well at least im not gonna have to worry about misiing the pistons in the finals at roo. i cant believe how bad they are playing. they played defense like they used to for the last minute. but it was too little too late. they need to play that smothering d all the time. and hits some damn shots. im starting to think hes mister missed shot. what a disapointment. i hope flip is outta there after this year. hes done a horrible job. wade was on the bench half of the game. the pistons hav just sucked it up in the playoffs. i still love them but they need to quit talking sh.it and play. maybe its the injuries.

Whoa whoa whoa, what makes you think Flip did a horrible job this year? I think he took the team from Brown and made it better if anything! He was coach of the month like 4 times this year. I think they need to get back in to their traditional "swing" (i.e. hitting shots, using the 3-ball wisely, and getting clutch players in to the game faster) they just need to play better. Wade is no match for the Pistons, as proven last year.
well i agree that they appeared better throughout the season. but they have sucked it up in the playoffs. he hasnt made a single change. they just keep going out and playing exactly the same way. the only time they play the defense they were playing for the last two years is in the final minutes when its close. they used to play that smothtering d all the time. and a big part of the pistons problems s that they are not resting anyone. the pistons have a hell of a bench and if they had been worked into the system throghout the season it would have been a huge help in the playoffs. this team has been together and playing well for years. the only difference this year is flip.
of course it could be cuz darko is gone

Maybe you haven't been watching the past few years, but Detroit has gone through these types of stretches before. Remember the Indiana series two years ago? Detroit looked waaay worse than they have so far this year.
I wouldn't mind if they gave the starters a little bit more rest too, but I don't know where your getting that they have a hell of a bench. It was widely documented that their bench was pretty much their one weakness coming into the playoffs. Dyess is a great sub, but after that it gets shaky.
I just can't stand when fans jump ship on a team or coach after a couple bad games. Detroit won 10 more games than they ever did with Brown and have done just as well in the playoffs to this point.
ya but going to game seven against cleveland (not very good despite lebrons greatness) and losing game one at home to miami ya gotta say something aint right. mcdyess is the man. lindsay hunter can tear it up. delk has been coming in and giving quality minutes. the bench is weak because they werent worked into the system. if they had been worked into the system detroit might not be this beat up and run down. ive heard alot of people bitiching about flip. even barkley and kenny smith have chatted about what a horrible jobhe is dong in the playoffs. with a team like the pistons pre assembled for you its not hard to look good during the regular sason. there is absolutly no excuse for them to have not swept the cavs.
on a side not rasheed should quit running his mouth. when they dominate its great and funny. but tis coming iff as pathetic crys for attention. dont get me wrong i love my pistons. ill love them wether the win the finals or dont even make the playoffs. i know if lambeer was there it would be different. they would be playing bad boys basketball instead of depending on sheed hitting threes and rip and chauncy to hit 50 percent so they can win
IMO by the way GO PISTONS!!!!!!!!! BEAT THE HEAT!

Last year they lost game 2 at home to Milwaukee, so losing one at home to the Heat really isn't that bad.
Yes, going to 7 against Cleveland hurt, but to say they had no excuse for not sweeping them is a ridiculous opinion to have. The team did win 50 games after all, and beat Detroit by 13 earlier in the season.
Hunter can tear it up?? What alternate universe are you living in? The dude hasn't shot over 37% since he's come back to Detroit. He's a good defender, that's about it. Delk is decent. Helluva bench...give me a break.
As far as working the bench into the system, if you look at the numbers, the starters didn't play any more minutes this year than they did last year so that argument is completely fabricated.
At least I can agree with your last point. I can't stand when Sheed and the rest of them whine to the refs.
Why am I not surprised that you're a negative, whiny bitch when it comes to sports too?
i dont really see how its negative. its just a discussion man. there is not a whole lot of positive thigns to say about the pistons last 6 games. i could come in and say i love em theyre great and lets go. but the reality is that there are some issues. it amazes me how many people are willing to stick theor head in the sand just because they like something. are the pistons perfect?? certainly not. is roo perfect? definetly not. i would say that being negative would be to come in and say detroit sux or i hate them. im not doing that at all.
amd just because the bench is playing the same amount throughout the season doesent mean the coach has worked the bench into the program. it just means that the pistons didnt have a lot of close games that they had to keep starters in for. they certainly have not contributed in the playoffs like the bench has in years past.
why am i not surprised that you still try to make every opinion someone states that dosent gel with your opinion into them being a whiney bitch. it never ceases to amaze me how how much whining and bitching some people do about whining and bitching. (or that they classify every discussion about something that isnt 100 percent perfect as negative hating and whining)
Post by Hipster Doofus on May 25, 2006 16:51:21 GMT -5
Nobody's saying the Pistons are perfect, actually my point is just the opposite. They're not perfect. This group has gone through crappy stretches like this several times before (until this regular season - under Flip - that is), but have fought through the adversity. I'm not guaranteeing they'll do it again, but to give up on them already shows a lack of character.
well i definetly dont think those are negative. just my opinion f the situation stated in a joking manner. i thoguht it would be pretty obvious how i meant those things. i forgot about some of the silly sensative sallys round here always misinterpreting things around here.
i also thought i made it clear that i would never give up on the pistons. sh.it man the lions are my favorite team. and i even said that id be one of the pistons biggest fans even if they werent making the playoffs

