Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
My wife may not be thrilled, but I feel much more at ease now. I've seen them about 5 times over the years but never in an environment like Roo. I can't wait!!
dude thanks for this! even though it sounds like they are just speculating, it sounds like recovery will last up to 2 months and their current tour is rescheduled after the summer festivals!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tool playing without Danny is out of the question.
Whatever the status, Superfly really need to make some kind of announcement prior to the onsale, because they know Tool is bringing in a huge demographic that will not be happy if the band is unable to play.
I'd love to see Tool at Bonnaroo, but if it isn't meant to be then so it goes. In any case, they need to be upfront with the Bonnaroovians about the status. I'm hesitant to buy tickets not knowing who the headliners are at least, and I'm sure a lot of other folks feel the same way.
I really wouldn't count on it. Firstly, it says right on the ticket page, "All acts advertised have confirmed their appearance at the 2007 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival; however, acts are subject to change without notice." So they are legally free to sell tickets even if they suspect that one of their confirmed artists may need to drop out. And consequently they won't say anything because at this time of year what Superfly/AC cares about most is making their biggest and fastest tickets sales ever. Hate to say it, but that's business.

^^^Oh absolutely, I agree with you as well. Judging by the info people here have dug up I'm very optimistic. I'm just saying that, regardless of the outlook I know Superfly will stay mum.
well i really hope that everything is fine and they play. but if they put string cheese into the headline spot it could go down as the bicep that saved bonnaroo!!!!! im still interested in seeing tool, but a sci headline at roo would be unreal. i could die a happy man!
and please no tool with a different drummer. that would suck. not saying someone else couldnt do it but i wouldnt be nearly as excited to see it. and i also hope they dont try too hard to get a similar replacement. if they do have to go simialr then id take black sabbath. i guess nin would be similar but they bring about the same amount of excitement for me. id prefer something else but i listened to the 15 years ago so id like to see them. still not convinced i wanna see them or tool at roo but ill take whatever they give me!
let me confirm this. tool will not have a replacement drummer. he will either be able to play, or they wont play. i promise there will be no replacement drummer. no way.

^^^Right. IF they backed out and someone on the lineup were stepped up to take their place, I think it would be the next one listed, The White Stripes.
is anyone else suprised or waiting for the artists additions? shouldnt there be some today? because that could tell us something about the other bands that would rise up IF tool dropped out.
If Tool can't play I could see BHIC being the next logical choice to move up. No offense to the White Stripes, but I don't see them playing longer than 90 minutes. While I can see and have seen BHIC play for 3 hours...
i dont see string cheese as less of a draw for a roo crowd then the white stripes are. and one of them is capable of playing a headline set. the other plays hour long sets. id say harper is likely too. but id say his appeal is no more then sci.
look how far bob weir is down the list and he headlines plenty of fests.
id say dave is who would fill in. hes got that mainstream draw. i cant remember thouguh. he might be in europe at that time

Bob Weir and Ratdog are also in no way big enough to headline bonnaroo. I honestly don't think there is a 3rd headliner on that list that could take over for a band like Tool. I just don't see it. If tool pulls out, they will likely have to find a replacement that is not on that list.
I'm crossing my fingers that he recovers quickly. Four months is a long time and he'll have lots of time to devote to physical therapy. It would be great if Bonnaroo was one of their first concerts back out. But May doesn't seem unreasonable for him to be playing again.
Hopefully today tool announces their new schedule. I am really excited to see them, but without them headlining some of the shiny-ness of the lineup is out of it for me. I like a lot of bands there, but that was the one that made this a MUST for me. Without them it's a "That would be nice, but..." But that's just me.
I just hope they announce it soon. I hate the waiting game ><
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
Tool Tour Postponed After Drummer Injury Tool February 22, 2007, 10:30 AM ET Katie Hasty, N.Y. Fans who bought tickets to Tool's upcoming spring tour will have to wait a little longer see the band live. The outing has been postponed indefinitely after drummer Danny Carey tore his bicep, requiring surgery.
According to Tool's Web site, the procedure "went well" but Carey will not be recovered in time for the planned start of the tour on March 15 at the Pearl in Las Vegas. Rescheduled dates have yet to be announced.
The tour was to keep Tool on the road in North America through the end of April. It is expected the band will be able to honor a previously announced co-headlining appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival in mid-June in Manchester, Tenn.
Tool is touring in support of its latest studio album, "10,000 Days," which has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Im in the same boat with my girlfriend. She's really not into them yet. Hopefully with this news she will get the opportunity.
It took a live show to get me into the wonderful world of Maynard. I started with APC, but Tool will put on an amazing show, as you well know. I hope she becomes a fan!

i hear a lot of people saying similar things to this and your argument certainly has merit, but i wonder if we're really comparing apples to oranges here. let's face it, being the drummer for a band like Tool places an -entirely- different set of demands on your body physically than a normal human being does...so even if it takes the average person x amount of time to recover from this kind of surgery, is the average person on stage beating the nuts out of a set of drums for hours a night? if Carey is -anything- less than 100% by then I can't see how they'd take the chance of risking further injury..
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
