shoosh said this .....The inspectors were removed from Iraq because of safety issues our presence caused-see shock and awe.
that is flat out wrong...u need a history lesson but that is cool..
Jason no doubt there is a concern on our part to make sure the oil flow is not interupted in the region this is true. However I don't see people in this country taking bikes and turning off the air-conditoners.....plus everybody had a huge fit when cash prices went up. So until we get another source of fuel we need to keep oil in our national interest......I pray for your brother and hope he was returned safe.
shoosh if it was up to u we would have no military b/c I guess to u nothing is worth fighting for. I'm sure u blame Bush for not stopping 9/11 and now u call him and cheney evil for taking steps to fight terror and dictators. Ohh now we are evil b/c we GIVE research food hey if your hungry does it really matter. I don't see Iraq or iran giving research food. ..like I said earlier I can't wait until bush is out of office and all this stupid talk about them being evil will then have to apply to the new goverment b/c we know they won't be running away from this issue so they must be evil as well
geneva conventions don't apply to people who don't wear uniforms and attack innoncent people. Why don't slamm the terrorists b/c they don't follow the rules of war which the geneva convention outlines..instead u blame the US for not following the rules which are obviosly outdated and don't apply to people who don't follow rule of law....
your right shoosh b/c we lost 3,000 people and this war is not popular in the media we should leave.......with that logic we would have left wwII on day one....we llost way more than that on D-day..so I guess WW II wasn't worth fighting for.......shoosh if u have a better plan feel free to lay it out but all I hear from u and the media is bush did this wrong and bush did that I never hear a plan.......Sorry dude the president is not evil, the US is not evil and we are by far and away not trying to be imperialists if this was true ask Germany!!!! Did we take over ther country and drain all it's resources and leave ..bo we didn't so where your getting this is plain made up b.s.....The world can view us however they want but believe when the crap hits the fan they will call us right away just like they always have and then OUR Evil society and president whoever that will be can GET OIL and LAND........
war is never pretty and never good but sometimes talk doesn't get it done

First of all your logic of terrorists dont follow human rights laws so why should we is so so so so so so flawed. I mean you do acknowledge that they are bad and what they do is bad right? So you dont want to follow suit and commit terrorist acts do you? I mean with that logic you sound like an eye for an eye type dude and thats just plain dumb.
Secondly you cant claim that the war has nothing to do with oil and then as soon as an example is shown say Well we all need oil and I dont see anyone else stopping. I mean which is it? Is the war not for oil, or is the war for oil but thats OK because we need it?
Lastly we fought and won WWII in less time then we have now spent clusterfu@king Iraq. And that was done without a Military Industrial Complex which the current administration is trying like hell to create. Think about that. We fought and won WWII in less time then we have spent in Iraq. FDR said it would be treason for anyone to profit from war while we had to make sacrifice. TREASON Who has made and how many millions have been made off of this war? With zero oversight. Where has all the money gone?
Post by chicagorooer on Jan 12, 2007 16:23:07 GMT -5
the reson we won WWII so fast is b/c we blew the crap out of everything in our way and settle it out later. imagine if we did that now......We have to fight a war with our hands behind our back......can't go into a mosque b/c they may get made...this type of thinking wasn't around during wwII and it shoundln't be around now
As far as the geneva conventions I am just saying they are outdated b/c when the rules were written people didn't hide among innocent people and blow themselves up and then claim there are citizens then when caught want full rights that a uniformed army would have. If making a person stay awake or throwing cold water on them is torture PLease call the cops b/c my older brother did worst stuff then that....stop giving aid and comfort to the enemy another thing they didn't do in wwII...you would be jailed but today your on all the talk shows saying how we should be nice to the terrorist and Bush is evil....nobody said that to FDR
jason maybe u need to learn how to read b/c I never said we didn;t have oil interest in the region but what I did say we didn't go to war soley for land and oil or as u say to be EVIL. There is a much bigger picture to this. Instead of blaming bush or the U.S. COME UP WITH A PLAN TO STOP TERRORISM.
My fact and research are solid. The only research u have is a picture from 20 years ago showing an oil pipeline being built....wake up b/c no matter what u say we are at war and guess what when bush is out of office we will be at war and it's only gonna get worse....so instead of being on the sidelines and complaining about what Bush has done wrong and marginalizing yourself b/c it's obvious no matter what Bush had done would have mad u mad
The million dollar question is if u were bush what would u have done!!!????
Talk about not reading. Ihavent even typed the word evil. And the pictures are from 5-6 years ag as in the weeks before we invaded the country. And thats besides the point.
As far as the geneva conventions I am just saying they are outdated b/c when the rules were written people didn't hide among innocent people and blow themselves up and then claim there are citizens then when caught want full rights that a uniformed army would have. If making a person stay awake or throwing cold water on them is torture PLease call the cops b/c my older brother did worst stuff then that....
YYou do realize that the US prosoquted Japanese soliders for doing this to our troops in WWII right. So its only ok for the US to implement on others?
I wanna go back to goin' rounds with dudezer. At least his arguments were somewhat informed. chicagorooer lives in a comfy little world of fallacy where bush is the lesser of all evils. go tell it on the mountain buddy. and keep making like everybody who has beef with bush is a democrat. you bring nothing in the form of thinking for yourself. it's the "liberal" media and "20 year old pictures" that are your enemy, genius. your hero is a man who has run this economy into the ground for decades to come. war is great cuz we "won" world war 2". isn't there a thread on portapotties that you can pollute ?
the un had inspections. iraq passed. the us demanded more searches. iraq passed. yet another round passed. and then they say well we want to inspect government offices and saddams personal palaces. saddam had to draw the lin somewhere and say f**k off. the us kept pushing it and pushing it when they were finding nothing. then they lied to go to war. we are making new nukes. wont abide by treaties the rest of the first world accepts. where are the inspections of the pentagon? or how about bush ranch? ill bet there is more wmd there then in iraq. i dont see how anyone can say what you have said with a straight face unless they are completely uninformed.

