Wow this thread is 5 pages long, thats really funny... I try to watch TV but i really cant stand it, its like work for me... When my girl comes home and turns the thing on i cringe... and when she shuts it off before going to bed i feel just a little smarter than i did moments before...

I'd agree with you on most occasions. But this is Lost. Now that Arrested Development is no more, it's the only show I watch religiously. That being said.....2.5 more hours.
Does anyone know where to put the code in? In case you missed the commercial, go to www.sublymonal.com, click on all the top tv until all of them turn green and it gives you the heir apparent code. This ARG stuff is very interesting.
So nothing too shocking or earthshattering from this episode. I really liked it though. Everyone is loosing faith, except Locke and Ecko, who are finding it anew. I friggin knew Libby wasn't "dead" yet. I wonder if Hurley will try and figure that sh!t out, since she whispered Michael's name. I'm guessing yes. Next week is gonna kick ass, by the looks of things. They still leave you confused as to whether the "button" really needs to be pushed or not. Ecko sure believes in it. But the video told them that it's just an experiment. Oh Lost, you've done it again.
I'm pretty sure that they answered the question of the button. From what I understand from the video that they watched at the pearl station they dont need to. It's basically a psychology type experiment to see how people work together when they think that they have a very important duty ( in this case putting the numbers into the computer every 108 min ). I may be wrong but it's just my understanding that that question has been answerd

This is true, BUT....Mr. Ecko's inkilings have all been right, up until now. And he REALLY feels like pushing the button is the most important job on the island. It kinda plays into the whole thing with Henry, when Locke was trapped under the metal door, a few episodes back. Henry told Locke that he didn't push the button, and nothing happened. Was he lying? Cause it seems to me that I'd believe Ecko before Henry. And if Ecko says that pushing the button is important, I'm pushin the button, despite what the video says. The video could be a part of a larger experiment yet, we just don't know how big this experiment could be.

Yeah, I'm definitely expecting the button to have some significance now that the writers put so much effort into saying "Oh, the button doesn't do anything. Really, it doesn't". It's certainly clear the observers in Pearl Station are being observed as well.
When this show is at its best it gets me wondering "have the writers really had this planned out all along?", and the scene with the Nigerian plane that echoed (ha!) the Boone death scene and really tied Locke and Eko's "faith" together felt really carefully planned out over the course of two seasons.
Then they do stuff like have it randomly be nighttime when Michael stumbles bleeding out of the hatch, when all of the scenes before and after it were in the daytime (the "give us the guns, Sawyer" from last ep, Sawyer and Kate getting the guns & telling Hurley, etc.).
So tantalizing and yet sometimes so frustrating. Lost, ye are a fickle woman.
Mr. Eko officially owns this show now. He replaced his Jesus stick with an axe.

Have not really read the posts since I have not seem the episode so sorry if this is already mentioned... when you get the code notice that your cursor will turn into a hand below the line "sblymonal message unlocked" Click this hidden link and you are taken to another page. I'd give you the link but I think it's more fun to do it yourself. It's actually a page you may have already been to.
TV only makes you stupid if you watch stupid things.
This just seemed like a loose end episode, before everything comes crashing down in the finale. What's Michael gonna say about the boat. Kinda fucks up his plans now, doesn't it. Him and Walt can't leave by themselves. Gotta love Sayid. That interrogating Iraqi b@stard knows his people. Can't wait until next week. But then WTF am I gonna do all summer? Oh. That's right. BONNAROOOOO!!!!
holy crap... I have never ever said this before, so this is a biggie, I think this is the best episode of Lost I have ever seen. I love the dynamics the whole thing set up... amazing.
Dan - do you think in some wierd twisted way, that boat is part of Michael's plan? I mean isn't that what he said to Miss Clue before he left, that if he's gonna do this he's gonna need a/the boat. Kinda making me wonder...
Yeah, Sayid is killer, and I gotta feel for Michael though, the position he's in... that's really rough. I think he was a little naive though, seeing as how interested they are in Walt, believing that they will actually let him go if he does what they say.
And again Kate really needs to say something about how the whole dirty, simple, thing is a disguise, and hopefully in front of Michael, so he might realize what Walt meant when he said they're not who they're pretending, and maybe get a clue that he is in over his head.
Wow, definately can't wait for the TWO HOURS next week!

