The main reason the oscar slap was such a big deal was because it was in real time on live TV. Will Smith slapped that French reporter years ago and no one cared. Two years after the Oscar slap and audiences are like "well he didn't sexually assault anyone or say anything transphobic so it's fine I guess."
It starts a little wonky, but picks up over time and gets really good. I never finished it - will have to circle back around.
Also, the book series it's based on is very, very good.
Yeah first season really feels like a SyFy network show with some pretty stiff acting and the narrative doesn't really pick up steam until the eighth episode or so. But once you get there it starts to really whip ass
Yeah, I only made it two episodes when it first aired. Just didn't grab me. The first season isn't even bad it's just really slow paced and unfocused at times early on. I gave it another shot around season 3 and loved it. It's great.
Trump organization got 17 felonies, Trump the person 34, 17th letter of alphabet is Q. Double Qanon. Taylor Swift is 34 years old
34 +17 = 51 Obama was the first President to publicly mention Area 51. In 2023 NASA reveled the discovery of 17 exoplanets with potential oceans under their icy surfaces. Which are a promising place to search for extraterrestrial life.
THIS is where it gets crazy. In May, Taylor Swift added new songs to the Eras Tour setlist to represent her latest album. Down Bad's production features this imagery....
Cucumbers getting that stray vote in rounds 2 and 3. It’s probably a little early for them to go considering they turn into pickles. I like them most when making vegetable juice because they throw off so much liquid. They’re easy as shit to grow too. I don’t often think man I really would like to eat a giant cucumber. But I’m guessing that voter once got hospitalized for sticking a cucumber up their ass.
Thanks for reminding me cucumbers become pickles. Definitely moved them up my list of shit to kick off. Fuck pickles.
It's not like the cucumbers asked for it. It's not their fault. But fuck pickles unless they are homemade. Some of those are good.
I saw that Hugh Grant thing before and thought it was a joke.
"He knows how to dress. He knows how to talk. He's charming. He has stories. He's comfortable at dinner parties, and knows how to get a drink. You know what I mean? That stuff."
Literally nothing has happened to any of these traits. I would argue that a larger percentage of men dress well today than when Seinfeld was a kid. Not sure what he means by "knows how to talk" but it implies emotional intelligence and a level of education. Again, higher education levels and modernization means this trait is at least at the same level. Barring some setbacks from modern isolation in late-stage capitalism or whatever he thinks this means. People are just as social and charming as they've ever been. It just manifests itself differently with the net and the widespread use of media to communicate.
As has been said, this is old man yells at cloud shit. What he doesn't like is the change in culture. Let's be honest. What he doesn't like is progressive cultural changes that make him uncomfortable. Also a hint at anti-trans thoughts and possible just LGBT issues in general. He is talking to fucking Beri Weiss who has clear affiliation with TERFS and other anti-trans folks.
Not sure who they are calling that but I’m sure the person is saying good things and is on the right side of this.
it was me lol. i just made a comment about how it was really cool that Hozier called for a free palestine during his BC set, someone insulted me, i told them to eat shit, and then a burner said fuck you and called me a hamas sympathizer
FYI the person that made an account just to call a board member an Hamas sympathizer is still trying to make new accounts. Vieux and I have been cock blocking them, but be on the look out.

I’m paying special attention for anyone teaming up with Sang in these threads.
Already 2 rounds of people explaining basic culinary facts from centuries of human civilization. And sang is just like “nah”.
I didn’t eliminate celery by myself.
Ohh I know. And there’s a difference between what I’m joking about and just simply not liking something. There’s plenty of staples I don’t really like. I was more pointing out it’s funny when you deny things that are 100% true because you personally don’t like it.
yeah but you cook them. you cook them and they are the flavor base of an entire dish. it's like saying salt is boring, sure it is but nobody is cooking anything without salt.
like we all agree onions rule, but nobody is taking a big bite out of a whole raw onion, if you do that they put you in jail for future crimes.
the smell of sauteeing onions, peppers, and celery is better than the taste of most foods.
I voted peas simply bc I've never had something that I felt peas made the dish/drink. Looking down the list, I can think of that for pretty much every other thing on the list.
I buy peas for tikka masala but it’s just to green it up at the end. It’s not necessary at all and easily replaceable. I’ll throw it into veggie soup too. Pretty forgettable.
Celery is part of the stock of so much. Can’t vote for it yet.
