i'm going where the sun keeps shining, thru' the pouring rain, going where the weather suits my clothes. backing off of the north east wind, sailing on summer breeze, and skipping over the ocean like a stone.

What, I lose karma for correctly referring to Walmartaroo? I think if anything would entice TMV to play, it would be the Garnier Fructis hair salons.
Cmon, everyone knows Omar and Cedric can't touch water. Their hair blows up into a large purple tyrannasaurus once they do so.
karma for you fine sir.
Well folks, it now looks like no Volta in '07. Negative karma for superfly. Now we continue onwards and upwards on our lobbying for Volta in '08. Now I propose a call to arms in the form of this thread hitting 50 pages by next February. You all know what you must do.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!

Same things happened to me. After I played through Amp enough I went on a TMV hiatus for a few months.
Lately all I've been listening to is Se Dice and their back catalogue.
Superfly, why hast though forsaken me? Looks like I'll be picking up tour tickets for them this year (was the plan anyway). I was just really hoping I'd not only be able to see them at Roo, but have the opportunity to show them off to some friends who don't particularly dig their studio work.
Oh well. Now starts the lobbying for TMV in '08. Come November I think we should all also begin to flood superfly with emails requesting them. We'll make this happen. It may be next year, but we'll get the job done.

I agree, someone during the fall or winter should make a petition thread about getting The Mars Volta to Bonnaroo in 2008.

I like the Mars Volta. I really do, and I hope that Superfly brings them back. But I am really in no rush for them to do so. They have a plethora of other great acts like Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, and others that have never played Roo and would make awesome late night acts as well. So while I hope they bring back the Mars Volta at some point, I just hope they wouldn't do it at the expense of giving some of these other acts a shot to prove they are late night capable.

"Now, following the completion of his score and numerous solo recordings, Rodriguez-Lopez and Bixler-Zavala are putting final touches on Mars Volta's follow up to 2006's Amputechture in Los Angeles, and Rodriquez-Lopez is slightly mum, offering only a few details. "It should be done in a couple of weeks," he said. "It's supposed to come out in September, but you know that works." -Spin

Knowing how pushed back their past albums have been, I would assume we won't see this album till sometime end of this year, beginning of next. Hopefully it leaks quite early like the past two though. And for all you anal people out there, I still buy the album when it comes out. Why should I wait when I could here it now?