I think Michael's plan was to get Walt and leave, just with Walt. He said he's gonna need "the boat." The only boat he knows to exist(the one that they took Walt on). I don't think he anticipated The Others giving him another boat and at THAT time. Now how's he gonna explain to everyone? I think Michael's whole story is gonna have to come out, because Jack is privied to his wayward intentions, and isn't gonna trust him. They really left it open though. It looks like alot of crazy sh!t is gonna go down in the final 2 hours. I'm almost more interested in the story with "the button" now, than with Walt. But it looks like there's gonna be a little bit of everything next week. I really liked how they didn't do a flashback off the island. Michael's was just what happened in the last few days. I hope we get more episodes like this in the future.
actually what i meant by the boat was more of... he needed them to bring that boat over to somehow distract the rest of the losties, and make them think they were rescued or something... but i don't know i'm definately just pulling this out of my ass here
i just can't buy that someone with a working boat just happens to find the island... cause if an outsider's boat does find them, and it does not lead to their rescue (which it can't or the show would be over), then we're just getting into cheesy gilligan-never-getting-of-the-island territory, ya know?

Sayid is the man. I really feel the cast has gotten a bit large and people drift to the background for too long. When Charlie walked up to Claire I couldn't remember if they were buddies or estranged.
Kind of weird how Eko's speech to Michael was a complete ripoff of Locke's Season 1 persona (I can say mysterious things that make it look like I know way more than I do/could). Cool speech though. I'm not sure what is up with that boat. Is that the same Other-boat? It didn't seem like it to me.
Kate/Jack not sharing fake beard info=moronic. Michael=waaaaay too trusting of the evil people. And really bad at being inconspicuous with his conniving scheme.
It is amazing that Sawyer has become way more sympathetic than Jack and that Jack is pretty clearly the bigger a-hole of the two at this point. "Why are you telling me this?"
Next week should be really good. They are definitely planning a big holy sh1t moment for the end and so far are doing a reallly good job of keeping it from being spoiled. Next week's flashbacks should be really cool and interesting too. I won't spoil it for people who don't want to know, but it should be way more interesting than the repetitive Jack-back we got with the Season 1 finale.

Blasphemy! How dare you call the love of my tv-life an a-hole?! You're lucky I don't smite you!
Is that the same Other-boat? It didn't seem like it to me.
Nah. That boat wasn't a sailboat, it was motorized if I remember correctly. I'm just guessing, but I think we'll come to find out that there's no one on the boat, and only Michael will know why it's there. Which will lead to some awkward moments.
Oh, and just for the record....Jack's a pansy. If this were survivor, I'd vote his @ss off the island, as pretty as that @ss might be. He's become the least likeable character now(besides Michael). Sorry Taraanne.

That's a giant to you!
Oh, and it's sooo not the pretty thing, it's the heart, the HEART I tell you! He's so sensitive and emotional and caring and manly yet insecure and mmm the pretty butt just adds to that package.
;D
seriously if it were about looks alone, charlie would be way more my type... he's goofy funny cute, which i like, only he'd need to be taller...