i almost dont even want to respond to chicagorooer. but i feel everyone has a chance to educate themselves if they learn facts as opposed to just repeating some nonsens they heard daddy say or something. and any comparison between ww2 and the war on terrorism is just insane. terrorists arent armys that will present themselves on the battlefield to be bombed. they dont have huge infrastructure to bomb. and they arent going to give in if we firestorm cities and nuke them at the cost of hundereds of thousands of innocent civilian lives like japan did when we did that to them. that will only encourage more terrorism. lets not forget that it was just over 60 years that we burned and nuked over 600,000 civilians in germany and japan.(read as women and children, the men were off at war) we killed more innocent civilians in the war then we lost american soldiers in the war. and now your saying we should bomb everyone again over our loss of 2100 civilains? in a country that had nothing to do with that had nothing at all to do with the attack. a country that in fact did nothing and was not a threat to us in anyway shape or form. . and ww2 cost over 400,000 american lives. and over 24 million lives world wide. is that what you would prefer? if we went your route millions would die and terrorisim would only be encouraged. as for a plan to stop terrorism. stop proping up the saudi royal family, and many other horrible dictatorships, to fix oil prices and make profits. they have mega connections with the bush family. we should quit telling other countries that they cant have things we have and that we give to their enemies. and although i see no way to fix it, why is israel on arab land? they didnt do anything. shouldnt it be on german land? that would make more sense. but we couldnt take german land. we wanted to install a government that we could trade with for profits. but the palestininans had nothing to offer and arent white. and how about not invading other nations "pre-emptively" on false accusations of wmd and alqueada connections that didnt exist? i think those would be a good start to stopping terrorism. how about we stop feeding enough grain to feed 800 million people to cattle so we can have steak and burgers. for every one person fed by a cow we could have fed 54 with the grain it took to feed that cow. grain dosent need to be refrigerated. keeps longer. is easier to transport. it just seems so common sense. people are dying. and as for our water shortages it takes alot more water to raise farm animals then it does to grow crops. i think feeding people would help stop terrorism. along with education and basic 30 cent medicines and vaccines. how can we live with ourselves when children are starving and dying of simply treated diseases all over the world and we could feed, educate, and provide basic, inexpensive, life saving medical care to them if we just gave up some luxuries. and in the end wed be healthier and live longer. seems like a pretty easy thing to do to save the lives of starving children. and it has the bonus of us all being healthier. no more 250 pound 12 year olds with acquired diabetes.

