At that, I think the only album cover of theirs that I think is really that great is Frances.
But, if you've seen them as either ORLG or Volta in the last year, you know... these guys are in top form and the new songs are a welcome change of pace for the band. I fully expect the best thing they've put out since Amputechture.
And, I really would take any of Omar's other projects over another Volta show, easily... would have years ago. I was actually initially disappointed to find out that the solo Omar show that I had bought tickets to was actually The Mars Volta doing The Mars Volta songs... then I attended the show, experienced the songs brand new first hand, and could not say I was disappointed at all. Easily my favorite time seeing them since my first, and I think from a performance standpoint alone, probably the best I've ever seen them. Doesn't change the fact that I'd love to see an Omar Trio concert with him, Juan, and Deantoni, or that I'd like to see his full solo band with Ximena on vocals, joined by Frusciante for something totally different, or as an At The Drive In concert. I just want more Omar Rodriguez Lopez on the farm.

The ORLG show here in Knoxville was one of the best I saw in 2011, hands down. When I saw Cedric come out, I knew it was gonna be incredible. I can't wait!! Is there any chance at all that we get both TMV and ATDI?

I don't understand how $1000 a week is even possible, I couldn't do that if I tried really really hard...
I could see it but ONLY because of oil. I could possibly see somebody smoking 15 G's of shatter (it'd be crazy, but it is possible)
I forgot about that shit but apparently my cousin is doing 1g dabs which I found to be ridiculous. When I went to CO in 2014 to kick off the legality they gave me that shit and It kicked me in the ass but I still begin to comprehend 1k per week. I guess tolerances could turn you into the Fleetwood Mac of weed but still...

I can see edibles and buying in bulk at the dispensaries, being able to run up a tab that high but every week? That seems a bit excessive. Also, if you are with people the smoke and use also, you are probably not just buying for yourself. Even with dabs and shatter though, that is still a ridiculous amount. While I don't necessarily agree with his approach, I am willing to test this "1k of dabs per week" theory. Quick, who knows how to crowd source fifty grand for wax?
if you don't dig volta... really just check out their reggae band before Volta... De Facto.. Pretty much same members but playing different instruments..

I love anything with John Frusciante. If you don't have at least several 2001-2004 John Frusciante bootlegs, you need to fix your playlist. I even learned to love his recent bleep bloop stuff...
