I think thier reign of dominance, over the Eastern Conferance is finally over. Pistons will win the next one. Heat the following. No Pistons and Spurs makes this bird sing
I could care less about the loser Sixers. I'm used to them sucking. I just don't like the Pistons, or Pacers for that matter. In the west, the Spurs, Kings, and Jazz feel my ire. These feelings are old and they run deep.

Man, he is moving better than he has in years. Personally, I think Miami's success begins and ends with Shaq. By no means am I trying to take anything away from Wade who has been absolutely great, but without Shaq playing dominant basketball the Heat don't win.
That's why Detroit HAS to start going to the hole to try and draw fouls on Shaq. Getting him out of the game should be priority #1. I'd also switch up how they're defending the Heat. Instead of double-teaming Wade and going man to man on Shaq I'd do the opposite. Right now they can go down to Shaq and get a bucket whenever they feel like it. With Wade, he's already scoring at will against the double teams, so why not just guard him with one guy but play off him forcing him to take jumpers. If he continues to make them, so be it....I'd much rather live with that than see him get layups and take 15 foul shots a game.
All that said, I really don't think their biggest problems have been on the defensive side. You hear guys like Ben Wallace talking about how they're spending too much time in practice on offense (I'm really getting sick of the complaining to ref's and media types - that's a losers way out), well it looks like they need to spend even more! Besides a few X's and O's it's not like you can forget how to play defense....they shouldn't need to be reminded of it....just hustle your ass off guys!
well suprise surprise i disagree. shaq is playing great ball but wade is the one out there winning games. the guys shooting 70 percent against the pistons. and nearly all of the pistons problems are defense related. the pistons used to beat other teams up on defense so bad it would affect their offense. they would always get their sparks on great d. teams were lucky to hit 80. now the pistons are lucky to keep it below 90 or 100. the fact that they cant hit any shots hurts too. but i think that comes down to them being tired and beat up. and thats a result of flip not getting the bench into the game. i know thery play the minutes but they dont flow in the system like they used to. but in the end it all comes down to defense.
and if you put pat riley coaching the pistons and flip in miami this would be reversed. the pistons would be up.
and ill be damned if hunter didnt come off the bench and ignite a spark again. hes playing better then 4 out of the 5 starters
i do agree they should quit whinig about the refs and even about flip. nows not the time to be questionong your caching. the team has fallen apart. they havent lost talen they lost the cohesive unit thats a result of great coaching. they look like the biggest crybabies in the league and thats the most anti detroit image i have ever seen prtrayed by a pistons team. except maybe when that dookie crybaby grant hill was there. but i hated him form college. i loved these pistons and they are dissapointing in their play and in their attitude. if they keep on whining like this they chould move across the bridge and play in canada. ;D

No doubt Wade has been winning games....there's absolutely nothing saying he hasn't, I just think they'd be better off making him shoot, that's all. He really is streaky - I could see his shooting percentage do a 180 and drop to the 30's. Yes I'm an eternal optimist, but this does happen to him, he's still young, he could fuck up.
But you know what helps, don't you? That guys are afraid to help on him because of leaving Shaq alone. That's a big reason why that help-side D from the Wallace's hasn't really been there. And that's really the catalyst for their defense.
I hate Hill too! I have to say that I truly hated Rasheed before he came to Detroit too....when it happened I was pissed. I just always thought he was a bitch, especially from this one game in college against someone like Wake Forest, someone good, where he sprained his ankle and literally cried for a minute....loud....then he comes back in the game in 2 minutes later and the announcers are saying how tough he is. Tough my ass! He cried like his leg was broke in half, but he really wasn't injured at all! That can happen from just being afraid that it is broken, but that cracked me up (keep in mind I was still incredibly salty from the 93 loss)

I hate to say it but Miami is just playing better. There is a lot of talk of shaq and wade but in my opinion additions of payton and mourning make a huge difference. They have a much better supporting cast this year. I think the Pistons will win tonight but to take 3 in row is almost impossible. Football is really my sport anyway hopefully the Lie-downs oops I mean loins will be good this year. Im holding my breath.

Well, they were able to get Shaq into foul trouble early, which led to 5 blocks in the first half as Detroit didn't have to worry about Mourning as much as the big man.
They decided to sit back in a zone to force Wade to shoot jumpers, so I was close on that one. He still shot very well at 55%, but he wasn't able to take over the game.
All in all, a very good win. Especially considering their three best scorers Hamilton, Billups, and Wallace shot a combined 13-44! Luckily Tay had a monster game.
Oh yeah, Hunter shot 1-6, but he did have 3 steals
finally some d!!!!! that was a great game for the pistons. thank god for prince. he tore it up. hunter was at it agian and wallace was all over the court. its about time they kept miami under 80. if they can keep them under 90 on friday i think they will win it and then game 7 is a no brainer. man i hope they pull this game out on friday!!

Only 9 turnovers on offense really helps the defense. They've been up around 17 for most of the series, after averaging a league best 11 or so during the regular season.
edit: that's absolutely wrong. I was thinking about the Cavs series...the turnovers for this series have been just slightly above their average.
what is up with sheeds free throws??? i think hes shooting a better percentage from 3 point land in the playoffs then he is fromt the stripe. thats inexcusable. i cant wait for tommorow night! should be a great one. i hope someone brings it besides tayshaun. im hoping wallace busts iout the fro. but ti dosent seem to be the guranteed win that it used to. 1 road win and we have got this one wrapped up. although i dont really seeing us being able to generate as many points as dallas or phoenix. better get that defense rockin and rollin a little more. last game was a good step in that direction
and so it ends. oh well atleast we had a hell of a regular season even if the playoffs were a completely and utterly dissapointing faliure. thats vintage flip for ya. not blaming him completley but i do hope he is outta there. the players have to go out and play the d and make the shots but flip just isnt a big game coach. hes been a choker in the playoffs for years. looks like ill be rooting for a western team for the first time in a long time. i dont even care who makes it. i just want miami to get spanked.

Enjoy it man, Miami's playing great! I'm not sure who I'll be rooting for yet, probably Dallas (I do like josh howard, devin harris, and I respect Stackhouse. ), but I think it's going to be a graet series. I'll try to force myself to watch it.
ya i will watch it. well i wont be watching anygames at roo. i dont care enough to do that if the pistons arent in it. but ill catch all of the other games. it should be a good series actually. i think dallas can get it done. i bet it will go 7 games.
