late night still looks weak
Reading your comments on the latenight sets, it occurred to me that you must have never seen Ghostland Observatory live. Please change this by checking out this video.
Aaron Behrens (the guy dancing and singing) has promised a massive laser light show for their current tour. I'm busing out to D.C. during my Spring Break to see this show, as I anticipate something fantastic. Keep an open mind, and come have your mind opened with me at their 'roo show. I'll buy you a beer, or whatever you think you'll need. This show will change people, I guarantee it.
Don't hate on somebody just because they don't like the lineup, and don't hate on somebody just because they DO like the lineup.
Also, just because Metallica and Jack Johnson are going to be there doesn't mean it's going to be "brofest." ::)Hell, I know more types like that who listen to DMB and WSP (bands who have played Bonnaroo multiple times) than Metallica and Jack Johnson combined. And quit making stupid stereotypes about "frat guys and sorority girls." Not everybody who's greek is the same. Get over it.
I am very excited about this lineup. I can't wait to see MMJ live, Death Cab again, Ben Folds again, Jack Johnson, and a bunch of smaller indie acts that I missed when they came close to me. Also, I really think this is Metallica and Kanye West's chance to impress me. The farm will always be the same...people say the vibe is different, but I don't think so. Personally, I left with "close friendships and feelings of connection" last year just the same as I did in 06.

Pretty funky man!
Hell yes. I'm rather sure Aaron is the nicest guy in music, too. A great conversationalist and interesting human being. You can take me up on my offer if Panic doesn't.
I first saw ghostland on the ACL webcast of 2006. I was very intrigued. I'm kind of iffy on them. I love the keys, kind of turned off by the girl. but I think I'll give them a shot, if the conflicts aren't there.

Ghostland is two guys, albeit one is remarkably androgynous.
I'm sure he is, but I watched their entire set on ACL in HD (the TV show, not the webcast) a few weeks back and It never even occurred to me that that was a guy. I mean he even sounds like a girl with a deeper voice.

Haha, yeh. You're not the first to be confused. I'm trying to find the interview where Aaron said he's never been bothered by issues of gender identity, but I'm striking out. I think it's audio, and I'm too impatient and into my playlist now to find it.
Sorry for the excessive posts, but this band excites me to no end. I saw them back when they couldn't even sell out a bar of 400 people, and now they'll be playing to 20,000, give or take a few. Yay!
By the way...it's kind of comforting, in a horribly frustrating way, to see all the whining and complaining. For those that haven't been around here the past couple years, you wouldn't know that this is kind of normal - if not a bit unhealthy. I just know that it means Bonnaroo is upon us! Can't wait to see you all (or those that haven't talked themselves out of it within the first 24 hours) there!!!

Damn straight. I have this crazy video on my phone where it starts off with him in my camera/face and he dances all across the stage and ends right back up in my cameara (all in a matter of 20-30 seconds) I would go gay for him, probably Thomas too..
The line-up high has worn off a bit. I'm kind of debating whether or not I still want to shell out the cash for tickets. The "BIG 4" are not really doing it for me. I'm only mildly interested in three of the four acts (Jack Johnson is a snooze fest in my book). I'd essentially be going for MMJ, Plant & Krauss, Raconteurs, Willie, ABB, Sigur Ros, BSS, Mastodon, Battles, D-BT and a few others. I don't know; that still sounds great, but I could probably catch most of those acts when they go on tour.
i'm glad i clicked on that [ghostland observ] youtube video. i have a feeling i'm going to be dancing quite a bit. i think they just jumped ahead to the act i'm most excited to see.

If Spraycan, Janne, and me are the only one's dancing I will be very upset. At least half of everyone will have/be dancing by the end.
Gauranteed..
That's inevitable. These guys could wake the dead and have them dancing. Btw, I'm not a dancer normally, either. I remember leaving my first Ghostland show saying "Whoah. I just danced. And danced. And danced.... whoah."