I feel we went to war not for oil but to stratgically set ourself up for the real war and real problem Iran.......Iraq is a great location for us b/c we can attack Iran from Iraq and afganistan. this is the real reason why we are in iraq...we could care less about the people we know that.
somewhere between 50 and 60 thousand civilian deaths for that??? sounds pretty fuc.king evil to me. but please go on telling us how its not evil and how great bush's foreign policy is. tell us what a wonderful person he is for killing 5o some thousand civilians because "its a great location for us". not to mention the troops that have been killed. and the increased threat of terrorism.
and to say that its a great move for those reasons is beyond uninformed. its some of the most ignorant stuff ive ever heard. iran has benefited greatly from this. its not hurting them. and when we leave iran will control iraq. well actually it seems they already do. we have done iran a great favor.
and these problems will be here when bush is gone because he created the problems and refuses to resolve them because it would mean admiting wrongs and defeat. bush is gonna pull out some troops before elections to look good. but he will leave what the republicans will no doubt call "the cut and run" to the dems. so he can blame defeat on them. you know another problem bush is going to leave us with? bin laden. and alqueda in iraq. something that didnt exist before this brilliant war of his. thats why we are stuck there for a while. now that bush gave alqueda another place to operate we will be stuck there. now it is a part of the war on terror. although it certainly wasnt before 2003. no one will be able to fix bushs f**k ups overnight. of course they have to deal with the problems left by bush. in our country our next president has to live up to the commitments and policies of the previous one no matter how retarded they may be. until, over time, the damage can start to be undone.

dudewhereismyroo said this ::we should quit telling other countries that they cant have things we have and that we give to their enemies. ARE you kidding me get real...sorry bro I have no problem keeping dangerous weapons out of my enemies hands...I guess JFK was stupis b/c he didn't let castro and the soviets put nukes 90 miles from miami....
You proved my point DUDE b/c all I was saying is we are in IRAQ for a lot more reasons than oil and land and to be evil (a gross simplification of the issue) You have brought up at least 60 years worth of reasons why we are there. Going from wwII to present day lots of issues not just oil and land.
DUDE also said this think feeding people would help stop terrorism. along with education and basic 30 cent medicines and vaccines. how can we live with ourselves when children are starving and dying of simply treated diseases all over the world and we could feed, educate, and provide basic, inexpensive, life saving medical care to them if we just gave up some luxuries. and in the end wed be healthier and live longer.
oh really this will stop them huh?? Just that easy....see it's thinking like this that gets your but killed. They hate us, they hate freedom...they blew up the pentagon and the trade centers (I bet you had a smile that day)) i know when I saw the towers fall the 1st thing I said is we should have fed them....how about they feed themselves instead of spending millions on weapons to kill us
The real funny thing is Clinton bombs the living hell out of the Balkins and MANY MANY MANY inncocnet civialians died...Clinton went to somalia to remove a dictator and guess what many many many civilians died.....DUDE this is not a vidoe game in war civilians die.....I never heard anybody say clinton was evil for doing this...why not?????? Clinton was so busy getting head (which I have no problem with) that he failed to do anything to help protect us.....example is (kenya bombings, worldtrade center the 1st attack, the uss cole bombings) he did nothing and yet I'm sure he is the golden boy in your eyes.
I never said I liked BUSH but I did say and I will always say the US is not evil the President is not evil and by you saying such things just puts u on the sidelines and even though u have good ideas and some solid arguments you are being marginalized by people who want a solution not point the finger. Whether u like Bush or not at least he didn't stand on the sidelines holding his dick while his citizens where being mass murdered. As I contiune to say we are not there for just for oil or to be evil........
iraq paased inspection ......WHATEVER DUDE WHATEVER.....if he passed why did the UN keep passing resolutions againd IRAQ.....the only reason we went in is b/c a resolution was passed again and the corrupt UN (your buddies) remember oil for food scandal put there interest and $$$ in front of our natational security and BUSH was not having any of that......so instead of trolling these b.s. michael moore propaganda sites grab a book learn a thing or two
iraq passed inspection...LMAO over here.....have a good safe weekend all

DUDE SAID THIS about wwII..........lets not forget that it was just over 60 years that we burned and nuked over 600,000 civilians in germany and japan.(read as women and children, the men were off at war) we killed more innocent civilians in the war then we lost american soldiers in the war.
ARE you kidding me the man were off to war... I don't even know what to say to that. So we should have been nicer huh??? maybe we should have fed them more.........yes civilians are dead not our fault....Are you saying the nazi's had a right to kill millions in europe we are to blame for the dead civilians b/c we came to the rescue to save europe from the nazi 's/.....check your history books we are beloved and I didn't hear the british or anybody in europe say we are bad b/c civilans died.....The germans are to blame they started it and we ended it.....just like this war....we are going to end it on our terms when we want......
The men were off fighting the war LMAO....once again dude you have some seriuos reading to do......hahah
Grab a book and read??? Are you kidding me? So when exactly did Iraq attack us genius? And when did they start this war?
You sound like Michael Savage just mindlessly spouting opinion with zero fact. They hate us. Man how the hell do you back that one up? You seriously believe that there just for some reason happens to be these people that spend their time hating others for their freedom? Thats just crazy man. Please show some facts here.

