Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
"I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fücking special I wish I was special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here" -Radiohead
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” -Benjamin Franklin
...still don't know what to think, the Tennessean says "According to festival organizers, Led Zeppelin will not perform at the Bonnarooo Music & Arts Festival, despite widespread reports to the contrary" - but they provide no info as to when this statement was made - they still could be referencing earlier statements. They also mention NME's teaser & AP taking down the articles/changing them, but by the way it's worded the Tennessean does not make it clear if NME or AP were actually wrong in their initial reports - just that they took them down.

Hey jannephotography, glad to see that even as a bonnavirgin you're not writing off the lineup! I guarantee you'll have a good time - and welcome to the boards!
And hi everyone else, I've calmed down from the insanity so I came back to chat. I'm feeling good about this. Last year I didn't know I was going until way closer, so this year I have lots of time to get into the music that will be there. Last year introduced me to a few people who are some of my favorite artists now, so I want to let this year do the same before I even get there. And I don't care if I'm not thrilled with the headliners, because I never went because of the Police and Tool last year anyway.
I cant express how much I'm excited about this lineup. Especially if Zeppelin pans out and then say...The Mars Volta gets added (I still have hope!)
but come on...
Metallica, Pearl Jam, MMJ, Allman Brothers, Minus the Bear, Sigur Ros, MASTODON (OH THERE IS A GOD), Iron and Wine, Umphrey's McGee, The Sword, OAR, Against Me! Ben Folds, 2 Phil lesh sets, 2 Bela Fleck sets, Battles, Gogol Bordello, !!!, oh myyyyyyyyyyyy
wow. thats pretty ugly. so is phil not a headliner? hopefully umphreys will get a late night. happy to see darkstar. hopefully the additions are good because this is the worst lineup ive ever seen for a fest period. especially one that charges over 200 bucks. oh well....LANGERADO!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed. Kanye West?! MIA? Ugh....I think I might say fuck it to Roo and hit up Langerado but it doesnt seem too likely considering I will be in school during Langerado. They better have some SICK additions in store. Like Mars Volta or some money hip hop acts like Ghostface or MF Doom
This will be the first year after 3 that I am not going to roo, I am moving to san francisco less than a month afterward, so money and missing work were already a huge issue, a really stellar lineup with some suprises could have swayed me, but there are no bands I really like that I haven't already seen a few times, so i am not heartbroken about missing anything, but I am sure it will be a ridiculously fun time as always. My mind is blown and confused with the Kanye thing, but I have only heard his hits, so I can't really judge. There is some great bluegrass to be had though.

does anyone remember any of the acts that were added after the initial line-up last year? I wasn't paying attention to Roo then so I'm curious whether they're all smaller acts or some kinda big ones or what...
I really think, unfortunaly, giving us all the clue they did on radio roo in a sense damaged their line-up. Cause for most of us we were pulling our favorite bands out of our asses and tying them into the clues because we desperetly have been wanting to see them. So we got our hopes up, we got our hope WAY UP. So far in the clouds that a lot of us say we aren't going. Well let me bring this to the table and this being only my second time at Roo, what is Roo about any way? Yeah it's about the music don't get me wrong but it's also about walking 20 mins to the gate every day and the fun you have with your friends, it's a camping out and going to bed at crazy hours, it's about not taking showers and being ok with it. It's about waiting in line for hours to get on the farm, the mushroom fountain. It's about being on shakedown. It's about more than music, it's comedy, movies, art and most importantly is about being around people who want to to the same thing as you...have a good time. In a sense I am almost ashamed that I bitched at the line-up because I forgot how much all of these other things factored into my awesome time at roo. And while I really don't like Metallica and Kanye many people were hesitant about the Police and they put on a decent show. Bonnaroo is about not being closed minded it's about peace along with everything else I said. I think many of us have lost the Roo spirit.
I think Against Me's set will be the most interesting. They can't play a set of hard punk songs, because moshing in the middle of the day in a tent makes no sense (or perhaps they'll be on the Which Stage...). But if they just run through their new album, I will officially give up on them.
I can only hope they'll do a lot of their acoustic songs. I would die happy.
i agree.... there is no way to justify the price increase with the lineup as it is. although i guess this is what happens when you book one of the most commercially motivated bands in history. either superfly has majorly failed/ totally sold out the roo vibe, or there is something BIG missing from this list.
I was hoping I'd come back, but I had 3 reasons I would come back: 1) Tom Petty returns (free ticket) 2) Led Zeppelin 3) Stone Temple Pilots only show in the Southeast.
With none of those 3 I'll pass. I'm hoping Metallica will do Summer Sanitarium
I am very happy i been waiting to see MMJ for a long time and i always wanted to see jack johnson but i dont think he really will be headlining maybe a saturday before a major act or friday... But alot of good bands Sigur Ross is someone i always was interested in and never thought i would see live.. Other then that lets just be happy we got what we got cause im sure more is coming are way.. Also Brian flippin Posehn and zach galifianakis those two are hilarious. deff must see comedy acts