Season Finale tonight!!! ;D ;D
so I wanted to make a few comments about last weeks show before tonights. There were a lot of changes in the attitudes of the characters in the episode. Sawyer softened up to Jack telling him he was the closing thing he had to a friend. Charlie finally kicked the heroin habit for good. I think this is important, also that Locke saw him throw it in the sea. Locke also has had a major change now that he has lost faith in the hatch and what it means. You now have Ecko taking Lockes place in the hatch. We have the obvious changes in Micheal. I think the changes in the attitudes of these characters will shape the next season of the show. I think Locke is tempted to find the truth to the others after being told he was one of the good ones and they were coming for him.
Another interesting part was when Ecko told Micheal the story of when he was a priest and the small boy wanted to know of he would go to hell for beating his dog to death. He made a point that the boy was not worried about being sorry, only scared that the dog would be waiting for him. Micheal seems to be chasing Walt for more then one reason. Sure he wants to get his son but I think more has to do with the fact that Micheal wants to prove something to himself. This is probably frowned upon by the others. I really think the show is about the human spirit and essentially what makes someone "good" or "evil".
Sucks that I'm not going to be able to watch it tonight. Gotta work at 10pm and just seeing half of the episode would be enough to make me go crazy. Thank god for torrents though.

Amazing how Desmond, after being on one episode in 2 seasons, suddenly becomes THE central character.
Incredible writers -- and fans of this writing should read Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk (Damon Lindleof writes this series). It's bi-monthly, only 2 issues are out so far. Support your local comic store, people.

That was a killer episode. I can't beleive they really needed to hit the button. Boy did they really need to hit that button. And that strange white light and noise that happened when they didn't, before desmond blew the hatch. Was that the world ending? It looked crazy!!!! And how about why the plane crashed, are you kidding, the plane got sucked in by the electromagnetic field not being dispursed, AWESOME! Can't wait till next season.
So the guy in the hatch with desomnd was the US army guy who had Syiad interegate the prisoners....yet another meet in a past life deal. I think that the island is known to many in the outside world and next season we will hear about this. Desmonds women is clearly searching for him and I think her dad has something to do with the island.
Good news, they will air 7 episodes in a row, take a break and then return in Feb to play the remaining episodes. None of the 1 new, 2 old, 1 new, 1 old, randomness.
keep your eyes open for a bunch of letters that are grey throught the site. They spell something useful. These websites are one huge game. In addition to the phone number you must call to get the password for accessing somethings on www.thehansofoundation.org.
I am working on the code and login scripts from www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/. I think I can run these on port 22 of the site and get access to some restricted pages...crazy stuff, if I get in all let you all know! This should keep me busy till the next season.
I was pretty impressed by the vast majority of the finale.
-Thinking back I really think Season 2 was quite good. There were some lulls in the action, but I think they did a remarkable job of keeping things interesting, mysterious and intriguing. I still can not tell if they really have a long term plan for this, but it mostly seems like they do.
-No way Eko and Locke are dead. Right?
-I do not get Charlie at all. Now Claire likes him? That seemed forced and random. Is he supposed to be evil? I'm starting to think the show would have been better off if Charlie died when Ethan hung him from a tree. It would have been truly shocking and he has contributed little since.
-Shouldn't people be a bit more curious about the whole "sky turned blinding white, Locke and Eko should be dead, hatch full of food, supplies etc. destroyed" situation.
-Locke has turned into a full blown idiot. Did he forget about the smoke monster he stared down? Why didn't Desmond ever say "How about we go ahead and push the button, go over this new information, and maybe don't push it later today?"
-The Henry Gale/Others stuff was just awesome. Creepy and crazy. The dart scene was really frightening. I loved the tubes full of notebooks going nowhere. The recent twists remind me more of Kafka than anything else. My favorite part (although I wouldn't be surprised if it never gets followed up on): The big foot and Sayid's line about it.
-This episode really pushed my TV and sound system to the max. Easily the best 5.1 sound I've ever heard on a TV show. Quite an amazing sound mix even by movie standards, really. The "Charlie deaf from the explosion" bit worked perfectly, the white-flash-apocalypse was other-worldly, and I particularly liked the music during the frantic and disturbing invisible dart gun scene. The sound and music on this show has always been an A+, first-rate achievement, and this episode might be the best they've done so far.
It actually goes back a long time and there are some crazy people on there. You need to be aware of spoilers on that site, but they should be clearly marked, and the only spoilers that really exist at this point are a few things that are known about who has a contract for next year and who doesn't.