hey people hated the Jews, The us hated the blacks.......yes there are people in this world who just hate!! Freedom .......Iran doesn't want iraq to be democratic b/c they will lose power......just like the soviets they plotted against us everyday b/c they hated freedom......The nazi's hated freedom.....the chinese gov't hates freedom.......we are just lucky we are free......There are way to many instances where people didn't want freedom and did all they could to stop it .......ohh the revolutionary war.....get a clue jason......
sorry I don;t know michael savage I only know fred savage
hey people hated the Jews, The us hated the blacks.......yes there are people in this world who just hate!! A greater percentage of the U.S. population is incarcerated than any other single nation in this world. I guess WE must hate freedom too..
Way to go. Challenge someone's patriotism who takes time out to follow the flow of the money. I bet Dude peed his pants when the terrorists got the ok to take down the towers cuz he hates this country. So do I. That's why I bother to try to enlighten lost souls like yourself chi'rooer. Power to the peaceful is a line from a Michael Franti/Spearhead song. They have been to roo. Free your mind and your ass will follow is a Parliament Funkadelic album. They have not been to roo. I'd quote John Lennon as well but he was probably a pussy in your mind.
A nod to MLK Jr. and the notion that nonviolent resistance can change the world. war profiteering used to be unpatriotic
you are the most well rounded complete moron i have ever met. you dont have anyclue what your talking about. those people just didnt throw a dart at the map and say oh lets go get america now. we earned those attacks with our fooreign policies. and clintons a douche too. elected officials above the county level are douches. i dont like any of them. you want to think of this as dems vs repub. because thats how little of an understanding you have. that nuts might fly at church but in the real world there are facts. and you can avoid them at all costs if you want.
and to say we should ave been nicer is silly. we firebombed cities. with the intent of doing nothing but destroying the city and killing hundereds of thousands of civilians force japan to surrender. thats not a matter of nice/mean. its a matter of right/worng. murdering hundereds of thousands of women and children cannot be described with terms like "nice" and the men were of fighting. it was workd war 2 you renob. you think the men were hanging out at home? why do you think women started working factory jobs and playing pro baseball? it was because the men were off at war.
and who made us ruler of the world. because we dont want someone to have something we will bomb them back to the stoneage. and then we give it to their neighbors and enemies. pakistans nukes worry me way more then iran. and bin laden and alqueda are in pakistan. and yet we wont invade pakistan. why? well maybe because they have nukes. thats why north korea and iran want them to stop us from taking them over and installing puupet governmnets like we have done in afghanaistan and iraq(twice in iraq. lets not forget who kept saddam in power) north korea has said they will abandon the pursuit if we sign a legally binding non agrresion treaty. for chicagorooer that means that they want us to say, in writiing, that we wont attack them and that if we give them that agreement then they have no need for nukes. but bush wont even talk to them. just stay the course george.
why are we attacking and controling other countries? what right do we have. oh thats right. i forgot that we have the ultimate approval...........god talks to bush. he says so. its in the quotes that i posted that you probably skipped over. thats right. god is talking to our president. and all he has to say is take over iraq and dont let anyone else develop technology that we dont want them to have.
and yes if we fed people it would stop. these people see billions of dollars of oil being sold everyday. and yet they cant feed themselves. the rulers that america supports collect all the cash and hide in palaces. the people starve. if you feed the people and educate them then they wont be in thid horrible ass situatuion that breeds hatred and suicide bombers.
the uneducated religous fanatics are out of control in this country. you seriously need to educate your self if you dont want to continue coming of as a complete idiot. i know that i am through talkiing to you because some people jsut will never get it. and you are on of those. my daddy said it so its true.
i think you should have to take a test in order to register to vote. if you dont have a basic grasp on reality you cant vote. if you dont understand recent american history youc cant vote. and if your not up to date on current events you cant vote. an you wouldnt be able to pass a single one of those tests. i will debate with somoeone who is debating. but your just saying things that are totally incorrect just to make arguments. either that or you really are that stupid. in either case im done talking to you.

