i was right under the screen that fucked up at bonnaroo 06 during the first part of radioheads set, i remember when it went out the guys that were up there on the laptop started freaking out and kept trying to fix it then hanging their heads out and lookint to see if it was back on, eventually like a whole team of people were up there under the left screen (the one that kept cutting off) trying to get it to come back on, i remember thinking whoever was in charge of the screens was shitting his pants up there, anyway, fun stuff
I remember having a similar thought, something like: an IT guy responsible for the video screens is about to have a very bad night. I say it was a testament to how great was Radiohead's set that the video problem didn't bother me a bit, and it didn't even bother my friend who is not a Radiohead fan, hadn't really listened to them before, watched from the back lawn, and still said it was a great show.
I also don't think the screens were off on purpose because the video guys kept trying to reboot them, but one kept shutting off. They finally scrapped the video and played the content from Radiohead's stage screens.

I'm suprised Radiohead would release their performance considering all the video problems they had throughout the show. Their BSOD will look crappy on DVD.
The DVD will not be shots of the screen though. It will be shots of the band on stage, recorded by the camera crew. Just becuase the screens f#cked up doesn't mean the recording was f#cked as well.
spindlest - probably not. the rest of the ones mentioned would most likely be seen as nothing more than speculation. that's not to say anyone here is a liar, but at the same time, anyone could log on here and say that their best friend's dog is friends with so and so who told them that the flaming grundlescabs were gonna be at bonnaroo, but that doesn't mean it's true.
I just meant the bands that actually have 'roo on their tour schedules. from what i understood, the bands at the begining of this thread had bonnaroo on their schedule.
This is really depressing that we only know 8 bands that are playing the Roo, and it is February 1st. At least the people that are confirmed are good stuff. I have really gotten into Cold War Kids and I am really really going to try to make it to the comedy tent this year to catch Patton.
But Seriously AC lets get this thing going. Us "crazy message board people" need to stop speculating on the line-up and need to start speculating on stage times. Throw us a bone and just leak one of the headliners, or if you don't want to prematurely drop the bomb, at least announce on the 12th when the Police will probably announce their tour.
phils doing a show in a couple weeks. all reports are that his health is fine. and there is a rumor of a tour with bobby trey and winwood. so dont give up hope for phil at roo!!!!!!!!
Rodrigo y Gabriela are playing in Britain in early June. Just like DMB, this doesn't rule out a bonnaroo appearance. It just makes it a little less likely.
I recieved an e-mail from mutemath today. They said that they weren't playing bonnaroo. . . that they don't like to invite the same bands back two years in a row, with a few minor exceptions.
Definitely want to see them play for sure. I think they played Coachella last year, whatever festival it was I forget, but I heard it was a pretty sweet show.

There have been a few others that were confirmed by word-of-mouth (Mute Math and Galactic w/ Mr Lif), but I suppose those still aren't as solid as website tour dates. Personally I'm trusting in them, though.
i thought mute math was confirmed as not at roo. i read somewhere that they got the letter tlg got last year about not having the same acts 2 years in a row.

??? That seems strange to me. Do you remember where you read that? Why would they have a problem with an act two years in a row but not 4 or 5 years in a row? (Umphrey's, MMJ)
In any case, here's the original post:

I talked to the Mutemath guitarist and he said they were playing this year and said it would be a tent but not sure which one. If you haven't checked Mutemath out they are a great live band their cd really doesn't do them justice. They played last year but i think in like the Troo Music Lounge.
ya i dont know about that letter. i thought it was bs when tlg got it last year. but thats what superfly tells bands. id imagine its a polite way to say not this year. they cant have everybody back every year. ill look for the mute math thing.. i know i read it on inforoo though.

Sucks.

Huh, must've missed that. Damn, I had banked on them returning! Oh well, I guess that does go to show that the word-of-mouth confirmations aren't always trustworthy either.
The thing with Mutemath is this: it would be kind of rude to have them do the cafe thing two years in a row. And although the group has a great live reputation, their studio stuff is just badly produced at this point, and I can't say they are anymore popular now than they were a year ago. Now if Mutemath had blown up a bit from last year's show, I could see them commanding a stage spot and coming back to Roo. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
They might be considered to big too be a cafe act, too small to play a stage.

See, I disagree with almost everything you said. I do think they are significantly more popular now than a year ago, and I think that if they were returning they would be in a tent-- their album was re-released on a major label and I for one have heard lots of talk about them over the past 6 months or so. Also I'm not sure what you mean by "badly produced", I think the production sound on their album suits them well.