by the way are you excited about the psitons recent play? i dont know how any one can say that me calling the pistons playoff performance a dissapointment is negative whining. its just the way things are. are you excited they have been losing? i hate when fanboys think something is so great and if you make any comments otherwise your a whiny bitch.
Post by Hipster Doofus on May 25, 2006 17:50:03 GMT -5
Those aren't negative? Ha! How come you're only funny when you aren't trying to be?
Here are some interesting parallels between this year and the championship year of 03/04
Round 1
this year
Detroit beats Milwaukee 4-1, losing one game on the road.
03/04
Detroit beats Milwaukee 4-1, losing one game at home (gasp)
Round 2
this year
Detroit beats a 50 win Cleveland team 4-3 by winning the first two, losing 3 straight, then finishing them off by winning two more.
03/04
Detroit beats a 47 win New Jersey team 4-3. Detroit won the first two, then lost 3 in a row (two of them by scores of 82-64 and 94-79), then finished them off by winning the last two.
Round 3
this year
Detroit loses the first game of the series.
03/04
Detroit loses the first game of the series.
Am I excited about how the playoffs have gone so far? No. But I know the history of this team enough to not give up on them well at least im not gonna have to worry about misiing the pistons in the finals at roo. or talk shit about players who have come through consistently in the past im starting to think hes mister missed shot.
I wonder what you were saying about the team at this point of the season in 04?
i dont see how calling someone who is shooting 30 percent mister missed shot or a dispointment is being a whiny bitch. it is disappointing. he is missing shots. i thought it was clear that im a huge fan and that i am not seriously hating on chauncy or the pistons. just bustin their balls for sucking it up out there. the pistons didnt lose 3 in a row all season. they didnt lose 3 in a row last playoffs. (as far as i remember. not gonna check) they certainly didnt lose any game 1 at home in the conference finals coming off a dissapointing performanc in the previous 5 games. i guess we should just agree to disagree on our thoughts about the pistons. but i do have to say your completely wrong for whining like a bitch(to use your words) about how you feel about my opinions. i think they are valid points and like i have said if ya watch or follow any of the programs that deal with the pistons or the nba you would know that lots of people are blaming flip and and talking about how dissapointing the pistons have been in the playoffs. its not just me coming out of nowhere to be negative or hateful.
1 hr to game time. hopefully they will win 87 to 73 and we can say what a great game and be a happy group of sheep all agreeing with eachother again
i didnt think it would be that hard to tell that i was joking. its obvious im a huge fan as ive been posting in here saying that. i do truly think flip has done a poor job though. but im not hating on the pistons, theyve been my favorite team always. they always will be. regardless of performance. .as i said just busting balls for playing shi.tty. you should lighten up a bit. quit taking everything so seriously.
If the Pistons don't pull their heads out of their asses offensively there's no guarantee what's going to happen on Sunday.
considering Flip's playoff history. Now I'm not trying to say the T-Wolves failures were his fault, but they did enter the playoffs with great records all the time only to get knocked out of the playoffs. Going up against the then star-studded west didn't help though.
They need to start swinging the ball around....too much one on one and pick and roll. They're at their best when they're making the extra pass. Shockingly, Chauncey looks lost out there, and that might be the base of all their problems.
damn dude.. why all the negativity. i hate when people say they have their heds up their asses when they hit a little slump. quit wwhining and bitching about theyre offensive play and talk about how great tthey are. and whats up with the flip bashing? sounds an awful lot like some other posts ive read. ;D
and how bout that chauncy bashing!! calling him lost. if chauncy was lost out there i would be dissapointed
come on man your just trying to argue for the sake of arguing

AGAIN, it's how you express your opinions. I expressed mine by what I thought the problem was and how they should address it. You express yours by saying they won't make the finals, and by taking a cheap shot at the players. And in case you can't read I specifically said it isn't necessarily Flip's fault, I was just pointing out facts.

I know you're a fan, you're a fan that takes cheap shots at their team when they're down. That's my whole point here.
they are not cheap shots!!! they were joking comments about the reality of the situation. i love the pistons. and in case you cant read ive said that many times. it seems like weve had enough conversations that i shouldnt have to still be explaing what im serious about and whats in kidding. oh well im done with this. i gotta grab another beer and enjoy this game.
go chauncey!!!!!! find your way !!!!!! GO PISTONS!!!!
byt the way they wont make the finals playing like they have. and again its obvious that chauncy has been missing shot after shot. including big shots. it was simply a joke about his nickname. chill it out a bit bro we are all free to express our opinions in whatever way we wish to.
i enjoyed the conversation back and forth about the pistons situation. just not sure why the whole whiny bitch stuff had to be brought up. seems kinda unneccesary

It was negative, whiny bitch and I said it because IMO that's what you were being. We're all entitled to our opinions, right?
Sure I've probably gone overboard, but Radiohead and the Pistons are two of the biggest passions in my life. And I always end up a little too defensive of my passions.
well would saying that they have their heads up there asses offensivley a cheap shot?
its jsut the way you express your opinons. im not gonna look at the substance at all man. its all abotu the way you say it. any jokes about the situation are just kicking them wile theyre down

No, they did have their heads up their asses. If you would have simply said Chauncey isn't hitting shit or something like that I wouldn't have batted an eye.