wow! do Bonnaroo fans really feel they are that much better than any other festival?! Ever since the "rumors" have started flowing in this year, all i have heard is how you wanted pearl jam, and lz, and the verve, and oasis, and daft punk, and god himself to do a superjam with zeus ft. buddah on the drums. You say you want an eclectic lineup and your promoters have listened to it and then you complain about it?!?!?!LZ will not be there. period. do the math, look at the prices for there one show alone. look at theprices you pay. look at all the other bands that you are getting. NO LED ZEPPELIN! If jack johnson is big enough to headline Coacehlla trust me its big enough for bonnaroo. in the midst of all your "rumors" i think your heads got way too far in the clouds. no concer t promoter could afford what you all have requested. hell you guys were shooting down getting u2. (which is way too big of a band for little bonnaroo anyways. Probably the biggest rock band ever.) so no. I will not go to this festival. Not b/c of the lineup.props to superfly for pushing the envelope and getting some amazing bands. no. its b/c the ROO' fans are a bunch of whiney babies who are never going to be greatfull for anything. I will stick to my C3 presents events(lollapalooza, ACL, and coming soon with support from europes niggest festival promoters..vineland festival) Go charles attal!your my boy!
PEACE!
ps get over the whole metallica thing. or get rid of all the bands that dont fir your one way jam band hippie fest minds. and re-name your festival just that...Hippiefest 2008. you got your allman bros.
lol, pwnzr just like jumped into a lions den and then gave all the lions the finger and then jumped out. that was crazy, haha.
Pearl Jam, Metallica, ABB, Levon Helm, MMJ, Derek & Susan,Plant & Krauss, Sigur Ros, Willie Nelson, Phil and Friends, BB King, the Bluegrass jam (which by the way looks sick), Little Feat, Robert Randolph, Avett Bros, DBT, Sharon Jones......plus bands I don't know anything about, but have heard good things..... Mastadon, The Racontuers and the Felice Bros.......that all seems pretty badass and well balanced for me.
I don't like electronica or reggae so I'm fine with no presence of those genres, but can understand that it is a big draw to some people. Sure Kanye West, Death Cab, and Jack Johnson suck in my mind (god I hope Jack doesn't headline, but it wouldn't ruin 'Roo). No one is forcing me to listen to these guys and if someone else is into them and they are having a great time, then great......there's so much going on that I'm sure I'll like someone else who's playing at the same damn time. Either way I think its a damn fine lineup and can't wait. After last year I was up in the air about coming back to 'Roo, but theres no way I'm missing it this year.

so i'm not too keen on any of the headliners unless jack johnson is the sunday headliner, but i see him playing where the white stripes played last year. anyways, i almost decided not to go, but with Janeane Garofalo on the lineup I decided to not miss it! looks like i'll be staking out a spot for the late nights instead of catching the first 2 headliners of the weekend. oh well. i'll probably wear a metallica is not for roo shirt all weekend. one of my least favorite bands of all time and one of my favorite festivals. so sad. oh and i'll probably wait to find a ticket closer to roo as I have to wait to see the lineup additions.
excited to see:
Jack Johnson My Morning Jacket The Raconteurs Willie Nelson Death Cab For Cutie Sigur Ros Ben Folds O.A.R. Iron & Wine Gogol Bordello Robert Randolph's Revival Rilo Kiley Ozomatli Tegan & Sara !!! Ladytron Ghostland Observatory Battles Two Gallants Vampire Weekend Mason Jennings
hopefully lineup additions bring LCD Soundsystem, Justice, Hot Chip, Dave Matthews in any form, and some more electronica acts!
