with the gross, squishy, soggy sock feeling when it rains or you step in a puddle.
mmm yeah. I can imagine that'd be nice. Vibram fivefingers. they just look cool too, which makes it even better. $75ish isn't cool though, but i could maybe try them on in person, figure out my size, and then search for good deals online. Just like I shoulda done with the darned crocs. :-P
I doubt Sanuk really has anything in my style. Not to say Vibram is cause that's super unique, but I might just end up resorting to taking my older pair of sneakers and wearing them most of the time. I'm used to wearin sneakers daily. Dont wanna get my most recent pair all worn out though, and I don't see any use in flip flops if they can fall off easily. Was thinkin of tryin out regular watershoes but mine disappeared .
I might just resort to rain boots in the end. who knows. I need me some $ 1st. I hate my $360 car payments
Hey Daisy, you think it would be ok to order vibrams online? Coz they're literally not available in this sandpit of a country, so i cant try any on before ordering a pair. I workout on the daily and am really keen on gymmin with them (that should break'em in for the roo).. Elhama I found the sprints at a little less than $50.. I think im gonna hit those up, according to reviews they're just a teenie bit more uncomfortable than KSOs but more convenient to put on They look so weird.. I love it. Sneakers+Vibrams should cut it for za Roo
Lightweight waterproof boots. I pass people all Bonnaroo long with boots, last year I also had a broken toe and was still able to pass 40-50 people every walk to and from Centeroo. Boots are expensive, but you will be looking at your crocs like they did you wrong when I pass YOU.
Tank, I ordered mine on line. It doesn't go by usual measuring. Check out the measuring chart on line. when I got them two days later they fit like, well, a glove.
I have the sanuk flipflops.... easily the most comfortable I've ever had.
The traditional sanuks seem nice... but I could NOT imagine wearing closed toed shoes in that heat all day... I need some serious ventilation on my sweaty dogs.
Oops, guess I was late to the response party. Sorry tank! It's great that you ordered a pair. I think you'll love them. I'm a huge fan of trying shoes on to be sure you have the right fit but as long as you know your European shoe size it should pretty much fit perfectly. And the measuring guidelines are on the website (just make sure you don't leave extra room the way you do for sneakers).
Hey no worries, I was just a bit overexcited.. and when i read the guidelines I realized no harm ordering so just went ahead. I feel a bit weird just thinking about having them on
I disagree about using talc with the five fingers. Talc will absorb surface moisture, but not so much. If your feet get really wet it will do nothing. The sprint that I have really locks it around your foot so there is no moving around inside, so no blisters.
Another Crocs person. Wouldn't be caught dead in them outside of Bonnaroo, but they did me very well for two Roos. No blisters, easy to slip off when parked for a show, survived mud and dust and razor-sharp TN grass. I also take a pair of Reef flip flops for camp.
For someone else saying they needed to size down for Crocs to be snug - you actually don't want them snug. When they seem a bit big, that is actually best and they will still stay on in mucky-muck mud. After having my daughter, my old Roo Crocs now fit exactly and now they give blisters. I need to go get myself a new pair in a larger size for this year.

The back strap just isn't even really resting on my heel, so Im going to try a smaller size and see how I feel. I don't want them tight, just make me feel more confident that they wont slip off. I never tried them on at a store, so I'll probably just go to a farther Crocs store near my friends house next weekend and finally try on different sizes.

My back strap doesn't rest on my heel either but they have never slipped off. I agree with alieblue, you don't want the crocs to be too snug because they will cause blisters. They may feel big at first but once you get used to how they feel on your feet, you'll be amazed.
Same for me with the loose Crocs. They'll feel weird when you try them on in the store, but once you're walking around with sweaty\dirty feet, they'll fit like a glove and you won't have blister problems. I wore mine last year through driving rain, deep mud, hot temperatures, dust, etc. and they were equally comfortable the entire weekend.
I know some hate the crocs, others love them. In '07 everyone in my crew had a pair, except for me. Everyone loved them. Has anyone tried the Crocs Santa Cruz? These look a lot better, and I need some arch support, if I want to go all day.
