^ Just call it a gut feeling. Also, I think they are in Flips' shoes in having one memorable late night show, building a rep (for Roo) from that, then returning to a bigger slot (Which Stage) late night.
Just my idea.
I could be wrong, but with all the other more "exciting" , "ground breaking", "psychedelic", and just more "epic" shows on the line up this year, I think Wilco has a very, very slim chance of being a late night show.
Not taking anything away from Wilco, at all, mind you.
No one thinks they will be, im just saying they would be awesome if they did. I will prolly have to miss TMV anyway since i myself believe they will be late night but itll be against NIN and R7. ill be at NIN.

I'd rather they be mid-day, and free of conflict as I missed them in 07... like some of their albums (especially Hotel Yankee Foxtrot) and would think it'd be a good, relaxing show... I just think it'd put me to sleep late at night.
What about Relentless 7? A lot of people think he will have that slot but the more i think about it he may be in a tent late night because after all they dont have that much material.

Wilco and Mars Volta conflicting is seriously starting to scare me. I think Wilco will be on What before Springsteen and Mars Volta COULD (def. not certainly) be closing a tent around the same time. Hopefully the schedule works out so that if that does happen I could catch some of Mars Volta before seeing all of Wilco.

oh yeah, der. so lemme edit that. and so would NIN get Kanye's 2008 sat 2-4 slot? cause i can def deal with missing a lil nin, while watching tmv rock whatever stage they're at, and then heading over as the show ends.

I'd like to see NIN but ... I won't cry if I miss them.. for tmv. I'd deal. lol. I've never heard Wilco though... I should look em up. Any suggested CDs?

same here brother, but that white stripes show was unearthly. i'll never regret going to that. Jack White has owned my attention since.

all the times i've seen wilco at festivals have been late afternoon, so i'm not sure how'd they do at a latenight set. either way, i'm not going to see TMV, so i'm not too worried.
Why is everyone seeing Ben Harper late night? Everytime I've seen him at a festie it's been a late afternoon set....and I kinda see that the same this year.....unless he does part of SuperJam again... ;D That would be AWESOME

i think it will be wilco(what) vs. tmv (which) pre-headliner late night will be nin (what), ben harper or govt. mule (which and this tent), yeasayer/mgmt (that tent), moe. (the other tent) maybe govt. mule actually gets a day slot and there will be another dj in a tent or the super jam
I won't be dissapointed with a day set, but I think that Superfly should know that the Mars Volta will put on the show of the weekend if they give them as much time as they want with a late-nite show and let them loose. I have listened to the shows the band has done at festivals when they have only 90 mins, and they are great, but giving them 3 or more hours would be the cat's pajamas.

Im pretty sure ill only be able to see 2 and they are all in my top five 2 see. Ive seen MGMT before, and TMV unpredicability leaves me with Wilco and NIN.

everyone seems so confident that tmv is going to be a saturday show. i've been thinking that they'd play on friday. for a while i was thinking it would be similar to MMJ's show last year, in which they had which stage all night. but i have a feeling they could play a tent, probably that tent, which i think they played in 05.
i've recently been thinking they might play saturday at that tent, similar to sigur ros last year. (but the saturday time slot comes in my mind mostly from reading these boards)
i think there is a good chance they'll be a friday night show, especially because it would prevent any NIN TMV conflict, but that creates the whole situation where they have to play against phish, which i imagine might drive some people crazy.
hahahaa. it's so funny because so many people go through the same volta stories. i forced the cd on my friends... 2 years ago? they said it sucked and blah blah blah, then a day or two later, they asked what it was. made me proud. it seems to take 2 or 3 listens for me to really begin to appreciate it, maybe because it's just so... ... complex? i dont know.
amazing. my 14hour drive to TN will consist of LOTS of mars volta. <3

it also says 8 pm, which is very unlikely, i think you can only choose one date when you make those things on myspace.