oh and just so you know miami is well over 90 miles to cuba. more like 250. i see your geography is up to date too. just thought id give you a heads up before you spout this nonsense in public. i dont want people making fun of such a nice guy.
heres a pic of your buddy donald rumsfeld greeting saddam here in america. shortly before he was given a key to the city of detroit. damn we didnt seem to mind his brutal tactics and the assasinations that were commited so he could gain power back then. i wonder why that was. maybe becasue of oil and so that they could fight a war with iran so we didnt have to. and now years later we give iraq to iran anyways with this insane war. its a similar situation in afghanistan. we supply weapons to them to fight the russians for us. and then we bailed and left them hanging because we couldnt get a pipeline built across the country.
we have given massive amounts of weapons to both saddam and bin laden. they were our little war buddies when it suited us.

hey people hated the Jews, The us hated the blacks.......yes there are people in this world who just hate!! Freedom .......Iran doesn't want iraq to be democratic b/c they will lose power......just like the soviets they plotted against us everyday b/c they hated freedom......The nazi's hated freedom.....the chinese gov't hates freedom.......we are just lucky we are free......There are way to many instances where people didn't want freedom and did all they could to stop it .......ohh the revolutionary war.....get a clue jason......
sorry I don;t know michael savage I only know fred savage
wtf did you just say??? you and bush express your ideas(or loack of them) in a very similar way. none of that makes any sense. go watch another news conference from bush and recite it back. the hating freedom thing is so far from reality its scary that anyone buys that. saddam being gone is great for iran. the majority of iraqis are shiite and are controlled by iran. for example, the biggest warlord over there, maqtada al satyr, is funded and controlled by iran. this is just the use of fear to control and brainwash weak mined fools. we support regimes that have taken all freedoms from these people. they are starving and sick. while the governments are billonaires. they want us to stop doing that so they attack us. they dont hate our freedom. that is beyond idiotic.
and if the chinese hate freedom then why are we doing so much business with them? is it ok to hate freedom if we can profit from it? why arent they part of the axis of evil. they have wmd. why not a pre-emptive strike on the freedom haters with nukes and a military that will be more powerful then ours in 2012? please. if you want to enter a debate about something atleast take an hour or 2 to get the basics right. dont just repeat what youve heard from some the dumbest people on the face of the earth.

Dude u and jason can call me all the names in the book and say how much I have no idea what i am talking about. I made my point clear and have said what needed to be said
I will never stand by and let a couple of people who are obviously isolationsist (too bad b/c it's a global world pal) disrespect our country by saying the president is Evil and the US is evil and to blame for the worlds problems. Nobody is saying the US is perfect but at least Bush is trying to handle a very very difficult situation. Whether u aggree or not this is fine b/c unlike china, russia, iran and most places in this world the most a president can be around is 8 years so feel free to vote him out......I guess you must have been in the minority twice b/c he was elected then re-elected I guess most of the US population who voted are reallly stupid and your the smart one
"the beatings will continue until moral improves"
Dude i am also worried about pakistan and N korea and I aggree we should go in there but the minute we do a world war will break out........that is why I keep saying the worst is yet to come and iraq is nothing more than a staging ground for a bigger war (BIG PICTURE) this has been my point on Iraq that it's not just for oil or land or to be "evil"
We sure as hell can't tell the world our military plans.....
Good luck an dbrace yourself b/c this has just started and is not going to end anytime soon

Ohh my geography is just fine DUDEY!!!
Distance from florida (sorry not miami but close enough) to cuba is ......The political distance between the US and Cuba has been so great since the 1959 revolution that Cuba seems like another planet to most Americans. In fact, only 90 miles separates Cuba from Florida and Havana can be reached in just a few hours from several airports in the US, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
so either way the bombs would have been real close thank god we had a president who wasn't afraid to stand up when times where tough.....geee kind of like right now....I hop this Goe lesson helps out
D.....I guess you must have been in the minority twice b/c he was elected then re-elected I guess most of the US population who voted are reallly stupid and your the smart one
see once again your completely wrong. gore won the popular vote. i didnt expect you to have even a basic understanding of our election system. bush did not have the majority of the votes. he lost the popular to gore. that means more americas voted for gore then for bush. lucky for bush his brothers governor of florida and the supreme court was a 5-4 conservative republican majority. al gore recieved 500,000 more votes then bush. but due to our outdated system bush won the the elctoral process of points for each state. it was needed back in the day to keep the populated east from controlling laws nationwide. but we dont need it anymore.
