I just finished a re-watch with my girlfriend (her first time), and I loved it way more than I remembered loving it originally. Even the last season. Best character development ever, even if the plot has shaky moments.

Just gotta pop in here and publicly share that I too was bitten by the LOST bug when it came out. It's weird to me how that show was such a HUGE part of my everyday life, and now I don't even think about it anymore. Perhaps another watch is just what the Dr Shepard ordered...

I finished watching the entire series via Netflix streaming. If you've ever seen the Portlandia skit where they accidentally start watching Battlestar Galactica, that was totally me for a week. It really was, and still is, one of the best shows that's come on TV. I too even enjoyed the final season. Though that final episode...hmm. I remember at the time hearing that people were saying that it made no sense, but with a little stretching I was able to make sense of it, I just didn't like it's conclusion.
What bothered me the most was that on the island, as jack lay on his back dying, he sees the plane take off with the people who returned to the island. Now cut to the alternate time line in which the first plane never crashed and all the 819 passengers paths have crossed and everyone starts remembering the events on the island. Well what the quack about the people who were on the plane Jack saw? What happened to them? Wouldn't there leaving the island have some sort of effect on their role in the alternate time line? Like wouldn't there characters remember going back to and then leaving the island again? God that really annoys me
heh I like the spoiler tag! And yes it is a spoiler, don't read unless you've seen it.
I watched all six seasons on Netflix about two years ago. I finished them in just a couple of weeks which is super impressive (or... sad) considering I work two jobs and keep an active social life. I would totally rewatch it, but I have wayyy too many shows to see for the first time!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Same thing keeps happening to me, Bonz. I was going to do the rewatch this Spring, but Game of Thrones started up then I decided to watch The Killing and now Breaking Bad.

Did the second season suck any less than the first? I wanted to give up halfway through Season 1, but was under the impression there would actually be a conclusion at the end. Clearly that didn't happen, and I couldn't convince myself to watch that crap for another 13 episodes.
I thought glennron was talking about LOST at first and I was about to punch him (and Airline for liking that post). The first season of LOST is the fucking BOMB!

I swear I disliked it at first because I thought he was saying the same thing, thus having to like it once I realized my mistake

Put down the Pretty Little Liars and get back to Breaking Bad, young lady. Or you're grounded.

That wasn't an "alternate timeline." It was purgatory, or limbo - a waiting station before "moving on." Those people who were on the plane - Sawyer, Kate, etc., they did remember it, just when Jack did, when everyone started recalling who each person was. The point was that for all of these people, their time on the island was the biggest/best point of their lives, so they were destined to find each other in purgatory, then meet/remember, before moving on together. The people who left the island lived more of their lives - that's what happened to them. Just like Hurley and Ben continued to live on the island as its protectors. So your mistake here is thinking of the "flash sideways" in the final season as an "alternate" timeline, when in fact its a completely separate event that occurs well after everyone involved with the main island storyline is dead.
Oh....well that does make alot more sense than my interpretation. Maybe I'll try watching it with less wine and switch to beer this time!
