ok, so i just looked up a gwar video for shits and giggles to get an idea of what their performance is like, and all i have to say is, WTF. who gets a kick out of watching that stuff....imo, it's ridiculous
but just go to youtube and look up 'womb with a view' (http://youtube.com/watch?v=sHHoJTrdrjE) and that is what i thought my body was going to do during the tool show last year.
I think GWAR would mess with peoples' heads in a completely uncool way, if they're in a typical Bonnaroo state of mind.
I mean, mad love for GWAR, but if GWAR plays Roo, there would be an awful lot of freaked out people huddled together for safety and comfort.
DUDE... I DON'T KNOW WHAT BAND I JUST SAW, BUT THIS ACID MAN... IT'S FREAKING ME OUT MAN!!! i was like listening to the band, and this giant worm came and ate one of the audience members... and this other guy with giants spikes on his shoulders came out with this giant dingaling and came everywhere! it was the best string cheese incident i'd ever seen, man....
as far as musical styling... i don't see much difference in Clutch and Gwar playing... they sound similar as far as tone and playing. The vocals are less throaty in Gwar, because he kind of "speaks" the lyrics alot of the time...
... on top of that, Gwar puts on the craziest stage show you've ever seen...
also, you won't have to wait in a line to get painted, just be in the first 30 rows of the Gwar stage and come out painted Red! :-)
if john mayer is really there i could see in the superjam with some special guests like bb king and chuck berry (on that list).
John Mayer plays a mean strat... end of story... don't knock him until you've seen him live...
I saw him a few years ago at a festival. I enjoyed his performance, but I wouldn't call myself a fan. That being said, I really don't understand why he is constantly mocked on (except for about his relationships with cheesy pop singers). ;D

i have to agree with thejewclaw....i saw mayer at the crossroads guitar festival, and he can tare it up....he did a jam with buddy guy, ec, doyl bramhall II, amazing buddy guy wanted him to sing, he just shook his head and played the guitar instead.....get the video and watch it
my opinion of him changed when i heard him cover SRV's "lenny" -> Hendrix's "Wind Cries Mary" flawlessly... but also adding a bit of his own flair. (i'll put that in the sharing music section later today if i can find the cd)
i saw him in 2002 at the norva(1500 person theatre) right before he blew up, and he was incredibly talented and had one of the more entertaining stage banter personas i'd ever heard...

Did you see the time he dressed in the bear costume and went and made fun of himself to people in the parking lot before a show? Thats when he convinced me that he was a pretty cool guy.

john mayer is simply a god on a guitar...end of story. at least now that he's got his cheesy albums out of the way, perhaps we could see him playing more music that fits his style...maybe some soulful blues
did anyone catch the grammy performance last year with john legend and john mayer...GREATNESS
First time poster, even though I feel like I know many of you personally by now, haha. Just for the sake of saying, this will be my third Bonnaroo.
I am friends with the guys in King Khan & BBQ Show, talked to them this morning and they said if they are playing, that it is news to them, because they haven't heard anything about it.
By the way, these guys are great, and I highly advise checking them out!
Before I just thought, why post if I don't have anything original to say, now I do.

Great tid bit.
I think they would be great at Roo, but when I saw them on the "lineup", I thought it odd as I wasn't aware they were heavy on the festival circuit.
This just further confirms that the worst fake linup ever is in fact fake.
KK&BBQ would work out really well on one of the smaller stages, they are really fun to watch, and it is amazing that they are but two guys. They are going to perform at the pitchfork festival this year. There is a big push coming from this style of music, another group of friends, The Black Lips, made the Coachella lineup!
Side note: I started a small festival in my community last year, going to keep growing it throughout the years! Just google "layflats" if you are interested. No major headliners or anything, but we have a great local scene and it all benefits local children's art therapy and early education programs!
despite the whole metal aspect of it, gwar would be cool due to the combination of hot roo days and the constant onslaught of the "blood guts piss and cum".....might be quite cooling to be drenched with that " urungus stew" lol

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. So hit me with music. Hit me with music, now, yeah. Hit me with music. Brutalize me with music.
