We are proud to announce the following additions to the Bonnaroo 2006 lineup:
The Codetalkers feat. Col. Bruce Hampton World Party Brothers Past David Ford Be Your Own Pet
: PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND ::
We are deeply honored to welcome to this year's festival, direct from the heart of New Orleans, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. For three days and nights (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) this legendary American institution will recreate our beloved New Orleans with their glorious sounds and styles. Holding court in the Preservation Hall Tent the PHJB will present an array of uniquely New Orleans acts such as Bones, Clint Maedgen, Noise Parade, the New Orleans Bingo! Show, and Liquidrone.
Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Preservation Hall these musicians (many second generation descendents of the original members) carry on the traditions of the birthplace of Jazz.
:: BINDLESTIFF FAMILY CIRKUS ::
Beware!
The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus will be presenting their unique hybrid of vaudeville, classic circus, burlesque and sideshow at this years Bonnaroo. All day Sunday they will transform the Preservation Hall Tent into the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus experience led by Sword Swallower Mr. Pennygaff and Whipcracking Ringmistress Philomena Bindlestiff.
The BFC will also be joining the Dresden Dolls for the late night Saturday Cabaret as well as performing atmospherically all day long - not to be missed!

And so it is...
I'm very psyched about the Preservation Hall Tent. This is probably the most exciting news of this round for me. I don't want to be negative, the additions just don't do it for me this time. But there's so much great music already, I'll be easily occupied the whole weekend.
We're definitely getting Dresden Dolls late night Saturday. That's interesting.

Disappointing, to say the least. Hell, I'm one of the people who was excited for the Streets and some of the other less popular additions, and this is kinda lame. Smaller bands are to be expected, but at this point they should be trying to sell tickets, and this certainly isn't going to be selling any.
I, too, am disappointed and demand a round 6. Has anyone else noticed the trend behind our uncovering of information and bonnaroo's announcements? I think they're just wating for us to find hard evidence that Ben Harper, The Raconteurs and Keller Williams will all be coming to Bonnaroo, then we'll get round 6.

Man, this is why I am not getting high hopes for this year. Though I do admire your determination to see the bands make the roster ;-)

i couldnt help but notice that at the bottom of the anuncement it doesnt say "more artists to be added in teh comnig weeks", i hope this is just a mistake and that there will be a round six. Although, arent we over 80 artists so far, and isnt that how many they said tere would be. I hope theres another round because i was really hoping for ben harper, or a long-shot david gilmour

I picked up on that myself, but we haven't recieved the e-mail yet.
Was there six announcements last year? I want to checkout Codetalkers and Brothers Past for sure, but it seems like the additions this year have gotten progressively worse.
I hope I'm not the only one that is completely ecstatic about this one. The Col. Bruce is amazing, the family circus/dresden dolls should be great. Brothers Past beats any of the last rounds artists. Don't know be your own pet, but sounds interesting.
As far as there being a next round, I would count on it. There are a couple of artists that have unofficially announced that they would be there. Also, there is usually a sixth round. I would definetly bank on them having another round.
While Col. Bruce is the last big name that is needed, I'd say we will get one more. Hopefully the Flaming Lips (doubtful because there playing everywhere else and there is no room on the Roo schedule for them really) or The Keller Williams Incident.

Anyone think the Artist additions are not as good as in years past, b/c Bonnaroo blew their wad in the Initial announcement with 60+ bands?
This could be so very true... Does anyone have copies of past years announcements and how they went?? Are bigger names typically more of a rarity in later additions??
I think up until last year, the largest in initial announcement was like 37 bands or something. I don't think it's ever come close to 60, except this year. The list is freakin huge now, especially with all those comedians added in. Well bigger than any other year.

his set was amazing!!! but the only reason he was announced so late was that he replaced willie nelson who dropped out because of carpal tunnel or whatever it is

Col Bruce was at Bonneroo 2002...
This addition dissapoints me... I was pulling for that Pearl Jam addition... It also concerns me that they did'nt say more additions are coming soon... That might be it! However 2005 had 6 rounds..
