personally i dont dig the line-up. if the additions arent killer, i wont be there, i'll be hitting other fests instead. the vibe was different last year, this year doesnt look any more promising. doop, oh well. sigur ros would be ill.....but metallica? whatever. no volta? im truely dissapointed. i think the enormous amount of money id spend on roo this year is going to go toward like 3 smaller festivals and i'll have just as much fun as i would at roo, if not more because of the more relaxed security and abundance of "fun" (which bonnaroo was lacking last year, shakedown all but dissapeared), three different times
Surely there will be tons of people thrilled about this lineup, but I gotta say I'm horribly dissapointed. I just can't wrap my head around the names Metallica and Kanye... it's just... ahhhh.... uhhhh... words are not coming...
All I can say it they've freakin SOLD OUT the vibe they spent years cultivating. I'm dealing with total disillusionment here.
If Johnson remains a headliner over Lesh, Allman Brothers, even Nelson and BB FREAKING KING... what the hell? I mean, what in the hell???
Metallica will be fine as long as they mostly play things from the Black Album and older. Their newer stuff kinda sucks. The same with PJ. Thier first couple of albums and their newest one are great, but everything in between I'm not so impressed with. And what's up with Mastodon? I love heavy metal, but they seem out of place at Bonnaroo.
I wish I could hit up Langerado this year...I def. miss Echo Project, Bonnaroo is just not cutting it for me this year. I have such mixed feelings I feel like I should love the line up and give it a chance because it Roo I have faith in it and feel like it can't go wrong, but I feel like it has gone wrong...IDK
Jack Johnson isn't a headliner people. Phil Lesh & Friends will probably close. He's just billed in the press release as third because he's a bigger name than Phil Lesh...a la Beck in 2006.
My guess is Jack Johnson closes the Which Stage Sunday.
maybe we will get some form of DMB as the 3rd headliner, i still think we will see another headliner even if zep isnt announced officially.. give zep latenight mainstage.. haha
Can someone put up the link where u saw the ticket prices. The line-up is really weird this year! Im still goin cause i gotta see Broken Social Scene, Sigur Ros and countless others!!
Whoa, all that buildup, all that anticipation, for THIS!?! Other than Pearl Jam, there isn't a *single* headliner there I want to see. To echo others here, Jack Johnson isn't a headliner. Sure, the other bits of the lineup sound good, but, I'm certainly not sold, especially without reduced price early bird tickets.
I'm satisfied. I'm a bit dissappointed with the headliners except for Pearl Jam, but even Metallica and JJ I wouldn't mind seeing. I'm really looking foward to Allman Bros, Phil Lesh, Jose Gonzalez, Iron & Wine, B.B. King, Talib, Lupe, MMJ, Sigur Ros and Vampire Weekend. A bunch of others, but I'm not going to list them all here.
The first tickets will be priced at a special rate of $209.50 each. There is a limited allotment of tickets at this price. When the first allotment is sold out, ticket prices will increase without notice to $229.50 and then again without notice to $244.50. All tickets are 4-day weekend passes, which include camping and parking.
yeah im very disappointed too. wake up the guy that fell asleep after bonnaroo 2002, and didnt wake up till today. he'd definately go back to sleep. point being that IMO bonnaroo has changed and i think changed for the worse. im just not digging any of these names. i do like phil lesh, allman bros. umphreys..... there are other good names...but nothing really thats like OMG I HAVE TO GO! ...i can go to allgood and camp bisco for the same price and have twice as fun without the metallica and kanye fans.
but for reals.. i havent totally decided if i am going to go or not. i just will have to wait and see who the other 30 add ons will be.
i dont know, if they dont put them latenight it wont be all it could......if they do put sigur ros latenight, it will be mind blowing for anyone that goes
Lineup is deep. I'm interested in seeing about 90% of the bands. Battles is the best band I've seen in a long time and will really rip it up at Roo. I've seen Mastadon and The Sword in a festival setting and trust me, there is room for metal at Roo.
I've never been in it for the headliners (rest up for late night) and have been bored with the Dead/WSP/Dave variations for years, but this is a clear step down in terms of headliner "Wow factor" from the last two years. Fine with me.
It'll be really tough for me to make it this year and I was waiting for lineup to figure out how hard to try. The depth of the lineup has me thinking I'm gonna try to go.
I think the thing that bothers me most about the lineup is how much people are going to complain about it.

wow! do Bonnaroo fans really feel they are that much better than any other festival?! Ever since the "rumors" have started flowing in this year, all i have heard is how you wanted pearl jam, and lz, and the verve, and oasis, and daft punk, and god himself to do a superjam with zeus ft. buddah on the drums. You say you want an eclectic lineup and your promoters have listened to it and then you complain about it?!?!?!LZ will not be there. period. do the math, look at the prices for there one show alone. look at theprices you pay. look at all the other bands that you are getting. NO LED ZEPPELIN! If jack johnson is big enough to headline Coacehlla trust me its big enough for bonnaroo. in the midst of all your "rumors" i think your heads got way too far in the clouds. no concert promoter could afford what you all have requested. hell you guys were shooting down getting u2. (which is way too big of a band for little bonnaroo anyways. Probably the biggest rock band ever.) so no. I will not go to this festival. Not b/c of the lineup.props to superfly for pushing the envelope and getting some amazing bands. no. its b/c the ROO' fans are a bunch of whiney babies who are never going to be greatfull for anything. I will stick to my C3 presents events(lollapalooza, ACL, and coming soon with support from europes niggest festival promoters..vineland festival) Go charles attal!your my boy!
