and mark my words... we only have 2 headliners so far...
no offense, but i don't know whose words i can mark anymore... i mean for the longest time, everyone was preaching that there was NO WAY metallica would be there. i took it to heart and honestly i feel let down. i don't think anyone is being close minded for not wanting to go this year... i mean personally, i don't have the money to just drop for the lineup this year, along with the heat/rooflu factor, it just doesn't seem worth it to me anymore. i know, i know it's all about the environment! yea thats a factor, but it obviously is about the music primarily, and if you have a tough time saving up enough money to make it there anyway, and you don't like the lineup, (opinions make the world go round) then i don't see any sense in going for the vibes... i can go camp out with my friends and have good vibes for free... i am sad that i will miss david cross and garafolo. looks like a no go for me this year
first off last year i saw Common hit the festival circuit. amazing show. Kanye is awsome live. to prove it i would like to draw to your attention the band that apparently isnt good enough for bonnaroo..u2. they always have amazing opening acts touring with them. ie bush, no doubt, kings of leon, INXS, Damien Marley, and guess who?!?!?that right Kanye West. He is good trust me. he'll put on a great show and not to mention Lupe. Dude is siiiick! i am not even a hip hop fan really. But i love lupe fiasco. look into some of his upcoming projects he is doin icluding an album with kanye himself. Lupe is another versatile artist, look for him to show his face dring talib.
My thoughts.. Absolutely ANYTHING is possible for Roo. The anticipation of who may be added and what guests show, is all part of what makes up Roo. But for those of ou knocking each other for saying someone may or may not be there just remember, this is BONNAROO, and there isn't ANY RULES! They aim to suprise and this year is gonna be sweeeeeetttt..
how bout a little Roo yell, just to warm up the pipes?? BONNNAAAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, see ya'll there
Ghostland Observatory and MIA are not "electronica" (which isn't even a real genre). MIA is dance, Ghostland Observatory does not make up a "Dance" portion of festival.
I like the lineup, actually, but there is no denying that it is missing a dance/electronic element.
I'm sorry but forget the headliner bull for a second...have we not realized Jakob Dylan is going to be there...a lot of you guys know you liked the Wallflowers back in the day. I just can't see him going wrong...I think that will be a great show.
we still have 30 bands to get!!! does anyone else notice that the bands they did give us are: 1)ones that have already been confirmed through other websites/sources 2) headliners 3) new acts which are what a lot of people are really interested in.
i was doing some thinking in my biology lab today, and it just seems to me that all the no-brainers like les, moe., bisco, sts9, galactic....they are going to be announced in time... bonnaroo probably hasnt asked them yet because they were concerned about "whose new and big that we can snatch up before other festivals"...and what not. they know that galactic and other roo favs will probably say yes unless a schedule conflict arrives.
and i still dont think zeppelin will show. remember it wasnt ac/superfly that lied to us about the zeppelin/metallica thing... it was metallica's management. so i tend to believe ashley capps when he says that THESE are the headliners. i CAN believe that jack johnson will headline. he's headlining coachella... why not roo? and dont say because roo is better than coachella because coachella are the ones with my dream headliner (waters). also i still believe that $240 is too cheap for zeppelin. it seems that with pearl jam, metallica, jack johnson, and kanye.. that seems a fair price.
Who cares about the headliners anyway? Just gives you a better chance to get up close for the late night artists you really want to see.
Yeah sure, I'll check out Pearl Jam and Metallica, but you can be damn sure I'll be leaving their sets an hour early to grab an awesome spot for late nights, just like every other headliner I've watched (except Radiohead).
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "

does anyone agree with me that Langerado is this year's roo?
Nope, completely disagree. I've been to both festivals and while Langerado is awesome and plays it's role well as the kick-off to festival season, it will never, ever be Bonnaroo. The lineup is good, but is David next to Bonnaroo's goliath in my mind.
